TUNISIA - OASI - TOZEUR- CHOTT EL JERID Sud de la Tunisie جنوب تونس

The bottom of Chott el Djerid is located between 10 and 25 meters above sea level[5]. Roughly in the shape of a tadpole, with a width of 20 km (12 mi) at its narrowest point, it reaches 250 km (160 mi) in overall length. At times, parts of it appear in various shades of white, green and purple[6]
It is the largest salt pan of the Sahara with a surface area of over 7,000 km2 (some sources state 5,000 km2). Due to the extreme climate with annual rainfall of only 100 mm and temperatures reaching 50 °C, water evaporates from the lake. In summer Chott el Djerid is almost entirely dried up, and numerous fata morganas occur.
During winter, a small tributary of water can be seen discharging into the lake.
Tozeur (Arabic: توزر Tauzar) is an oasis and a city in south west Tunisia. The city is located North West of Chott el-Djerid, in between this Chott and the smaller Chott el-Gharsa. It is the capital of the Tozeur Governorate.
With hundreds of thousands of palm trees, Tozeur is a large oasis. The dates that are exported from Tozeur are very well known. In ancient times, before the advent of motorized vehicles, the oasis was important for the transportation through the Sahara, which took place in caravans. The name of the city in antiquity was Tusuros, it was an important Roman outpost.
In the medina (old city) of Tozeur, one can find traditional architecture, fashion and workmanship. Like elsewhere in Tunisia, the local population is generally very hospitable towards tourists, and there are also many tourist facilities. From Tozeur one can make trips on a camel, explore the Sahara Desert and get to know the Chott el-Djerid, where one can see fata Morgana's.

The majority of journalists around the world have chosen to develop their subject on controversial and sensational themes: violence, war, crime. But all these facts represent only 1% of our world and its inhabitants, forgetting the remaining 99% of which we never speak.
I chose to visit every country on the planet and film them to present them in High Definition format but in a raw way, without music, without comment. Simply, reality in all its truth. Thus, you will be able to make your own idea of the world in which you live.
Currently, I have already visited nearly 170 countries and my world tour continues thanks to you who follow me.

Chott el Jerid Tunezja słone jezioro Chott el Djerid salt lake Tunisia شط الجريد
Bezodpływowe, słone jezioro w środkowo-zachodniej Tunezji. Położone w kotlinnym obniżeniu terenu.
Jezioro stanowi największy słony obszar na Saharze, liczący według różnych źródeł od 5000 km² do 7000 km² powierzchni. Ze względu na ekstremalne warunki klimatyczne, średnie roczne opady sięgające zaledwie ok. 100 mm i temperatury dochodzące do 50°C, woda wyparowuje z jeziora. W okresie letnim jezioro wysycha niemal zupełnie.
Chott el Djerid (Arabic: شط الجريد) is a large endorheic salt lake in southern Tunisia, at 33°42′N 8°26′E / 33.7°N 8.43°E / 33.7; 8.43.
It is the largest salt pan of the Sahara with a surface area of over 7,000 km² (some sources state 5,000 km²). Due to the extreme climate with annual rainfall of only 100 mm and temperatures reaching 50° C, water evaporates from the lake. In summer Chott el Djerid is almost entirely dried up, and numerous fata morganas occur.
South of Chott el Djerid, the Grand Erg Oriental desert begins. The towns of Kebili and Douz are also located south of the lake.
The lake can be crossed by foot and even by car, but this is very dangerous since the salt crust isn't always too firm.
Chott el Djerid was used as a filming location for the Star Wars series, among others.

Tozeur - Arabic Town close to Chott El Djerid in Tunisia. Tozeur is one of those little Arabic towns which still remained in the past. Tozeur is famous for its mud brick architecture which had been used mainly in small Arabic villages in the past. Here in Tozeur even the minaret and the mosque were built from mud bricks.

TOZEUR TUNISIA - TOUR OF THE DESERT OASIS توزر (travel vlog 2019)
Welcome to TOZEUR Tunisia. This is an enchanting palm oasis located in southwest Tunisia, on the edge of the Sahara. While the surrounding area appears desolate, the oasis springs up like a mirage and buzzing with activity. TOZEUR is known for its old Medina and unique brick architecture, that make you feel like you have stepped back in time. Today we are going to uncover the mysteries within this unique desert community.
Tucked away in the peaceful oasis is Diar Abou Habibi, a chilled out accommodation with uniquely decorated cabins. It’s an excellent base for tourists wanted to visit the nearby Star Wars sets, salt flats, and Atlas Mountains.
Next, we visit the date farm. Date production plays an important role in the economy of the oasis, as it provides many jobs to farmers and exporters. Tunisian dates are exported to more than 80 countries. The cultivation of the dates requires lots of manual labor.
On the outskirts of the oasis, we visit a brickwork factory. TOZEUR is famous for its yellowish/brown bricks, which are made by hand using clay. They are a passed down tradition and keep the houses cool during the hot 325 days of sun.
Lastly, we enjoy a Tunisian feast including Tunisian wine before checking out the nightlife at a local hookah lounge.
