01 Lowell Park (Chestnut Street)
Inspired by the City Beautiful movement, and supported by a donation from businessman Elmore Lowell, the city worked to improve its riverfront in 1909, hiring landscape architect William Finklenburg to design a new park on the levee. A few years later, after the railroad turned over land on the north side of Chestnut Street, nationally known landscape architects Morell and Nichols created the plan for that section of the park. The pavilion was built in 1923.

Places to see in ( Gloucester - UK )
Gloucester is a city and district in southwest England, the county city of Gloucestershire. Gloucester lies close to the Welsh border, on the River Severn, between the Cotswolds to the east and the Forest of Dean to the southwest.
Gloucester was founded in AD 97 by the Romans under Emperor Nerva as Colonia Glevum Nervensis, and was granted its first charter in 1155 by King Henry II. Economically, the city is dominated by the service industries, and has a strong financial and business sector, and historically was prominent in the aerospace industry.
Gloucester is located on the eastern bank of the River Severn, sheltered by the Cotswolds to the east, while the Forest of Dean and the Malvern Hills rise to the west and north, respectively. Gloucester is a port, linked via the Gloucester and Sharpness Canal which runs from Gloucester's docks to the Severn Estuary, allowing larger ships to reach the docks than would be possible on the tidal reaches of the river itself, which go well north of the city to Haw Bridge. The wharfs, warehouses and the docks themselves fell into disrepair until their renovation in the 1980s. They now form a public open space. Some warehouses now house the Gloucester Waterways Museum, others were converted into residential flats, shops and bars. Additionally, the Soldiers of Gloucestershire Museum is located in the Custom House. Next to the museum is Gloucester Yacht Club. The port still houses the most inland RNLI lifeboat in the United Kingdom.
Gloucester is made up of a variety of neighbourhoods, some of which correspond to electoral divisions of the City Council.

Gloucester is served by the M5 motorway, which runs to the east of the city. Until the construction of the Severn Bridge in 1966, Gloucester was the lowest bridging point on the river and hence was an important settlement on the route between London and South Wales. Gloucester railway station has frequent trains to London Paddington, Reading, Bristol, Cardiff Central, Nottingham and Birmingham.

Melungeon
Melungeon is a term traditionally applied to one of numerous tri-racial isolate groups of the Southeastern United States. Historically, Melungeons were associated with the Cumberland Gap area of central Appalachia, which includes portions of East Tennessee, Southwest Virginia, and eastern Kentucky. Tri-racial describes populations thought to be of mixed European, African and Native American ancestry. Although there is no consensus on how many such groups exist, estimates range as high as 200. Melungeons were often referred to by other settlers as of Portuguese or Native American origin.
According to the Tennessee Encyclopedia of History and Culture, in his 1950 dissertation, cultural geographer Edward Price proposed that Melungeons were families descended from free people of color and mixed-race unions between people of African ancestry and Native Americans in colonial Virginia.

This Is How The Queen and Members Of Royal Family Celebrate Christmas Each Year.
It has, after all, been a very busy year for the royals. Firstly, in April 2018 Kate Middleton gave birth to Prince Louis. He was Kate and Prince William’s third child. And in July that year the Archbishop of Canterbury christened little Louis in a ceremony at St James’s Palace in London.

Why Ghosts Appear in Photos and Videos
Craig Hamilton-Parker talks about ghost and why they appear in photos. Craig writes a column for Fate and Fortune Magazine called Phantoms on Film in which readers send in their ghost photographs for analysis. The pictures are scrutinized and checked to see if they are real or fakes and whether there is an earthly explanation to account for the ghost seen in the picture. In this video Craig explains some of the common reasons that ghosts and spirits appear in photographs and videos.
The video starts with the ghostly stories surrounding Knole House which is an English country house in the civil parish of Sevenoaks in west Kent. The oldest parts of the house were built by Thomas Bourchier, Archbishop of Canterbury, between 1456 and 1486. Ghosts include the ghost of the ‘Black Knight’ real name Richard Sackville the 3rd Earl of Dorset (1598-1624). His ghost is seen ‘…roaming the medieval quarters of the house whenever a misfortune is about to befall Knole…’ Also Craig talks about the ghost of Lady Anne Clifford, daughter of the 3rd Earl of Cumberland (1590-1676) and who is said to walk the dark avenue of chestnut and oak trees to the north of Knole’s grand gate house.
By examining photographs of ghosts and videos of ghosts we find that there are a number of explanations for the phenomena. The most obvious is trickery such as faking things using Photoshop or a ghost app. Then of course there’s the psychological explanation. Could it be that out imagination is playing tricks on us and seeing a ghost or spirit where all that’s there is simply a texture and a play of light and shadows? Craig also explains the psychological phenomenon that causes some people to see or hear a vague or random image or sound as something significant is known as pareidolia. Pareidolia may account for many of the alleged ghost pictures that are sent to his column.
In addition Craig talks about the history of ghost photography and how Thomas Edison had the bright idea of inventing a spirit phone to talk with the dead. It didn’t work of course but ever since people have wondered if there are ways we can use machinery to get messages from the dead. He also covers the biggest ghost hoax when Sir Arthur Conan Doyle was tricked into believing in the fairies Cottingley.
Craig concludes by talking about real ghosts caught on camera including the phenomena of Thoughtography. Thoughtography, also called projected thermography, psychic photography, nengraphy or nensha, is the claimed ability to burn images from one's mind onto surfaces such as photographic film by psychic means. This and other miraculous ghost photographs are discussed in detail.
Additional topics include: Thomas Edison Ghost Phone, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Cottingley Faries and Sir William Crookes and pareidolia.

One Habit of Uber Famous Birders
What is one habit that most uber famous birders all have in common? It's something that you can do right now.
This habit was really brought to light a few years ago when I was reading the introduction to the Crossley ID Guide. I just fell in love with something Richard Crossley points out about the difference between birders in the US from those in the UK.
And, it's this difference, this habit ... that most all of the well known birders of the past and today share with one another.
If you liked this video, don't forget to share the love and pass this video along to your friends!!
