A view of Christ Episcopal Church in Norfolk, Virginia. Notable bell tower. Cars drive past.
Christ Episcopal Church (now Christ and Saint Paul's) at 560 West Olney Road, Norfolk, Virginia. (The church is notable because the Very Reverend Harold Dobson-Peacock, Dean of this church, was an innocent participant in a hoax perpetrated by Norfolk boat builder, John Hughes Curtis, during the search for Charles Lindbergh's kidnapped son. Curtis fabricated a story about being contacted by kidnappers who held the child on a yacht. His hoax sent officials and Charles Lindbergh, himself, on a fruitless search for the phantom boat.) Location: Norfolk Virginia United States. Date: May 1932.

Youth 2000 is an independent, international initiative that helps young adults aged 16-30 plug back into God at the heart of the Catholic Church.
Youth 2000 seeks to draw young people into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, lived at the heart of the Catholic church. It does this primarily through weekend prayer festivals, where young people are introduced to the essentials of the catholic faith: Mass, Eucharistic Adoration, confession, scripture, devotion to Our Lady. These festivals are opportunities for young people to experience the love of God, to receive the grace of conversion and to begin living anew the Christian life.
UK Queen calls for harmony in Christmas message
SANDRINGHAM, England (AP) -- Queen Elizabeth II used her traditional Christmas broadcast Thursday to call for reconciliation throughout the United Kingdom and to praise medical workers fighting Ebola in Africa.
She said it will take time to heal divisions in Scotland, where a referendum was held this year on whether to remain part of Britain, and praised progress resolving the conflict in Northern Ireland. Elizabeth cited the Christmas truce in 1914 as an example to be remembered.
Something remarkable did happen that Christmas, exactly 100 years ago today, she said. Without any instruction or command, the shooting stopped and German and British soldiers met in No Man's Land. Photographs were taken and gifts exchanged. It was a Christmas truce.
She said German forces sang Silent Night so that it could be heard on the British side of the front line.
That carol is still much-loved today, a legacy of the Christmas truce, and a reminder to us all that even in the unlikeliest of places hope can still be found, the queen said before wishing everyone a happy Christmas.
The queen writes her own Christmas speech, which is pre-recorded and televised in many parts of the world. She made her first Christmas broadcast on radio in 1952.
The queen and her close family celebrated Christmas at the sprawling Sandringham estate in Norfolk.
The royals attended a church service Christmas morning before a gala lunch. Prince William and his pregnant wife Kate were present, but their toddler son, Prince George, didn't go to church.
Kate told one person in the crowd she didn't bring 1-year-old George because he would have made too much noise.
Prince Charles' wife Camilla also didn't attend because of a painful back injury suffered earlier this month, officials said.
The queen arrived by car while the other royals walked from her estate to the village church.
Hundreds of well-wishers lined the route to the church to exchange Christmas greetings with the royals. Some shouted with glee as Prince Harry walked by. One visitor from Spain told reporters she had asked Harry to marry her.
Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby cancelled his Christmas sermon because of a severe cold. In a statement he expressed great regret about his inability to preach his planned sermon about the true meaning of Christmas.
Church officials said the sermon at Canterbury Cathedral would instead be delivered by the Dean of Canterbury Robert Willis.

'The Walsingham Story' play Walsingham 2015
The Rector, Mgr John Armitage, welcomed the 13th annual Grandparents Pilgrimage and parents and countless grandchildren. The Catholic Grandparents’ Association was the brainchild of Catherine Wiley. At the end of Mass Catherine spoke of the birth of the association. She was praying in the Slipper Chapel and asking Our Lady what she could do, when she realised what an important part grandparents can play in passing on the faith to future generations. She founded the Association which has grown into a worldwide association with branches in several countries. Pope Benedict wrote a lovely prayer for the association which we all prayed at the end of Mass. Pope Francis has very strongly promoted the invaluable work it does in preserving the faith in the face of the challenges of the contemporary world. Catherine recalled Bishop John Hine telling her that his godmother had told him in the last few days of her life that she had prayed for him every day and how he had felt so privileged. This support was emphasised by the presence of Mgr Carlos Simon Vazquez, undersecretary of the Pontifical Council for the Family, and also the Rector of Knock, Fr Richard Gibbons, who concelebrated.
Mass was celebrated by the Right Revd Peter Doyle, patron of the CGA in England. The Chapel of Our Lady of Reconciliation was packed and there was a wonderful atmosphere of celebration. Grandchildren followed the procession of the clergy holding banners and wished us all a happy Grandparents’ Day before Mass started. They presented the bidding prayers and all their petitions were taken up to the altar at the offertory. Bishop Peter in his homily emphasised that we can all play our part in the future, married or single, grandparents, great uncles and aunts, godparents and family friends.
In the afternoon the children performed a play on the history of Walsingham to a large audience in the church. All went home perhaps a little tired but uplifted by an inspiring day. Thanks are due to all who worked so hard to ensure a memorable time for young and older. The 26th July is the Feast of St Anne and Joachim and we ask for their prayers for our younger generations.

Walsingham Pilgrimage
In preparation for Holy Week 2011 we made a pilgrimage to the Shrine of Our Lady at Walsingham. It was a varied experience celebrating Mass in the Slipper Chapel, a procession from the Anglican Shrine to the Catholic Shrine, receiving the Sacrament of Reconciliation. We felt truly blessed to have had this experience and to have enjoyed the company of each other.

Everybody points to Meghan when it comes to spending and talking about the expenses of the British Royal Family. But is that really the case? We made comparisons on the expenditures made during the renovation of the residences of the two couples.
Meghan and Harry only have one home, frogmore cottage where the couple lives permanently. The Cambridge, on the other hand, have two residences: first there is the 21-room apartment in Kensington Palace, which was put at their disposal when they got married, and there is also their second home,Anmer Hall in Norfolk.
