#Asklepieion of Kos - #Jesus inscription and 1st Hospital
Asklepieion of Kos - Jesus inscription and 1st Hospital of the world, they claim. When in Kos, it is worth the trip, about 20 minutes outside of #Kos town to the ancient #Greek ruins of Asklepieion. Pretty massive site with some interesting history.
The #Asclepeion
“The Asklepieion in Kos, Dodecanese: The Asklepieion is an ancient medical centre placed 4 km to the south east of Kos Town, beyond Platani village. It dates from the first half of the 3rd century BC and it was built to honour the god of health and medicine, Asklepios, after the death of the famous ancient Greek physician, Hippocrates. The characteristic symbol of this institution was a snake, as Greeks honoured this animal due to its ability in terms of selecting curative” - Source:
The old #temple up top where the Jesus symbol or inscription is still to be found to this day… Some say it reads, #ICXP (Jesus Christ)…
On the east side there is a large marble plaque and a column capital on which a cross and the byzantine letters IC. XC Jesus Christ) have been carved. View of the rooms and the Asklepios tempel on the third terrace. This was the altar of the Christian Church Our Lady of the grove”. Source:
Did not find the ancient fish circle symbol of Jesus here, but any least we found something! Always interesting. What is also interesting is that the Apostle Paul landed on Kos island on his way back to Jerusalem by boat and spent the night here. Who knows, maybe right up here at this church! Here is the Bible Verse on Paul’s stop-over and the only time the Greek island of Cos/Kos is mentioned:
After we had torn ourselves away from them, we put out to sea and sailed straight to Kos. The next day we went to Rhodes and from there to Patara.” Acts 21:1

Agios Stefanos A Paradise in Kos Island - Greece 2018
One of the most photographed beaches. It combines the beauty of nature with important historical sites such as the ruins of early Christian churches, which are just a few meters from the sea. The beautiful landscape is completed by Castri, a small rocky island, with diameter of 50 meters, just across the middle of the Gulf from where the small chapel of St. Nicholas emerges.
Well organized, with large numbers of visitors, it offers several amenities and a variety of water sports.
The beach of Agios Stefanos is about 3 km Northeast of the village of Kefalos.
To visit it you can follow the road leading out of the village of Kefalos and turn right to the road that descends down to the beach.
Greek Easter - Good Friday the Epitaph procession
Religion is a major aspect of Greek society and therefore, Easter is one of the biggest celebrations.
The corresponding Greek word for Easter is “Lambri” meaning glorious or bright. As bright is the meaning of the resurrection of Christ, as glorious is the foretell that death is not the end.
All over the country, the most important highlights of the Holy Week are associated with the Epitaph (Epitaphios), the imitation of Christ's funeral bier.
The first ritual takes place on Good Friday morning where the Epitafios, is decorated by women and children with flowers they either buy or most often pick from the countryside or their own gardens. In the evening follows the mass and letter on the Epitaph procession take place. The litany through the city or village streets.
Leaving at Athens Flat holiday rental, you are lucky to be right in the heart of the city.
100 meters downstreet on Mitropoleos str. you will find yourself in Athens Cathedral where all the government officials are attending the mass.
If this is not attractive to you, don't worry! 100 meters downstreet Apollons str. you will find yourself in Plaka. Athens’ oldest and most picturesque neighborhood.
Choose one of the dozens old little chapels and celebrate the “Epitaphios” like Greeks do, following the procession under candlelight.

Matthew 24:4-31
4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.
9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.
10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

Kos Video Map:
The beach of Agios Stefanos is located 40 kilometers southwest of Kos Town. The characteristics of the beach are the rocks near the sea, usually decorated with flowers, and the remains of early Christian churches. Another feature of the area is the small island, Kastri, a lone rock in the sea in front of the beach. The environment is quite beautiful with its shallow waters and golden sand. The beach is well organized.

Examining a 1937 Utrecht Replica of Jelling Runestone: Christ(Odin) and World Serpent together!
Hi everyone! This is the 1937 replica of the Jelling Runestone! Wow, really interesting! Inscription reads: King Haraldr ordered this monument made in memory of Gormr, his father, and in memory of Thyrvé, his mother; that Haraldr who won for himself all of Denmark and Norway and made the Danes Christian. original is 970AD! The placement of the World Serpent and Christ in one smacks of Early Christian Millenarialism. They were happy to become Christian because it all fit into existing mythology!
