Originally designed by legendary golf course architect Perry maxwell, it was redesigned in 1996 by Robert Cupp and went on to host the 2009 U.S. Amateur Public Links Championship, 2013 U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links Championship and NCAA Regional Championships in 2012 (men's) and 2013 (women's).
Today, the course is easily the best public golf course in the area and equals the level of many of the top private courses in the Oklahoma City area and represents a tremendous test of golf to all golfers. Continue renovations are going on this year including new bunker renovation and installation, expansion of native areas, the addition of a new halfway house and future plans for a short course and expanded practice facility.
OU Golf Club is well work the 35 minute drive down from Oklahoma City and a must play for anyone traveling to Oklahoma City or looking for a great golf course in OKlahoma City.

Good Scores Require Good Course Management
This video offers some good course management tips and illustrates how good scoring is directly proportional to good course management. Not every shot will be perfect. Not every round will be played in good weather conditions. But if you play smart golf and give yourself the best chances to make par, your scores will improve and you will play better golf. Going for the miracle or glory shot always feels great - when they work, but they rarely do - and when they don't work, your scorecard gets riddled with hockey sticks and snowmen.
The back 9 at the Kingsmill Intercollegiate suffered from some poor course management decisions and the round came in at 74. Not bad for the cold, windy weather conditions, but could have easily been under par with a 70 or 69, with only a few minor adjustments.
