ABOUT Dr. Salman Qureshi: Dr. Salman Qureshi was graduated from Peshawar Medical College - Pakistan and is currently settled in United Kingdom. He remained Regional Chairperson (Elected) of Asian Medical Students’ Association International for two consecutive tenures and succeeded to highlight the name of Pakistan by securing distinctions on international level. He was also honoured to be the youngest delegate from Pakistan to attend 68th Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting in Medicine that was held in Lindau – Germany and WHO 9th Global Conference on Health Promotion that was held in Shanghai – China. Besides his experience of working in prominent research institutions and international health organizations, he is also an enthusiastic traveller, an avid backpacker and a food lover. He has also keen interest in visiting historic sites and famous landmarks. He always enjoy in exploring new destinations and tasting traditional (Halal) cuisines. So far he has been able to travel 14 different countries in context of both excursion and educational trips. Let’s join him in this adventurous journey.

China Mao impersonator at blockchain conference causes furoreA publicity stunt at a conference about blockchain technology in China, which saw an actor impersonate Mao Zedong, has sparked uproar on social media.Xu Guoxiang imitated Mao - by wearing a grey suit and speaking in his Hunan accent - at the Boao Blockchain Forum for Asia in Hainan Province.China's law prohibits using the names and images of party leaders for commercial purposes. The event's organisers were forced to apologise for the stunt.The Boao Forum for Asia has issued a statement saying it is not affiliated with the Boao Blockchain Forum for Asia.At the conference, Mr Xu said: I sincerely hope this forum is a success. I thank you in the name of Mao Zedong!He delivered a speech with actor characteristics and personal opinion, according to China's Global Times news website. Blockchain is a technology that underpins digital currencies and was the focus of the conference.

Enjoy Andreas Fulda´s performance of the Chinese folk song „Zai na yaoyuan de difang (At that distant place) in the semi-final and the 1926 art song „Jiao wo ruhe bu xiang ta (Tell me how I can stop longing for her) in the final of Beijing Television's (BTV) 2007 Arts from Our Land competition.
The annual TV show provides an opportunity for expatriates interested in Chinese arts and culture to display their talents before an international audience. Amateur performers from all over the world have enjoyed meeting others who share their interests, making new friends as they work together to hone their skills in such Chinese art forms as crosstalk, martial arts, traditional dance and opera.
BTV hosted the first Songs from Our Land: Foreigners Singing Chinese Songs competition in 1995. The final round of competition was broadcast during the spring festival, and was one of the highest-rated specials that holiday season.
In the years since then, the annual competition has grown in scope and scale, and the ratings have continued to climb. A survey of spring festival programme popularity conducted in 2001 showed Songs from Our Land in third place, following only the CCTV and BTV gala variety specials. It is now broadcast in Hong Kong, North America and Europe, as well as throughout China.
In 2002, the competition was expanded to its present programme, and received a new name: Arts from Our Land.
Every year, people of all races, creeds and nationalities gather together to display their love of Chinese arts and culture; to show off their talents in amicable competition; to make new friends and reunite with old ones. Together with viewers in China and abroad, they celebrate the spring festival in a spirit of international fellowship.

It takes a few minutes by ferry from Xiamen main island to visit the place where warrior 'Koxinga' trained its private soldiers to get the Dutch out of Taiwan in 1661. However it became a home for many foreign consultants two centuries later. Nowadays a nice tourist location.
