Cheyenne Frontier Days Unveils New Headquarters in Cheyenne, Wyoming
Sponsors of Cheyenne Frontier Days will have access to an exceptional new view at this year's Cheyenne Frontier Days rodeo.
Tom Hirsig, CEO of Cheyenne Frontier Days, took Cowboy State Daily on a tour of the new facility this week and explained the importance of the new building.
This year the Cheyenne Frontier Days rodeo in Cheyenne, Wyoming kicks off on Friday, July 19, 2019.
Tom Hirsig, the CEO of Cheyenne Frontier Days, said the new facility will house offices for the rodeo's professional staff as well as a large event space that can be rented out year round.
Cheyenne Frontier Days 2019 promises to be the best Cheyenne Frontier Days yet.

Learn the history of Frontier Days, which started as a way to highlight the area’s livestock industries, and has now turned into the nation’s premier rodeo experience. Old West Museum Curator Mike Kassel talks about some of the historic figures who attended Frontier Days at the turn of the 20th century including Buffalo Bill, and Teddy Roosevelt. Mr. Kassel also shows part of a new exhibit which features items from the first Frontier Days.

Frontier Days, the world's largest outdoor rodeo and western celebration, has a plethora of activities that will immerse you in the 10 days of western and cowboy culture. #5 (not in any particular order) on our list of top things to do at Frontier Days is the Indian Village. The Indian Village is one of my favorite places to visit for several reasons including; the Indian Village is free, they serve a wonderful buffalo burger, free kids crafts, the entertainment is outstanding (native dancers, native american flute, dance workshops & native story tellers) and it is probably the most peaceful and quiet setting in the entire Frontier Park grounds.

In 1898, just after the second annual Frontier Days rodeo, the CFD committee invited American Indian performers to participate in the CFD celebration. American Indian performers have returned to CFD each year since, entertaining and educating visitors about American Indian heritage and culture.
Historically, the visiting performers camped on a corner of Frontier Park, and that became a tourist mecca. Over the years, the site of the campground shifted from place to place. In the 1960s, the CFD committee established a permanent campground, dubbed the “Indian Village,” on the southeast corner of the park, where it remains to this day. In addition to hosting authentic American Indian dancing, music playing and storytelling, the Indian Village also includes a number of Native American exhibit booths and food vendors.

Another Dead 2011 Cheyenne Rodeo Horse
When a horse is killed during the infamous wild horse race on July 30, 2011, rodeo thugs followed their usual routine of conducting a physical cover-up by surrounding the victim.
Additionally, CFD Tickets Chairman Jim Gorman directed another thug to physically block SHARK president Steve Hindi from filming. That effort didn't work, other than to demonstrate the character (or lack thereof) of CFD officials.

Frontier Days, the world's largest outdoor rodeo and western celebration, has a plethora of activities that will immerse you in the 10 days of western and cowboy culture. #7 (not in any particular order) on our list of top things to do at Frontier Days is Feel the Power of the Air Force Thunderbirds. The Thunderbirds share a long history with Cheyenne Frontier Days as they made their public debut in Cheyenne in 1953. They have continued to perform regularly since, except for 2013 when they were grounded due to the government's budget sequestration. Frontier Days is the only location where the team performs every year on a regular basis. The air show takes place at Laramie County Community College. Cheyenne Rodeo's Cruel Wild Horse Race Exposed
The infamous Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo, in Cheyenne, Wyoming includes a cruel and dangerous event called the Wild Horse Race. These horses aren't wild, they're terrorized. How can such abuse be allowed in the United States of America. How can corporate sponsors such as Coca-Cola, AT&T, Southwest Airlines and Dodge sponsor such abuse?
In 2009, unwilling to stop its abuses, Cheyenne instead banned video cameras.
Top 10 Things to Do at Cheyenne Frontier Days - #6 Pancakes!
Frontier Days, the world's largest outdoor rodeo and western celebration, has a plethora of activities that will immerse you in the 10 days of western and cowboy culture. #6 (not in any particular order) on our list of top things to do at Frontier Days is Pancakes!. Frontier Days hosts three pancake breakfasts - Monday, Wednesday and Friday (days that there are no parades).
From cfdrodeo.com...The all-time Cheyenne Frontier Days free breakfast single-day record was registered during the Wednesday 1996 feeding frenzy where 16,897 people were served. The weekly record was broken that same year when 39,111 people enjoyed a free breakfast and Cheyenne western hospitality. Just for the record, the almost 40,000 were fed in a combined serving time of eight hours, ten minutes. This year, the volunteers will serve up more than 100,000 flapjacks made from 5,000 pounds of pancake mix, cook-up 3,000 pounds of ham, serve 9,200 cartons of milk and 520 gallons of coffee, along with 630 pounds of butter and 475 gallons of syrup! Beginning at 7:00 am, free breakfast is served with a special Cheyenne “howdy” and a smile. Enjoy a free breakfast in Ol’ Cheyenne with visitors from all 50 states and many foreign countries. You might help set a record! Started by the Cheyenne Frontier Committee in 1952, the traditional free breakfast (originally served twice a week) has since been a favorite of locals and visitors alike. The Kiwanis Club, with the help of the Cheyenne Boys and Girl Scouts, cook up the grub on military ranges. For the Kiwanis, the CFD breakfast is not only a great time, but a chance to practice as well. The ranges have proved to be useful in past years in feeding victims of natural disasters, and Frontier Days is the perfect opportunity to show Civil Defense just how many people they can feed in a short period of time. ***From 1st hand experience, the pancakes and ham are awesome! I would suggest parking in the garage at 17th St and Pioneer - it's a short walk to the line from there and I have yet to not find a parking spot, albeit usually parking is only available on the top level (unless you get there early). The Wed. of Frontier Days, called Cheyenne Day is typically the busiest since some business are closed and people take that day off of work.

Dancing Arapaho at Cheyenne Frontier Days
The Northern Arapaho have a long tradition of involvement with Cheyenne Frontier Days. This group from the Wyoming Wind River Indian Reservation has participated in the last 11 years of Frontier Days. Sandra Iron Cloud is Be'zeinooniibei's (Singing Cedar) English name. She and her sister help arrange their group's return to Cheyenne every summer. Iron Cloud looks at the event as an opportunity to exchange culture, and teach about the contemporary and historical traditions of the Northern Arapaho.
