Children’s Lake stocked with thousands of pounds of trout
The Pa. Fish and Boat Commission stocked Children’s Lake in Boiling Springs with over 3,500 lbs. of adult trout in preparation for the regional opening day of trout season and mentored youth day which allows licensed adults with a youth under 16 to fish on Saturday, March 25. Tuesday March 21, 2017.

In the spring, summer and autumn the Boiling Springs Lake is usually buzzing with people sitting along the lake, feeding the ducks or fishing, but in winter, it is much more quiet. The Lake is a sanctuary for water fowl year round. This short video shows you ducks and geese taking in the sun while bathing in the Lake.

The Pa Fish and Boat Comm. stocks Little Slate's mouth on Pine Creek
The Pa Fish and Boat Commission stocked Little Slate's mouth on Pine Creek with many brown trout. Dick Crawford had the buckets right at the mouth of Little Slate while two other helpers stocked slightly downstream. This was a late fall stocking - the trout are still there in very good number and will provide excellent winter angling in December, January, February, and March - then, heavier hatches begin and spring fishing will have its sway.

Trout stocking: Pennsylvania trout fishing season 2018
The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission delivers brook, rainbow and golden rainbow trout at Children's Lake in Boiling Springs, Cumberland County. The fish were raised at the Huntsdale Fish Hatchery. The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission’s “Great White Fleet” of stocking trucks will deliver about 3.15 million trout to streams and lakes across the state in preparation for the upcoming opening of the 2018 trout fishing seasons. Stocking will continue throughout March, leading up to a succession of opening days Saturday, March 24, through Saturday, April 14. (Video by Dan Gleiter/PennLive)
