The Christ the King statue is a Catholic monument and shrine overlooking the city of Lubango in the South of Angola. It was inspired by the Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro , as one of only four in the world. This 30-metre-high white marble statue was built in 1957.The monument was designed in the 1950s by Portuguese engineer of Madeira Frazão Sardinha, and is listed as an Angolan World Heritage Site as of April 18, 2014.

'검정 예수상을 만져라'...필리핀 '블랙 나자렌 축제' / YTN

필리핀 마닐라에서 매년 1월 9일 검정 예수상과 십자가가 거리를 행진하는 '블랙 나자렌 축제'가 열렸습니다.

축제 현장에는 수많은 카톨릭 신자들이 몰려 십자가를 만지려고 시도하거나 수건을 던지며 소리를 지릅니다.

십자가를 옮기는 자원봉사자들은 사람들이 던진 수건을 십자가에 문지른 뒤 다시 던져줍니다.

필리핀 사람들은 검정색 십자가에 닿은 수건으로 몸을 닦으면 기적이 이뤄진다고 믿습니다.

경찰은 검은 예수상이 7km를 행진한 정오까지 모두 150만 명의 인파가 몰려들었다고 밝혔습니다.

마닐라 당국은 사람들이 십자가상을 만지려고 몰려들면서 축제 5시간 만에 최소 150명이 다쳤다고 전하기도 했습니다.

이 블랙 나자렌 십자가상은 1606년 스페인 가톨릭 선교사들이 멕시코에서 들여왔습니다.

조금 특별하게 새해를 맞이하는 지구촌 사람들을 함께 만나보시죠!

색깔 축제를 즐기기 위해 앙골라에서 왔어요. 매우 재밌고 즐거워요.

이른바 '색깔 축제'라고 불리는 새해맞이 행사입니다.

새로운 시작을 상징하는 흰 옷을 입고 다양한 색을 온 몸에 바르며 새해를 축하하는데요.

인종 차별에 반대한다는 깊은 의미를 담고 있다는군요.

I left Lubango rather late, knowing that I have less than 200km to do for the day. I'm very excited though because today is the day I get to ride the Serra da Leba pass! I leave the city in the pouring rain, but soon I'm out of it and a signpost catches my eye. It says ‘Cristo Rei’ and points to the left. This rings a bell, someone told me that there's a big statue of Jesus Christ same as in Rio de Janeiro in Lubango. I am treated to a long and winding mountaintop road and at the end of it, an approximately 27m tall statue entitled Christ the King. I get some beautiful photos and drone shots, but soon the rain catches up to me and I have to be on my way. About 30-40km down the road I enter the Serra da Leba area and first turn off to the viewpoint. I am treated to a breathtaking scene and the sheer beauty and magnitude make me feel somewhat emotional. Almost a double-rainbow moment ;) I take some photos and videos and then begin the descent down the pass. I take it slow because the first 7 hairpin turns are quite frankly terrifying. The rest of the way down is also a delight and soon I am back on the flat green plains. Another 60km or so later I go down another, significantly smaller pass and suddenly I am in a desert! I stop for some more photos and videos and then it's once again a race against the sun as I'm trying to reach Namibe before nightfall.

현 사무관, 최근 앙골라에서 생계형 범죄가 많이 발생한다고요?

아프리카 2위 산유국인 앙골라에서 저유가 추세가 장기화됨에 따라 경제 불황이 이어져 생계형 범죄가 기승을 부리고 있습니다.

최근 발생한 범죄 대부분은 사람들이 많이 다니는 지역에서, 대낮에 발생하고 있습니다.

특히 군인이나 경찰을 사칭한 범죄 등 범죄 유형과 범죄 대상도 다양해지고 있습니다.

앙골라 현지에 계신 분들은 피해가 없도록 주의하시기 바랍니다.

현 사무관, 앙골라에서 범죄를 당하지 않으려면 어떤 점을 주의해야 할까요?

먼저 앙골라에 계신 분들은 개인보다 단체로 움직이시고 자동차로 이동할 것을 권합니다.

특히 많은 현금을 들고 다니는 것은 범죄의 표적이 될 수 있으니 자제하고, 야간외출도 하지 않는 게 좋습니다.

외교부는 현재 앙골라 전역에 여행 유의를 뜻하는 남색 경보를 발령하고 있습니다.
