More “Illegal” Temples on Qinling Mountains Destroyed: Workers Demolishing Longhua Temple

Chinese Communist Party refuses to process applications for Buddhist and Daoist temples, then goes on a rampage to bring them all down.
Since July last year, the government is coming for the religious sites across the Qinling Mountains, according to a classified document, issued by the United Front Work Department, or UFWD, of China’s northwestern province of Shaanxi, and obtained by Bitter Winter.
In July, Longhua Temple of Taiyi town in the Chang’an district, under the jurisdiction of Xi’an city, was destroyed under the auspices of not having a permit.

Shaolin dharma cudgel
Dharma cudgel, also called Shaolin hand cane, is a traditional martial art tool unique to Shaolin Temple. It is usually made of sandalwood or other durable hardwood that has great ductility and hardness. The dharma cudgel is based on the Shaolin cudgel, but it also a handle. Combined with various cudgel, hook, sword and knife positions, the moves are powerful and flexible. Practitioners need to use the feet and hands together. Xinyi Liuhe Quan belongs to the Arts of Xingyi and Xinyi.Sometimes this art is called 10 Animals Xingyi and sometimes diferent. Xinyi Liuhe Quan is very famous among Chinese Moslems. And they are still considered the best among Xinyi Liuhe Quan Practitioners.
Acording to Legend the Xingyi Quan and Shaolin Xinyi Quan was created by Song Dynasty General and folk Hero Yue Fei. Its said he was instructed by his second teacher Zhou Tong in spearplay an archery. And by mastering the spearplay on a very high level he layed the foundation for later creationg the Xingyi Quan.
According to written information which survived to this day there is no source which states that it was like that. It is only said that he learned Archery from Zhou Tong and not Spearplay.
He should only have learned spearplay from his first teacher Chen Guang.
But Chinese History is very special. That something isnt recorded does not mean that it not might happen. So we cant know for sure.
Official history most likely credits the creation of Xingyi and Xinyi and also some other sets you also find in China or in the Shaolin Curriculuum to Ji Longfeng from Ming Dynasty.
Ji Longfeng( Or Ji Jike or also Ji Gong) was a highy respected Martial Artist who had nicknames as the Divine Spear or at the later part of his life even God of the Lance. Its said he travelled across China where he came to Shaolin temple. There the monks were impressed by his fighting skills and he was allowed to stay there. Which he did for ten years. In this years he should have created the Xinyi( Heart and Intention Boxing ) which had later been modifed to be Xingyi Quan by Li Nunneng.
This is at least one version of the story. Anyway its a wonderful art I hope you will enjoy.

Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism,
and it is not uncommon for temples
to be devoted to all three.
Taoism, which is the oldest Chinese
religious philosophy, aims at personal
perfection through an understanding
and conformity with the principles of
nature, or the Tao. Most Taoist gods
are actually historical people who exhibited
extraordinary spiritual powers as a result
of being in tune with nature, or the Tao.
The practice of Tai Chi has Taoist origins,
in that it seeks to brings the basic elements of nature,
the Yin and the Yang into balance within the individual.
For the Chinese, the material world
and the spiritual world are one, and
these temples provide a bridge
between everyday life and its
underlying spiritual essence.
Singapore's oldest Chinese temple,
the Temple of Heavenly Happiness,
was built in 1840 as a joss house.
It was the first stop for all new arrivals,
where they would give thanks to Ma-chu-po,
the Mother of Heavenly Sages, for
their safe journey over the sea.
The Sakya Muni Buddha Gaya Temple,
or the Temple of 1000 Lights, was
built entirely by a Thai monk named
Vutthisasara. The 50-foot Buddha
encircled by a nimbus of 1000 lights
creates the feeling of the great wats
of Thailand...
