うきは市は福岡県南東部に位置し、南側にそびえ立つ大迫力の耳納連山と北側にある大きな筑後川にはさまれた小さな町です。山間部には日本ならではの里山の風景が残り、平野部には大正時代の姿を残す町並み、桃や柿、ぶどうなどの果樹園が広がっています。うきはの風景はどこを切り取っても美しいと言われます。歴史的な建造物とおしゃれなカフェが調和した町並みや、季節ごとに色づく果樹園、そして山間部にあり、約300枚の田が広がるつづら棚田の風景は圧巻の美しさです。この動画ではそんなうきはの美しさを凝縮して味わっていただくために作成しました。ぜひご覧ください。

Ukiha is a small town in the South East Fukuoka prefecture that is situated in between the dynamic Mino range on the South side and the huge Chikugo River on the North side. The mountain area remains to be the sight of Japanese rural nations, including streets from Taisho era and fruit farms with peaches, persimmons, and grapes in the plain field.
Ukiha is so beautiful that the sight captured there is similar to a scene cut from a painting. The street with historical buildings and modern stylish cafes, the fruit field that changes colors every season, and the 300ish rice terraces in the mountain area have all contributed to such a stunning sight. Thirty-sixth Episode: Under the Wisteria

Across the river from my home is a good sized park with a VERY large wisteria plant (several really) growing across some very large latices. Every year when the wisteria blooms a festival is held in the park for so people can come and enjoy the flowers, and spend too much money!
