Shanghai's Crazy World of Chocolate
Have you ever wondered what the Eifel tower would look like if it were made out of chocolate?! Or how about a carriage, that was made out of a giant pumpkin, that was made out of chocolate?
Well now you know. Welcome to Shanghai's World of Chocolate Wonderland, a feast for the eyes, and the tongue. Towering architectural achievements made with only some tricky use of chocolate boggle the mind.
Chocolate is amazingly versatile and can be molded into almost any shape.

At first when I walked in, I didn't realize everything here is made of chocolate. Then I took a careful look, and realized it's all real chocolate and all made with chocolate. I feel shocked and it's really beautiful.
But that wasn't all!
That's right, chocolate fashion! A special cat walk had models flaunting edible outfits. The audience was melted to their seat.

My strongest feeling after wearing clothes is that I might be willing to eat them.
[Yu Mengxian, Model]:
The most difficult part of walking the catwalk in chocolate is that I was afraid the chocolates will drop or break into pieces.
This is already the second chocolate fashion show in Shanghai. The last one was in December 2011.
So if you're in Shanghai, stop by the World of Chocolate Wonderland. It's seriously sweet!

Julia Zotter (27), lebt seit einem Jahr in Shanghai – und leitet dort als Geschäftsführerin die Niederlassung der zotter-Schokoladen. Ganz nach dem Vorbild der gläsernen Manufaktur in der Steiermark wurde im Mai 2014 in der 30 Mio. Einwohner zählenden Metropole ein Schokoladentheater mit Verkostungstour und einer kleinen Produktion eröffnet. China ist für Julia ein besonderes Land, hat sie doch bereits als Schülerin während eines Auslandjahres bereits dort gelebt. Die Sprache ist ihr nicht fremd, die Mentalität der Menschen fast schon vertraut – und dennoch ist der Alltag von vielen Herausforderungen und Überraschungen geprägt.

How Bad is Pickpocketing in China? Can I avoid it?
Chinese pickpockets are second to none, and probably the world's most skilled at lifting phones, wallets, money and and anything that you may be carrying with you. How do you avoid them? What should you do if you discover one or see someone picking another person's pocket? It is very important to understand the dangers associated with pickpocket gangs and also how being a foreigner can be a help and a hindrance in this particular situation.
In this video I talk about crime, pickpocketing, theft, and generally how to deal with these things in China and abroad.
Having grown up in one of the most crime ridden countries in the world, I am fully aware of my surroundings and have yet to have anything stolen from me in China, but almost 100% of my ex-pat and Chinese friends have had items stolen from them, I'm going to try and explain to you why this is the case.

Playa Maya Water Park opened in Shanghai in 2013. It's easily accessible my metro. Just take Line 9 to SheShan Station then follow the crowds up the escalation and across the overpass to the free shuttle buses. Be careful, though, because there are two destinations. One route will take you to Playa Maya while the other will take you to the amusement park Happy Valley.
Admissions was 180 RMB per adult. If you enter the park after 4:00 pm, the cost of admissions drops to 140 RMB. You're not allowed to take any water or food into the park, which inevitable means that food and beverage cost a bit more inside the park than outside. Truthfully, you could probably sneak some snacks and drinks in if you wrap them in clothing or towels and put them at the bottom of your bag. ;)
The park was TONS of fun! It opened at 10:00 am and it was starting to get busy by the time we arrived at 10:45 ish. We played the whole day and stayed until 4:30.
There are lots of slides but seem to be more group/tube slides than single person slides, which we loved. Kids have to be at least 130 cm tall for most of the slides. There's a large section exclusively for children. Playa Maya also has a cool scuba diving pool, but it's small and pricey, 180 RMB for just 20 minutes. They also offer underwater fashion shoots and wedding shoots, but those cost even more. There's certainly something for everyone!
We definitely hope to go back next year!
