With Cypriot author an historian Andros Pavlidis, AKTINA TV explores a fascinating place and home of the aesthetic Agia Fotini (Agia Fotou), in the town of Agios Andronikos, Cyprus. This saint had miraculous healing powers and used mysterious holy water with therapeutic powers. Also recently, Greek Cypriots were allowed to hold a service on the saint's day in August 2015 which is covered in this documentary. The church is in a remote area below Kantara Castle and above the village of Davlos, Cyprus, and is truly an amazing artifact that needs to be preserved. AKTINA TV Report: CYPRECO Event on Lefkara Lace Embroideries
AKTINA TV report on CYPRECO's March 7, 2014 successful folk arts program in Astoria, NY which revived the centuries old craft of lace making in the village of Lefkara with the screening of a documentary, an exhibit of Lefkara embroideries and a live demonstration of the craft. During the event, CYPRECO's President, Elena Maroulleti was all presented with an honorary plaque by John Papas, President of the Enosis Lefkaraton in America in recognition of her dedication and service to promoting Lefkara and Cypriot culture. Report includes interviews and reactions from the audience. The Lefkara lace are part of the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Element Collection. AKTINA TV airs on WNYE Channel 25 in New York.
