Kaohsiung, Taiwan - Cijin-Gushan Ferry Full Tour HD (2017)
The Cijin–Gushan ferry connects the Cijin and Gushan Districts of Kaohsiung, Taiwan. It is popular with tourists visiting the attractions of Cijin Island.
A ride on the ferry costs NT$15 per one-way ride. The journey takes about five minutes from Gushan to Cijin, an island which has seafood restaurants, traditional markets and a beach for tourists.

Kaohsiung City, Taiwan - Part 1
Kaohsiung City (高雄市) is one of the five special municipalities in Taiwan. Located in southern-western Taiwan and facing the Taiwan Strait, it is by area the largest municipality, at 2,947.62 km2, and second most populous (by urban area) with a population of approximately 2.77 million. Since its start at 17th century, Kaohsiung has grown from a small trading village, into the political, economic, transportation, manufacturing, refining, shipbuilding, and industrial center of southern Taiwan. It is a global city with sufficiency as categorized by Globalization and World Cities Research Network in 2012.
The Kaohsiung International Airport serving the city is the third largest airport in Taiwan. The Port of Kaohsiung is the largest harbor in Taiwan, but not officially part of Kaohsiung City. The southern terminal of the Freeway 1 is in Kaohsiung. For north-south travel on railway, the city is served by the Taiwan Railways Administration stations of TRA Western Line and Pingtung Line. The Taiwan High Speed Rail also provides fast and frequent railway connection to Taipei. The Kaohsiung Mass Rapid Transit, the city's subway system, launched in early 2008. Kaohsiung was the host city of the World Games 2009, a multi-sport event primarily composed of sports not featured in the Olympic Games. Travelling through Taiwan: National Palace Museum, Chiang Kai Shek AND Longshan Temple!
Hi everyone!
In this vlog I went to three (maybe four) places! National Palace Museum, Chiang Kai Shek, Longshan Temple and Night Market! It was because of this day that I aimed to go to at least 3 places whenever I had a free day.
Sorry I kept complaining about the rain, I don't really mind it... but mix it with humidity and I've got a HUUUUGE problem. I'm not very used to humid heat, so it being hot was already difficult, but each time it rained I cried a little inside.
This day in Taiwan was an eye-opener for me, it taught me that the only person that was holding me back was myself. To be able to travel to so many places in one day showed me that I worried too much.

Tourism official says Kaohsiung remains beautiful, despite explosions
While the film Lucy is expected to provide a boost to Taipei, recent gas explosions have sent the wrong message about Kaohsiung. Rumors have even surfaced that the petrochemical leaks which caused the explosions have also made the southern city’s air toxic. Today a tourism official said that’s not true and, apart from a few affected areas, Kaohsiung remains clean and beautiful. These groups of Chinese tourists seen from above show that Sizih Bay Scenic Area remains popular. The bay has not been removed from travel itineraries.Tour GuideGenerally, we’re not going to the Sanduo area or the night markets around the disaster area. We want to avoid travel problems that could be caused by going there.Tour guides say the explosions haven’t had a noticeable impact on visitors.After the explosions, rumors online painted Kaohsiung as a toxin-filled city. Join us on our weekly hike to Kaohsiung's Monkey Mountain - Chai Shan! This video explains how to climb Kaohsiung's Monkey Mountain, Monkey Mountain trailhead location and how to get there, what you will need to bring and even where you can have a delicious traditional Chinese breakfast after your climb.

There are two main trailheads to climb Monkey Mountain: Shou Shan (near the zoo) and Chai Shan (further north). I prefer Chai Shan, and I'll show you here how to climb yourself!
Time: 1.5 - 3 hour round trip (depending on climbing speed and how many photos you take!)
Bring: Water, bug repellent, walking shoes, comfortable clothing
Optional: sweat towel (May to October), bandaids
Do not bring: food of any kind, plastic bags or wrappers (or the monkeys will be attracted to you - please note food is prohibited on the mountain for this reason)
Getting there
- Public transport: use google maps transit directions for bus routes (navigate to the 7-11 at the link below). Please note these often do not run before 7 am.
- Walking: the trailhead is about a half hour walk from Aozidi MRT station.
- Taxi/Uber: Show one of the addresses below to your driver (I recommend asking him to take you to the 7 Eleven as it's a major landmark and walking from there). The fare from Aozhidi MRT station (taxi rank at exit 2) is approximately nt120.
- Public bicycle
---City bike: You can use your credit card to rent these, but you keep paying until they are returned to a station. The closest station is at this 7 Eleven, a 10 minute walk from the mountain.
--- O-bike: Download the o-bike app to find an available bike. Once you arrive at the mountain, you can leave the bike there and it will likely still be there for you to re-rent when you come back down (and there are often extra available O-bikes at the trailhead or nearby).

UK: Bloody human slaughterhouse comes to London for World Vegan Day
PETA animal rights activists marked World Vegan day in London on Tuesday by staging a mock slaughter of two of their members.
First the activists were suspended by their ankles and afterwards two other members pretended to kill them with knives.
The protesters are hoping to raise awareness of animal slaughter and want to encourage people to go vegan.

We really do feel if the general public knew what happened to billions of animals, if they realized that that steak they’re buying on a supermarket shelf was a cow, who had his throat slit while fully conscious, whose life was just ripped away from him, they wouldn’t want to eat that - there are so many better alternatives.
It is such needless violence, it’s been proven time and time again how much better a vegan diet is for both, your health and the environment, so on World Vegan Day we really should be looking inside ourselves and thinking what can I do to end this violence.
