Victorian Fish Bar (1962)
Kensington, London.
At The Contented Sole fish bar has been decorated with all the trimmings of Queen Victoria's days.
C/U of chips being scooped out of a fryer onto a plate. M/S of the chef passing the plate to a waitress - both wear old fashioned clothes. M/S of the waitress taking the plate upstairs, in the foreground is a gramophone, stuffed fish hang on the wall.
She serves the food to a group of trendy young people. In the middle of all the diners a man in a bowler hat plays a honky tonk piano. Various shots of the diners, the food their eating and the piano player - giving the general impression this restaurant is a hip and swinging place (or plaice, even).
M/S of the chef dipping a raw fish in batter and placing it in the fryer. C/U of the chief smiling. He takes the cooked fish and places it in a special carrying box decorated with a newspaper print pattern. He passes the box over the counter to a young man. M/S of the man walking up the street with his posh fish and chips box.

Fine Dining at Langdon Court Hotel
With a focus on innovative flavours, a commitment to local produce, and the South West Chef of the Year at the helm, it’s no wonder that the Restaurant at Langdon Court has so frequently been awarded some of the country’s top accolades.
Your dining experience at Langdon Court - whether you opt for lunch at the Brasserie or the opulent fine dining Tasting Menu - will effortlessly blend tradition with modernity. Our private dining rooms have all the grandeur one would expect from a Jacobean Manor House, but the cooking techniques we employ are at the cutting edge.
At the age of just 23, our Head Chef Jamie Rogers made it through to the quarterfinals of the BBC’s MasterChef: The Professionals. Competing against chefs from the Ritz and Claridges, Jamie’s exacting standards and passion for fine dining evidently made quite the impression on the judges.
Jamie is firmly committed to the use of top-quality ingredients, which are always sourced as locally as is possible. Menus are prepared in synchronicity with the seasons, ensuring that only the best British produce is used. His talent and hard work recently paid off again when he was named South West Chef of the Year.

Lidwell Chapel ,Little Haldon ,The Haldon Hills ,Devon ,England
Haunted ~Lidwell Chapel
The rolling hills of Devon are steeped in mystery and intrigue with numerous strange myths and legends stretching back down through the centuries. None is so gruesome however as the tale of the murderous monk who inflicted carnage on the secluded valley where his chapel was situated.Even more disturbing however is the revelation that there is more than an element of truth in the story. So much so that it is probable that this Devonian man of the cloth is England's first documented serial killer. On the slopes of Haldon Hill lie the remains of Lidwell Chapel, the site of one of Devon's more macabre tales. The name, Lidwell, is actually a corruption of 'Lady's Well' and the chapel is dedicated to St. Mary Magdalene. Like so many other churches and chapels, it was built on what was formerly a pagan place of worship, a sacred well, probably dedicated to the goddess of spring. There is, too, evidence of the original well and this can be seen in a corner of the grounds. This isolated ruin, adjacent to farmland and situated to the northwest of Teignmouth, was, in medieval times, the focal point of a small settlement and leper sanctuary where the monks could provide care for the sufferers, all of whom would be compelled to live outside their community. The legend concerns one monk in particular, a hermit or recluse who lived at Lidwell during the early part of the fourteenth century. This man is said to have lured passing travellers into the chapel where he would rob them, murder them and dispose of their bodies by throwing them down the well. In support of the legend, the Bishop's register of the year 1329 contains an entry relating to the execution of a Hermit Monk who had been convicted of murder. In support of the legend, the Bishop's register of the year 1329 contains an entry relating to the execution of a Hermit Monk who had been convicted of murder.
To visit the site take the Exeter road (A379) from Teignmouth, pass the Teignmouth golf course on the left and park in the parking area on the right hand side of the road. Walk back about 200 yards to a footpath on your left. Climb over an iron bar and take the track veering right to drop steeply down into a wood. At the fenceline a stile takes you into a steep field. The chapel is about 50 yards downhill to the left.
