The park remains open from 9 am to 7 pm.

Cole Park, Tezpur is a very picturesque park near the centre of Tezpur. It has recently been renamed as Chitralekha Udyan although both names are synonymous. The name is after a famous character in Agnigarh Aniruddha-Usha love story It has had a long tradition of hosting painting/drawing competitions for the nearby schools due the various features it possesses. The famous Bhomoraguri inscription which recorded the ancient plans to build a bridge across the Brahmaputra where the current Kolia Bhomora Setu exists has been transported to this park for public viewing.The park has facilities for paddle boating on the pond. It recently has added ' Bumping Cars ' to its list of amusements . Primary viewing attractions for children is a jet-fighter model Valiant MIG 21 the first supersonic aircraft for the Indian Air Force capable of travelling at Mach 2 ( with engines removed and fixed ) and a large concrete-made map of India ( states as before year 2000).

Chitralekha udyan also known as Cole park is located in the centre of Tezpur.Its natural beauty will defintely mesmerize you.The park is clean,peaceful and well maintained.The park has facilities for paddle boating on the pond.The important attractions of the park include two huge decorated stone pillars and sculptural ruins of Bamuni hills belonging to the 9th & 10th centuries.A jet fighter model valliant MIG 21 the first supersonic aircraft for the Indian Air Force and a large concrete-made map of India is also a primary view attractions.Really an awesome and pollution free place,so kindly visit it once.

I happened to visit Chitralekha Udyan yesterday after a gap of around three years. This park was previously known as 'Col Park'. I was very much distressed to see the present scene of the park. One of the main destination of tourist in Tezpur, Assam, The only water sports / mini swimming pool along with children play pan & other equipment for children to play has gone beyond repair. It reflects lackluster attitude of the management ..
