Tonogayato Garden, Tokyo in 4K - 殿ケ谷戸庭園●国分寺市東京都 - Japan As It Truly Is

Tonogayato Garden is one of Tokyo's finest gardens, yet one of the least known. Come and see what so many people miss out on.

Tonogayato Garden (or Tonogayato Teien, 殿ケ谷戸庭園) is in Kokubunji City, Tokyo-to. Tonogayato Garden covers 5.2 acres or 21,124 sq. meters. The original garden layout was created in 1913-15, but completed in 1929 when the founder of Mitsubishi purchased it.
For anyone going to the Ghibli Museum, it is 4 stations beyond, and makes an excellent place to see as well.

From the JR Chuo Line Kokubunji Station, Tonogayato Teien is about 2 minutes on foot.

Open 9-5 daily (last entry 4:30 PM). Closed Dec 29-Jan 1

Construction of new Shin-Shinagawa station between Shinagawa & Tamachi (2017/12/29)

View from the train of the construction of the new station between Shinagawa & Tamachi. So far the station is tentatively called Shin-Shinagawa station but the station numbering on the Yamanote Line was prepared right away for the new station which will get number JY26. The final name of the station will be revealed during Winter 2018. It should be finished by 2020, in time for the Summer Olympics of 2020.
