Opening of Ordination Service Christ Church Fredericton NB
Video of the opening phases of the Ordination Service at Christ Church Cathedral, Fredericton, New Brunswick on Sunday June 24, 2018 - observed as the Birth of John the Baptist. Included are the hymn (All People that on Earth Do Dwell), opening prayers (lead by The Bishop of Fredericton, Rt Rev'd David Edwards) and first lesson. The Bishop improvises in celebrating the 15th anniversary of the consecration of Archbishop Claude Miller as a Bishop in the Anglican Church of Canada. The video has some elements of improvisation as it was only the second time I had attended a service at this cathedral. But I had brought a video camera and at some stage the Cathedral's audio could be used to replace the audio on this initial recording. Created with Corel VideoStudio.

St Anthony's Catholic Church, Fredericton, NB
The original Name of St. Anthony's Parish was Saint Mary's Parish and was established in 1887, which was separated from St. Dunstan's Parish. The land and lumber were donated.
Culturally, the original community was diverse. It included Aboriginals, Acadians, English, Irish and Lebanese. Above all, they treasured the Roman Catholic Faith as it enriched their lives from birth to death.
The third pastor at St. Anthony’s suggested the name for the town. When a meeting was held on June 21, 1917, at St. Anthony’s Hall several names were put forward, such as, Eastbank, Brooklyn, Haig and Riverton. Many people favoured retaining Gibson as the names of the whole town. Fr. Murphy suggested Devon because it was the first town incorporated after the appointment of the Duke of Devonshire as Governor General of Canada. The name was accepted and Devon became the only town in New Brunswick with this name.
With changing demographics, in 2016 Bishop Robert Harris began a process of realignment and revitalization within the Diocese of Saint John. In 2018, it was announced that St. Anthony's, St. Theresa's and St. Patrick's (Stanley) would be realigned into one new parish, Our Lady of Peace Parish.
