Chitrakoot is a natural waterfall located to the west of Jagdalpur, in Bastar district in the Indian state of Chhattisgarh on the Indravati River. It is located at a distance of 38 kilometres (24 mi) to the west of Jagdalpur. The height of the falls is about 29 metres (95 ft) It is the widest fall in India. Because of its width and wide spread during the monsoon season, it is often called the Niagara Falls of India.

जगदलपुर। चित्रकोट, भारत का सबसे चौड़ा जलप्रपात है . यहां इन दिनों प्रति सेकंड 23 हजार क्यूबिक मीटर पानी 98 फीट गहरी खाई में गिर रहा है. विशाल जलराशि से उत्पन्न् गर्जना आगंतुक को आनंद से से भर देता है. ये जलप्रपात जो भारत का नियाग्रा फाल्स के नाम से जाना जाता है उसकी सुंदरता ने पूर्व राष्ट्रपति डॉ. एपीजे अब्दुल कलाम और प्रतिभादेवी सिंह पाटिल जैसी हस्तियों को मन्त्रमुघ्ध कर चुकी है. अब इसकी सुंदरता राष्ट्रपति रामनाथ कोविंद को भी लुभाने वाली है जब वे यहां 25 जुलाई को आएंगे

On the way, we eat a ton of Indian food and try to cross massive flood plains in India's wettest and greenest state, Chhattisgarh.
Chitrakote Falls is located in the lush Bastar region. Jugdalpur is the major city in the Bastar region.
Bastar is also a region known for Naxalite activity. I'll talk about how safe Bastar is and whether you should travel there are not.
