View full lesson:
In 1974, farmers digging a well near their small village stumbled upon one of the most important finds in archaeological history – vast underground chambers surrounding a Chinese emperor’s tomb that contained more than 8,000 life-size clay soldiers ready for battle. Art Association and Staircase Gallery Opening March 14 2014
The Staircase Galleries at Government Center are part of an initiative by Mass In Motion-Fall River to encourage physical activity among employees and visitors to Government Center. Partnering with the Greater Fall River Art Association an exhibit was opened on March 14, 2014 to display the posters of Drew Furtado, the painting of Richard Pais and David Medeiros and the vision plans of Al Lima. The event was held in collaboration with the Fall River Art Association's Art for Kids exhibit and silent auction to benefit art programs for Fall River's Children. Mass in Motion also recognized the contributions of Robert Geleney, Durfee High School art teacher, who was instrumental in the creation of the gallery and who is retiring this June. Mayor William Flanagan was on hand to view the exhibit with artists Furtado and Pais. Mr. Lima and Mr. Medeiros were unable to attend due to illness. The goal of the state-wide Mass in Motion initiative is to create a healthier community through changes in policy, systems and environments. For more information, go to HealthyCityFallRiver.org.
Arrow Rock Missouri | RV Life
In this episode we are camping at Arrow Rock State Park! We visited the historic towns of Arrow Rock and Blackwater and Bothwell Lodge State Historic Site in Missouri. It was a jam packed and super fun weekend!
The campground is fantastic and we lucked out to get the only full hook up spot. The Visitor's Center has a great museum and is right along the path to the old western town of Arrow Rock. We even got to attend their Night at the Museum event which featured history come to life as actors played the parts of historical figures from the town's past as a primary trail head for the Sante Fe Trail.
We also got the pleasure of visiting another historic old western town, Blackwater, MO. We ended up being there a little too early for many of the shops, but history of the town was on display everywhere and was incredible to take in.
The next day, we were detoured by flooding and ended up visiting Bothwell Lodge near Sedalia, MO. Katie has been dying to seeing this place, with it's fantastic and unique architecture. We couldn't get any video of the interior, but check the blog and our Instagram feed for tons of pictures.
It was a fantastic trip, we all learned so much about the important part western Missouri played in supplying the Old West with important resources. They do a fall festival in October and we are going to try and get back there for that!

We are Katie and Scott, travelers, adventurers, seeking a life of full time RV living with our youngest kid and our crazy dog. Right now we're still at the planning stages, getting ready for fulltime RV life while our older kids finish up school and get settled on their own.
We've started our lives over about 6 years ago, getting married and combining forces into the awesome family of 6 we have now! So in many ways we get to do everything all over again, this time with the benefit of being older and wiser. We plan to home school the little one as we go on the road full time for a few years, then find a place to settle down and call home.
We're still trying to figure out what we're doing with this whole camping and RV life thing and you all get to join us as we learn how to organize our space and downsize all our junk. We're trying to embrace this minimalist lifestyle as well as learn how to use as these great camping and RV products that are out there.
We put out weekly videos ranging from product reviews, RV tips and tricks, how to videos, 5th wheel and travel trailer tours, recipes and of course our RV family travel videos. We hope you''ll subscribe and join us each week!

The Indus Civilization
Jonathan Mark Kenoyer | The Indus Civilization - Changing Perspectives on Regional Origins, Diverse Character and Complex Legacy: The 4th Mahomedali Habib Distinguished Lecture
Speaker: Jonathan Mark Kenoyer, Professor, Department of Anthropology, University of Wisconsin Madison
Moderator: Munis Faruqui, Associate Professor of South and Southeast Asian Studies; Faculty Lead, Berkeley Pakistan Initiative
Sponsors: Institute for South Asia Studies, The Berkeley Pakistan Initiative, The Mahomedali Habib Distinguished Lecture
ISAS and Pakistan@Berkeley, a campaign to broaden and deepen Pakistan related research, teaching and programming at UC Berkeley, are proud to announce the fourth Mahomedali Habib Distinguished Lecture on Pakistan by Prof. Jonathan Mark Kenoyer, famed archaeologist and one of the world's leading authorities on the ancient Indus civilization.
This lecture will discuss the rapidly changing perspectives on the Indus Civilization that emerged in what is now Pakistan and Western India between around 2600-1900 BC. The origins of this culture can be traced to much earlier periods along the Indus and adjacent regions. Recent discoveries will be presented to emphasize the ways in which different regions of northwestern South Asia contributed to the emergence of early urban society. The regional variations of these cities will be highlighted in order to illustrate how the people who made up this culture adjusted to different local environments and socio-economic and political developments. The character of the Indus cities will be illustrated through remains of their distinctive technology, ornaments, textiles, ceramics, architecture, art and ideology. Between 1900-1000 BC the cities and settlements of this civilization began to change. Major issues that contributed to these changes will be discussed along with the important legacy of the Indus Civilization that has impacted later cultures and continues up to the present.

Dales with whom he co-authored a definitive study of Excavations at Mohenjo-daro, Pakistan: The Pottery.
The Mahomedali Habib Distinguished Lecture on Pakistan is named in honor of one of the leading figures in the history of the Habib family. In addition to successfully guiding the Habib family’s transition from India to Pakistan following independence in 1947, Mahomedali Habib laid the foundations for the House of Habib, a group of powerful business and financial companies. The group has a long-standing history of philanthropy and social service and is currently leading the establishment of Habib University, a liberal arts and sciences university, in Pakistan which aims to bridge the gap between global academia and Pakistan. Toward honoring the legacy of Mahomedali Habib – who was distinguished by his love for Pakistan and his deep commitment to education and philanthropy – the Habib family has decided to endow an annual lecture series in his name. Through this lecture series the Habib family aims to improve and diversify conversations about Pakistan in the United States as well as create opportunities for US and Pakistan-based scholars to dialogue.

Strive for less than Five Days Absent
We are urging students to “Strive for less than five days absent” this school year. If a student misses 2 days a month, this adds up to 20 absences per year or nearly 10% of the school year. Students missing 15 days of school per year are considered to be chronically absent
