Songpan was the 6th place we visited in our China Tour (see We arrived in Songpan in the afternoon. We had still some time to view the old town. The old town of Songpan has still its city walls with city gates. Within these city walls you find some nice streets and wooden bridges. The town suggests that you are in the old China.
The next day we visited Huanglong National Park. Huanglong was declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco in 1992. Huanglong is known for its colorful pools and the nice waterfalls. And indeed, it was awesome.
On our way from Songpan to Huanglong we passed a pass of 3960m altitude. Just before the top we came above the clouds. The view on the mountains with the Xuebao Ding (mountain of 5588m) was fantastic. On the way back we got the same surprise.

Himalayan yaks between Langmusi and Songpan

We followed the G213 to travel from Langmusi ( to Songpan ( This road is laying for a big part above an altitude of 2.500m. And that is the environment you can find the Himalayan yaks. We have seen plenty of yaks. Most of the yaks were watched by nomads. However the yaks are crossing the road everywhere. You have to watch out to avoid a smash with this huge animal which weights of up to 1,000 kilograms.
The Himalayan yak is called Domestic yak or Tibetan yak as well.

2012九寨沟人间仙境游：四川松潘县松州古城。松潘古称松州，追溯历史可至战国时代。公元前316年，秦灭蜀后在今松潘川主寺镇建立湔氐县；唐贞观十二年（638年），吐蕃首领松赞干布向唐求婚未允，率兵攻打松州，促成了后来的唐番连姻文成公主进藏，使大唐西部边关保持了近百年的稳定局面；明洪武十二年（1379年），置松州、潘州二卫，后并为松潘卫，从此有了松潘之名。北门镇羌门
