Crete, Chania. Beaches Agii Apostoli, Iguana, Chrissi Akti.
Looking for a beach in Chania? There are 3 nice beaches located not far from the city (4 km). One of them is the famous sandy Blue Flag beach of Agii Apostoli (the Holy Apostles) . Agii Apostoli (the Holy Apostles) is situated in village of Kato Daratso, only 4 kilometers west of Chania and 20 kilometers west of Chania’s International Airport, Crete.
There are frequent public transportation via bus to the center of Chania city.
There is also an ample car space where you can safely park your car.
The first cove at west is located just besides the east edge of Glaros beach. It is a beautiful sandy beach with all amenities and a large parking place nearby and easily accessed. A small peninsula is formed on the west side of the beach, which protects it from the winds. On the peninsula there is a nice park, which is ideal for walking, and the scenic chapel of the Holy Apostles after which the wider area takes its name.
A second “twin” semicircular cove is formed some meters to the east, with beautiful greenish waters and fine sand. The rock formations on the side are amazing. Beside the east end of the beach, there is a small pine grove extending to the east till Chrissi Akti.
You can access both coves by bus from Chania or by walking. Moreover, Agii Apostoli is ideal for biking, as there are wide paved road for bikes and walkers. The area has many options for accommodation, with high quality hotels around.

Located in picturesque Chania, Hotel Elotia offers a rooftop breakfast room, an outdoor pool and a snack bar. The popular Chryssi Akti is just 150 yards away. Free WiFi is available throughout.Featuring views to the garden, the mountain or the Cretan Sea, rooms are air-conditioned, and include a private bathroom with shower, a fridge and a balcony. Chryssi Akti is just a short walk along the beaches west of Chania. Hotel Anais Summerstar was perfectly ok to live, although there was a lot of concrete and little greenery. Good swimming pool and an excellent snack bar with good service.
Chryssi Akti ligger bare en kort spasertur langs strendene vest for Chania. Hotell Anais Summerstar var helt greit å bo på, selv om der var mye betong og lite grønnarealer. Bra svømmebasseng og en utmerket snack bar med god service
