Chew Valley Animal Park
We visited Chew Valley Animal Park for the first time.
We had a lovely day out, there's plenty of animals to feed and pet, a 'Cuddle Corner' where you can hold a wide variety of animals, a play park, cafe and gift shop.
There is parking on sight however this is limited.
There are various hand washing stations, unfortunately I couldn't see any specific disabled parking, and I didn't get a look at an accessible toilet.
Whether you want to feed the animals or have a cooked breakfast with a beautiful view, this is a lovely tucked away family run facility!
P.s in the video I tell Harry off a couple of times for running off, he is going through a phase of testing the boundaries. He was given a proper talking to off camera and stopped running off after, the joys of 2 year olds!

Chew Valley Waterfall Walk
Monday 2nd January - my first proper walk of 2017!
Setting off from the west side of Chew Valley Lake in Somerset, I climbed Breach Hill in search of a trig point and obelisk. From there, I walked north to Chew Stoke, before turning west towards the 'waterfall' as noted on the OS map. My return route followed the Monarch's Way south before diverting east to the lake.

(HD) Chew Valley Lake , North Somerset. Mon 22nd July 2013.
))))))))))))))))))) Best in 1080 Full Screen ((((((((((((((((((((((((
On the last day of my July weeks holiday we take a drive up to Chew Valley Lake in the beautiful Chew Valley. To the north of the lake in under 5 miles is the City of Bristol via Dundry Hill, and 10 miles to the west is Bristol Airport. The Mendip Hills leading to Cheddar Gorge are to the South.
The lake which provides drinking water for Bristol is the 5th largest man-made lake in the Country. It was opened on the 17th April 1956, a month i know well.... after being constructed for several years by Bristol Waterworks Company. In the making they had to flood the old hamlet of Moreton, which apparently was a thriving community in the Middle Ages. Excavations some time back revealed this and also possibly the remains of the Nunnery Santa Cruz.
Most of the water comes from the nearby Mendip Hills to the south. We stopped for lunch at the Tea rooms at the north of the lake, and a bit later we drive round to the west side to go to Woodford Lodge. At Woodford it is a bit quieter, and where some of the best views of the lake can be had. They have a very nice restaurant which overlooks the lake, where we sampled a Pear and Honey crumble with custard.....highly excellent !! That's the waistline gone again....ha ha. The final 2 clips are taken at the south-western end of the lake and again i have problems with what i can see to film....bright concrete for starters lol.
The lake is used for a variety of leisure pursuits, including fishing, yachting, nature trail, bird watching etc etc. I can thoroughly recommend a visit here if your ever in the area; for us it was a lovely way to finish time-out !!!

Alligator discovered bathing by the side of an English lake
The snappy reptile, which was between 50cm and 100cm long, was spotted wandering around Chew Valley Lake in North Somerset. Staff at Bristol Water caught the alligator with a net and put it in a box while waiting for a member of the RSPCA to collect it. It is unknown how alligator, which is native to the Americas and can grow more than 11ft, ended up in rural England. A spokesperson for Bristol Water said: “It was found at Chew Valley Lake by a project engineer. “It was captured with a net and is currently at Woodford Lodge waiting to be collected by the RSPCA.”

These Fish Eat Scales
Most of us don’t really give fish scales a second thought, but for some fish, the scales of others can make for a tasty snack.

King Arthur II & Prince Madoc's voyage to America in AD 562
Alan Wilson & James Michael present this lecture in a College of Kentucky - one of several that Alan lectured at in his lecture tour of 1992. James Michael sadly passed away in January 2008. Were it not for his dedicated work little of this Arthur research would be known in the USA today.
This full documentary contains not just a presentation lecture but also extra footage which has never been broadcast until now. You will be shown some of the vast amounts of evidence concerning the voyage of Arthur 2 and Prince Madoc sailing from Britain to America during the 6th century - almost a thousand years before Columbus.
Also covered later in the documentary is James Michael explaining the ancient British Coelbren alphabet, and its connection to many inscriptions found in the America.
The establishment crooks have written off this Coelbren alphabet as the creation of a Welsh-British Antiquarian called Iolo Morganwg during the19th century, yet the authors easily show in their books how this accusation is completely false and they give many examples of its use and notice CENTURIES prior to the time of the alleged forgery.
The documentary is not always good quality in parts as it was only converted in 2008 using old VHS tapes originally recorded in 1992. Despite this it is a brilliant and informative documentary of how history -- like most things -- has been manipulated and forgotten.
Alan Wilson is now 80 years old and still going strong. He and his life-long fellow researcher Baram Blackett have written and published nine books. They also have available several documentaries (old and new) documenting their researches and what happens when you discover things the establishment doesn't want discovered.
Their books published to date (oldest first) are as follows:
1 - Arthur, King of Glamorgan and Gwent.
2 - Arthur and the Charter of Kings.
3 - Arthur the War King
4 - Artorius Rex Discovered
5 - The Holy Kingdom
6 - The King Arthur Conspiracy
7 - Moses in the Hieroglyphs
8 - The Discovery of the Ark of the Covenant
9 - The Trojan War of 650 BC
These books can be purchased at:
