gooaaaa 2018 : )
Hey guys,
I am back with another travel vid and its all about the most happening place in India,
Goaaaaaaa.
So I went to Goa during mid-October at the time of Dussehra. One can still expect crowded beaches and queues in the most popular restaurants.
We reached Goa by 12, checked in and then went straight to Sinquerim beach which is adjacent to Aguada Fort. It was 4 in the afternoon, wherein we had the exotic chicken Xacuti, Prawn Vindaloo and fish curry with some fresh juice in the beach facing restaurant. We spent our time chilling at the beach while feasting our eyes with the beautiful sundowner. If you plan on visiting the fort, don’t be late than five in the evening as the gates close by six o’clock.
We went back to the hotel, took a dip and got ready to hit the streets of Calangute Market, which is huge and crowded with the souvenir shops and tattoo places. The Calangute beach was filled with small dining arrangements dispersed everywhere. We dined in the Souza Lobo, beachfront Goan dining. One can enjoy the Goan delicacies in the candlelight and the sound of the waves up ahead engulfing you. One must try ‘Crispy Lamb Chilly' and the 'Masala Fry Prawns’. On our way back we explored the market even more and made the last stop at The Chocolate Room, which had a variety of sweet dishes to savour upon.
Next day we start our day with dolphin siting from the Coco Beach which is on the other side of the Aguada Fort. The agents claim it to be a 100% success rate to see the dolphins or the money will be refunded. We were lucky enough to see a pod of dolphins for a good amount of time. One can expect them to vanish for a while due to the disturbances made by the motor boats. During the tour, one gets to see the Aguada Fort and the lighthouse from at a glance. One can also spot the Millionaire’s Palace famous for being familiar in different Bollywood movies and the former Jail of Goa.
After this, we headed towards Morjim Beach, which is one of the less crowded beaches of North Goa. There are limited shacks, so one shall not really get the variety in food. Its calm and clean and has its own unique charm!
We left the beach around sevenish, it gets pretty dark and the level of tides rise, so it's recommended that you leave around six cause it takes another hour to get back to main North Goa. One can expect the roads to be slightly packed. In case you want to kill time, one can also stop at the Baga Market on their way back, which is none the less same as that of Calangute. We went back to the hotel, relaxed for a while. We weren’t hungry much so skipped the dinner and went for some desert nearby.
The next day we planned to go to South Goa, which is like a 2hr drive from Calangute. We thought to go to Dhudsagar Waterfall, but we weren’t aware of the tickets. They are only booked online! We wasted 2 hrs on that. *smh* We then planned for Kayaking in the backwaters but alas! the usual tours start early in the morning at the Bambolim Beach. Kayaking happens in various other beaches like Baga and Coco but is not in the backwaters!
So approximately it took us another 2hr to reach Benaulim Beach and we were super hungry so we ate at Rafaels, a pretty cool shack with a friendly dog always eyeing at your food. Benaulim is a beautiful beach, which something or the other going on. One can spot the old fishing boats to the fisherman with their catch or spot the locals coming for an evening walk with their dogs. Also, beware, the tides out here are strong and there are a lot of pockets in the soil, so don’t lose on to the grip and don’t go far from the shore. We left the beach by six thirtyish. It was a good day!
We were very tired so we didn't explore much and went to McDonald's right adjacent to our hotel. Also, they served Piri -Piri fries, which is uncommon for the North Indians, so thumbs up again! After dinner we were just strolling in the markets, one can also enjoy karaoke in plenty of outdoor restaurants.
This was our last day and we planned on spending this day in Panjim. We went to this Panjim river tour and spent our time on a yacht. We also did kayaking in the river which wasn’t that great. Beware that you aren’t carrying any sort of valuable item, we drowned our tods! Anyway, it wasn’t that bad of an experience. After this, we headed towards the main Panjim market, which is near the all-time famous church, Our Lady Of the Immaculate Conception Church. It was a beautiful church, clicked beautiful shots and then went to explore the nearby shops. One can stop at Nirvana which has crazy prints on t-shirts and is located on the MG Road. One can also find a variety of Boho shops in central Panjim for shopping! Later we had our flight back to Delhi.
So this was our trip to Goa, hope this helps you referring while you plan on to your trip!

Countries which celebrate Independence Day on 15th of August
Republic of Congo
The Republic of the Congo received full independence from France on August 15, 1960, exactly 80 years after it came under French rule. Today is the 55th Congolese National Day.

Korea
This year marks the 70th anniversary of Korea’s independence from 35 years of Japanese colonization in 1945. Gwangbokjeol (meaning Time of the Restoration of Light) is one of few public holidays celebrated by both the Koreas—South and North. Independent Korean governments were created three years later when the pro-Soviet Kim Il-sung was made first premier of North Korea and pro-US Syngman Rhee the first president of South Korea.

Bahrain
Bahrain, the ancient land of the Dilmun civilisation, declared its independence on August 15, 1971, from the British following a UN survey of the Bahraini population. The Bahrain archipelago had been ruled by various entities, including the Arabs and Portugal, before it became a British protectorate in the 19th century.

Liechtenstein
The national day of the sixth smallest nation of the world falls on this date. The day is celebrated to commemorate the country’s independence from German rule in 1866. Celebrations include a Catholic mass in the meadows followed by a free drink and sandwich at the prince’s castle when the masses get a chance to chat with the royal family.

India
Today, our country marks the 69th anniversary of its tryst with destiny with great pomp and fervour.
Goa has a cultural side to August 15. The Feast of the Assumption, which celebrates the ascension of Virgin Mary to Heaven, falls on this day. The feast is a grand affair at two major churches. At the Our Lady of Hope at Candolim in north Goa and Our Lady of Assumption at Velsao in south Goa, the nine-day novena precedes the feast.
