Cheyne Horan is a former world surfing champ and head coach and owner of the Cheyne Horan School of Surf. Cheyne and his team of surf coaches are there to teach you the best and easiest way to learn to surf. Most of their first time students have managed to stand up by the end of their first learn to surf lesson. Even for those who can already surf, Cheyne holds lessons and surf tips for beginners right through to experienced and advanced surfers.

The Cheyne Horan School of Surf is your go-to for epic surf experience in Surfers Paradise.
WE’LL HAVE YOU STANDING AND SURFING FIRST LESSON OF THE NEXT ONE IS FREE!

The foundations of getting the basics right first will see you getting to your feet before you know it. Your first lesson will be in waist deep water with easy to ride waves and a soft board, helping you learn faster and catch more waves. You’ll be supported by qualified instructors and surf lifesavers.

Lessons are for beginners and intermediate surfers and can be attended by absolutely anyone – children, adults, families or groups. Everyone receives a certificate and is taught ocean awareness, surf safety and etiquette.

With over 35 years experience, you’ll be in the best hands possible.

Ellen, It was awesome to learn to surf with a legend. Cheyne Horan is a World Champion Surfer and is also in Australia's Surfing Hall of Fame. The Cheyne Horan School of Surf is located in the Gold Coast, Surfers Paradise and Byron Bay.

A stormy surf lesson in Surfers Paradise

Fun but kind of rough day with Get Wet Surf School in Surfers Paradise, Australia's top surfing spot on the Gold Coast, booked for me by DoubleTree by Hilton for my DTour of a Lifetime! With a cyclone brewing off the coast, we had unpredictable waves and heavy rain at the end, but we did catch a few rides and it was totally awesome!
