Chorley Little Theatre present - Pals
CADOS present a very special play about memories, remembrance, and friendship.
Set across the last century, a survivor of the Somme recalls his time in World War I, and the ‘pals’ who never returned home. Opening up to young student Tom, veteran soldier Bill recalls the social conditions that lead to the war, the horrors he saw, and the aftermath that still shakes him today. Reflecting on past decisions, the story of a group of young soldiers is brought vividly to life with particular memory of 1st July 1916 and going ‘over the top’ for that fateful battle.
Commissioned especially for the 100th Anniversary, Mark Jones is the CADOS Artistic Chairman, and director of Blood Brothers, Breaking The Code, Sherlock Holmes (and more)

Clementine. Blue Water Folk. Lancashire. England
This track was taken from a live recording at St. Mary's Club in Chorley on the 4th November 1996. Several concerts took place around this time billed as 'Whiskey and Water' featuring Whiskey In The Jar and the Blue Water Folk. Clemantine was somewhat of an anthem for the BWF with local character and Undertaker, Bernard Kenyon, acting as a conductor for the appreciative audience. Sung here by Ian Grime who sadly died less than two years later.
This year(2018) both groups got together for a sell out memorial concert at Chorley Little Theatre with almost £2000.00 being raised for Derian House Childrens Hospice.
R.I.P. Ian you are and will always be sadly missed
