【4K】Walking from Chiba station to Chiba port park
Not a vlog, no intrusive faces or talking, pure Japan only.
Some people said other side of Chiba station is more interesting. Why not walk there too?
So I walked from Chiba station under the monorail to the shore and Chiba port park.
Found two cats in the park!

Chiba port tower - Chiba, Japan
Chiba Port Tower is a tower located in Chiba Port Park, Chūō-ku, Chiba, Chiba Prefecture, Japan. It is 125.1 m tall and has four stories. It was built in 1986.
The closest station is Chiba-Minato Station on the Keiyō Line and Chiba Urban Monorail. It takes about 15 minutes on foot from the station to Chiba Port Tower. The tower is close to Chiba Central Post Office and Chiba Prefectural Museum of Art.

Chiba Park-千葉公園 (Chiba-Ken, Japan)
You can enjoy the nature lot from here. This large park is located near Chiba city, Higashi Chiba station (Google Map- is a playground, Walking path, a Lake and Gokoku Shrine.
This is a better place for enjoy the evening. I just spotted the place when I walked to Chiba from Nishi Chiba

Chiba Port Tower is nothing more than an observatory tower located in the port-side area of Chiba city, in the prefecture of the same name.
It is 125 meters tall, yet with only 4 floors, and located on the top of this tower is a cafe which sits alongside an observatory room.
The tower was opened in 1986 and built in commemoration of Chiba Prefecture’s population exceeding the five-million mark in 1983.
With its unique design and entirely covered of reflective windows, the Chiba Port Tower is a breathtaking, architectural wonder that seems to pierce the sky like a ‘katana’.

Chiba (千葉市) is the capital city of #Chiba Prefecture, #Japan. It sits about 40 kilometres (25 mi) southeast of the center of #Tokyo on Tokyo Bay. The city had an area of 271.76 square kilometres (104.93 sq mi). The name of Chiba in the Japanese language is formed from two kanji characters. The first, 千, means thousand and the second, 葉 means leaves. Chiba City is one of the Kantō region's primary seaports, and is home to Chiba Port, which handles one of the highest volumes of cargo in the nation.
Chiba is famous for the Chiba Urban Monorail, the longest suspended monorail in the world. Some popular destinations in the city include: Kasori Shell Midden, the largest #shellmound in the world at 134,000 m2 (160,000 sq yd), #InageBeach, the first artificial beach in the nation which forms part of the longest artificial beach in Japan, and the Chiba City Zoological Park, popular on account of the standing red panda #Futa.
Chiba Prefecture is blessed with rich nature including various beautiful shorelines and green hills, and the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries industries have long been active. There are a lot of products from the sea and riches of soil and many traditional ways of cooking of them. Chiba proposes its original dishes or many ways of cooking and eating.
Chiba Prefecture surrounded by the sea on its three sides has a mild climate, warm in winter and cool in summer. Under the influence of the warm current (Black Current) that flows #offshore, the land is hardly frosted even in winter. The precipitation is heavy in summer and light in winter.

Chiba Port Tower tingginya sekitar 125m, termasuk bangunan tertinggi di sekitar itu. Bentuknya unik, terlihat tipis banget dari luar.

17.08: Touched down in Japan for barely 5 hours and I was up again, catching the bullet train out of Tokyo into the wilderness that was Karuizawa’s Wild Bird Forest. Located on a highland plateau, this bird sanctuary - otherwise known as Yacho no Mori - is home to apparently 120 species of birds. Of which many, have apparently taken wing to seek warmer pastures down south. Though (relatively) quiet it may be, it was a delight to see the remaining non-migrants. Singing, preening, bathing, feeding. Or just silently roosting - and that was the best part (amidst the ferocious, relentless mosquitoes): seeing the Ural Owl (Strix uralensis). Perched 4-5m high, its eyelids flutter, noting my friend and my presence before continued its shut-eye. It got me at the first flutter. Words (or sounds) weren’t necessary for this kind of love.
18.08: Day two of birdwatching: marshland and the coast. Yatsu-Higata Marshland and Kasai Rinkan Park respectively. Amidst all the 8 lifers (aka new bird species), I make my very first acquaintance with gulls, specifically the Black-tailed Gull (Larus crassirostris). Old friends (e.g. Grey Herons, Little Egrets, cormorants) and new (ducks galore!), scatter far and wide on sandbanks and in the water. Some not so brave, skulk against the tall, swaying grass.
To be honest, I am not really a big fan of shorebirds - but then again, this is mostly fueled by current inability to identify between the seemingly crazy kaleidoscope of speckled, streaked and mottled patterns. All these in hues of black and earth and everything in between against the feathery canvas of white. But I think, they are slowly starting to grow on me.

The more spectacular stuff came after my video camera had filled up, so I missed capturing the instant demolition of one of the internal walls in the port (the jetty below the orange crane).
The waves may not look spectacular or dangerous, but they still packed a lot of power.
