Sacred Valley of The Incas Private Tour (The Hidden Gems) By Peru Summit Adventures
Sacred Valley Of The Incas Private Tours (Pisac, Maras Salt Ponds, Moray, Chinchero, Ollantaytambo) is a relaxed and incomparably beautiful and tucked under the tawny skirts of formidable foothills of the Urubamba range, long the home of attractive colonial towns, isolated weaving villages, the Rio (river) Urubamba, massive Incan agricultural terraces, ancient Incan temples. Explore these hidden places with a private guide at your side. The magnificent Incan archaeological sites found from Pisaq to Ollantaytambo and beyond – some of the finest not only in Peru but also in all of the Americas, are testaments to the region’s immense ceremonial importance. The Incas built several of the empire’s greatest estates, temples, and royal palaces between the sacred centers of Cusco and Machu Picchu positioned like great bookends at the south and north ends of the valley. Through the valley rolls the revered Río Urubamba (called in Quechua Willcamayu by the Incas; today it is also called the Vilcanota in one section), a pivotal religious element of the Incas’ cosmology. The Incas believed not only that the flow of the Urubamba was inexorably tied to the constellations and the mountain peaks, but also that the river was the earthbound counterpart of the Milky Way. With the river as its source, the fertile valley was a major center of agricultural production for the Incas, who grew native Andean crops such as white corn, coca, potatoes, and other fruits and vegetables in expansive fields and along spectacularly terraced mountain slopes. The valley continues to serve as a breadbasket for Cusco, providing grains, potatoes, peaches, avocados, and much more. Join us on this once in lifetime experience!

Peru. The Sacred Valley of the Incas. Cusco, Pisac
It was here on the shores of the sacred Lake Titicaca that the Creator started his holy work and created individuals and nations. He fashioned human beings from clay and breathed life and soul into each one. To each nation He gave a language to speak and songs to sing. To humans He gave food and seeds for them to sow. He painted the clothes each nation was to wear. He taught man to pray… It was the beginning of the Beginning… as the ancient legend tells us…

Ollantaytambo & Pisac
Ollantaytambo is a town in southern Peru, located in the district of Ollantaytambo, province of Urubamba, Cusco region. It is approximately 60 km to the northwest of the city of Cusco, situated at an altitude of 2792 meters above sea level.
Ollantaytambo, which means something like Storehouse of my Lord, is thought to be the only remaining example of pre-Columbian urban planning. The buildings and courtyards as well as the narrow lanes have their original form. The straight, narrow streets today form fifteen square blocks, or canchas, which contain one entrance to a central quadrangle which is surrounded by houses. A number of fine colonial houses are constructed on finely-worked Inca walls of dark pink rock. The original Inca settlement constituted an administrative, religious, agricultural and military complex.
On a hillside overlooking the town is a monumental Incan complex, commonly referred to as a fortaleza (fortress) due to its extraordinary walls. It was in fact a tambo, or inn for the Inca or his nobles while traveling on official business, and was strategically located to dominate the Sacred Valley of the Incas. It was here where Manco Inca retreated to in order to amass his armies after the fall of Cusco to the Spanish conquistadores.
According to legend, as documented by Garcilaso de la Vega, the people were commanded by the Inca god Viracocha to build the city.
Písac is a Peruvian village in the Sacred Valley on the Urubamba River. The village is well-known for its market every Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday, an event which attracts heavy tourist traffic from nearby Cusco. One of its more notable features is a large pisonay tree which dominates the central plaza.[1] The sanctuary of Huanca, home to a sacred shrine, is also near the village. Pilgrims travel to the shrine every September.
The area is perhaps best known for its Incan ruins, known as Inca Písac, which lie atop a hill at the entrance to the valley. The ruins are separated along the ridge into four groups: Pisaqa, Intihuatana, Q'allaqasa, and Kinchiracay.[2] Intihuatana includes a number of bathes and temples. The Temple of the Sun, a volcanic outcrop carved into a hitching post for the Sun (or Inti), is the focus, and the angles of its base suggest that it served some astronomical function. Q'allaqasa, which is built onto a natural spur and overlooks the valley, is known as the citadel.[3]
The hillside is lined with agricultural terraces constructed by the Inca and still in use today. With military, religious, and agricultural structures, the site served at least a triple purpose. Besides a country estate, it is thought that Písac defended the southern entrance to the Sacred Valley, while Choquequirao defended the western entrance and the fortress at Ollantaytambo the northern.
The narrow rows of terraces beneath the citadel are thought to represent the wing of a partridge (pisaca), from which the village and ruins get their name.[3] The birds are also common in the area at dusk. (wikipedia)

Sacred Valley of the Incas Peru, Machu Picchu Cusco Tour, Pisac, Ollantaytambo, Moray Salineras Tour
This is a great one day tour, where you can visit some amazing archaeological site such as: Pisac, Ollanataytambo, Chinchero and the Pisac Market enjoying all the magnificent views of the Sacred Valley of the Incas, snow-capped mountains and Chinchero´s plateau.
The Sacred Valley of the Incas was undoubtedly a key area of settlement to the Incas. Its agreeable climate and fertile plains make a rare and fruitful combination for the high Andes. It was also the route to the jungle and therefore an area with access to the fruits and plants of the tropical lowlands. The Sacred Valley served as a buffer zone, protecting Cusco from incursions of the Antis, the fierce jungle tribes who from time to time raided the highlands.
Today the Sacred Valley remains a lush agricultural region supplying the city of Cusco with much of its produce such as maize, fruit and vegetables
Huchuy Qosqo, Exploring Ancient Incan Ruins in Peru
In part of my ayahuasca journey in Peru, we took a day to hike the mountains in the Sacred Valley up to Huchuy Qosqo which is a ancient Incan ruin from around the year 1420. The elevation was about 12,000 ft high, so it was a challenging hike because I was dealing with elevation sickness, but I am so glad that I did it and it was well worth it.
