VILLA 1210 AT CORAL ESTATE - CURACAO: 360 DEGREE VIEW OVER THE OCEAN AND THE SALINA AREA
This villa is located at one of the most beautiful places of Coral Estate with a magnificent view of the Caribbean Sea, the salina area and the village of St. Willibrordus with its characteristic church. From the main terrace you can enjoy a first-rate view of passing cruise ships and the striking headland of Boca Sami. When it gets dark you can enjoy the view of the lighthouse of Rif St. Marie, the lights of Boca Sami and Blue Bay, while the lights of the village of St. Willibrordus stand out in the darkness at the other side.
The main house is of a Modern-Caribbean architecture and very comfortable. Everything is equal leveled and accessible without steps up or down. There are 2 bedrooms with 2 luxury bathrooms and a third bedroom which is currently used as an office. There is also a luxury guest toilet. The living room, with open design and recently renovated kitchen, connects through sliding doors with the porch area. Indoor and outdoor life merge seamlessly here, which is wonderful with the Curaçao climate. The kitchen is a beauty and fully equipped with, among other things, a dishwasher, American fridge, coffee machine, a microwave-combi oven, a steam oven and a 5-burner induction hob. In addition to the kitchen there is a utility room with plenty of storage space, which is accessible from outside; very handy for storing groceries.
The spacious main terrace has lots of living space with shade and, very importantly, with almost always wind, which is desirable. There is also a spacious infinity pool with a sea view and a separate jacuzzi. There is also a cosy brick sofa for sitting or lying down. Here you can enjoy the beautiful view at sunset, while enjoying a cool breeze.
On the side of the house there is a terrace where you can relax at the end of the afternoon. To make the choice of where to sit even more difficult, there is a separate gazebo in the garden with a magnificent view of the salina area. A hammock invites you to enjoy a moment of the spectacle that this view offers. Next to the house is a carport with a separate storage room with laundry machine connection. The house is optimally safe due to the high location and limited accessibility of the porch, and is equipped with a complete camera and alarm system. The porch can be closed at the rear with shutters.
Below the pool deck is a complete apartment with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room with open kitchen and a private terrace with sea view and equipped with sun screens. The apartment has a fully independent entrance, which provides privacy for residents and visitors.

Curaçao - Explore the West Side in One Day - Part 1| Dive Curacao Vlog
Exploring the west side of the island in one day is a pretty ambitious task but if you are just going to be on the island for one day or just have a rental car for one day, this is an excellent way to explore the beauty of Curacao.
For those of you that arrive on a cruise ship and like to explore Curacao on their own rather than with an organized tour, make sure that you reserve a rental car up front.
Bring water, comfortable shoes and flip flops, lots of sunscreens, a snack, and of course your swimsuit and snorkels. If you have sensitive feet, you might want to bring water shoes as well.
Shete Boka National Park - Get on the main road from Willemstad towards Westpunt. Follow this road until you see the Shete Boka National Park sign along the road. It's quite a long way (26 miles), but you'll see some great scenery as you go, including Mt. Christoffel.
Shete Boka National Park is located on Curacao's north coast. It's an absolutely amazing place with breathtaking views. There's a small fee to enter the park (US$ 5.50 p.p.) but it is well worth it. You can also buy a brochure with a map. The three bokas (coves) to visit are the sea cave at Boka Tabla, Boka Pistol with its crashing powerful waves, and Boka Wandomi with its very impressive landscape.
You'll want to carry water with you as you explore the area as there is little shelter from the sun.
Knip Beach - When you leave Shete Boka, turn right out of the exit. Follow the road until you see signs for Playa Kenepa, also known as Grote Knip and Playa Abou. It's a free public beach. The overlook is breathtaking, and the water calm and clear.
If you are adventurous, there are a couple of spots to jump off the stone cliffs. Just be careful! The best snorkeling is at the wall on the left side. There's also Landhuis Knip to visit if time and interest allow.
Lunch - For lunch, you can backtrack a little on the main road, watch closely for signs to Lodge Kura Hulanda right after you pass through the wooded valley area, and then turn left at the ball field to find your way to Sol Food. You'll get a great lunch and some friendly local advice from Sunshine. They're only open Friday-Sunday.
If you're there on another weekday, try Restaurant Landhuis Misje. They are open from noon to 8:00 pm, except on Tuesday. It's a small restaurant serving traditional Caribbean comfort food.
Lagun Beach - After lunch head back towards Knip Beach and look for signs for Lagun Beach, which is a smaller beach but a great spot to snorkel. If you be there between 4:00 and 5:00 PM there is a great chance that you see turtles. Around this time the fishermen return and they always feed their leftovers to the turtles.
If you still have some time left, as you head back towards Willemstad watch for signs to Jan Kok or St. Willibrordus. Here there is an old salt plantation along the road and most of the time there are a lot of Flamingos feeding in the salt ponds. See as well our blog post Flamingos, Curacao's exotic bright pink birds.
Willemstad - Depending on your energy level and on how long you have on the island, you may still have some time left to explore Willemstad.
Cross the Queen Emma Bridge, one of the oldest pontoon bridges around, to get to Punda. You may like to take a drink at the waterfront Iguana Cafe, and watch the ships enter Willemstad's harbor. They get impressively close and it is always a miracle to see how they manoeuvre in and out.
Alternatively, you may like to enter Fort Amsterdam, the large yellow historic building south of Iguana Cafe, site of the Governor's Palace and the 1769 Dutch Reformed Church.
For dinner, we suggest Restaurant De Gouveneur at the Otrobanda side, or go to one of the many restaurants at the Pietermaai District.
An area frequently missed by tourists is the Pietermaai area. Many of the run-down buildings have been totally restored over the last six years and turned into colorful apartments, boutique hotels, restaurants, and trendy bars. Mundo Bizarro is a cool restaurant with Cuban decor, daily happy hour from 5:30 to 6:30 pm, and live music every Saturday.
A few doors down, you will find Miles Jazz Cafe. They offer a selection of cigars, board games and, of course, the music of jazz legend Miles Davis on vinyl, or live music.
Other restaurants in Pietermaai are 27 Bar & Teras, oceanfront restaurant Bijblauw, Blue Bird Cafe for bites and drinks, and many more. For more information on restaurants bars and events, see Pietermaai District's website.

Curacao Dive Site Guide | Porto Marie | Dive Curacao - Dutch Caribbean
Unique and diverse, The Valley (also called Porto Mari) is one of the top 10 #dive #sites on #Curacao for good reason. Located at Playa Porto Mari, one of Curacao's more beautiful fully equipped beaches, about an eight-minute drive from Willibrordus church.
The valley between the two healthy parallel reefs, just off the shore of the beach, are home to a wide variety of reef life. The unique double reef is accessible directly from the shore where you can cruise through the large schools of blue tangs and curious trunk fish who are exploring the man-made habitat balls.
You will often see fish here that are rarely spotted at other dive sites - such as pairs of cornet fish, nurse sharks and large schools of creole wrasses. Keep your eyes open for spotted eagle rays on the sandy valley floor and at the top of the reefs.
A nice snack bar is located on the beach, as are changing facilities, fresh water tanks for cleaning your equipment, showers, and toilets. Enter over a sandy bottom with some coral rubble; it is about a five minute swim to the first reef.
A mooring buoy has been placed in the center of the bay for boat dives; this is a good reference point to begin shore dives from. Minimal current or wave action is present; visibility is usually very good, over 30m (100 ft). At the buoy the depth is about 9m (30 ft) sloping to the first nearby reef, which is at 15m (50 ft). Swimming straight out will take you over the first reef, then to a sandy bottom, and finally to the second reef which starts at about 18m (60 ft).
The valley is home to lots of colorful reef life: angelfish, parrot fish, groupers, brown chromis, yellow tail snappers, trigger fish, trumpet fish, cornet fish, sea turtles, lobsters and sting rays. Coral coverage is abundant and healthy.

The Netherlands (Dutch: Nederland [ˈneːdərlɑnt] ( listen)) is a country located mainly in Northwestern Europe. Together with three island territories in the Caribbean (Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba), it forms a constituent country of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The European portion of the Netherlands consists of twelve provinces and borders Germany to the east, Belgium to the south, and the North Sea to the northwest, sharing maritime borders in the North Sea with Belgium, the United Kingdom, and Germany. The five largest cities in the Netherlands are Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague, Utrecht (forming the Randstad megalopolis) and Eindhoven (leading the Brabantse Stedenrij). Amsterdam is the country's capital, while The Hague holds the seat of the States General, Cabinet and Supreme Court. The Port of Rotterdam is the largest port in Europe and the world's largest outside Asia.'Netherlands' literally means 'lower countries', referring to its low land and flat geography, with only about 50% of its land exceeding 1 metre (3 ft 3 in) above sea level. Most of the areas below sea level are the result of land reclamation beginning in the 16th century, resulting in large areas known as polders that amount to nearly 17% of the country's territory. With a population of 17.25 million living within a total area of roughly 41,500 square kilometres (16,000 sq mi), of which the land area is 33,700 square kilometres (13,000 sq mi), the Netherlands is one of the most densely populated countries in the world. Nevertheless, it is the world's second-largest exporter of food and agricultural products after the United States, owing to its fertile soil, mild climate, and intensive agriculture. The Netherlands was the third country in the world to have representative government, and has been administered as a parliamentary constitutional monarchy since 1848, with a unitary structure. A policy of pillarisation historically segregated society and institutions between Catholics, Calvinists and socialists, but Dutch society is today one of the most cosmopolitan in the world. The country has a long history of social tolerance and is generally regarded as a liberal country, having legalised abortion, prostitution, and euthanasia, while maintaining a progressive drug policy. The Netherlands abolished the death penalty in 1870, allowed women's suffrage in 1917, and became the world's first country to legalise same-sex marriage in 2001.
The Netherlands is a founding member of the EU, Eurozone, G10, NATO, OECD, and WTO, as well as a part of the Schengen Area and the trilateral Benelux Union. It hosts several intergovernmental organizations and international courts, many of which are centered in The Hague, which is consequently dubbed 'the world's legal capital.' Its mixed-market advanced economy had the thirteenth-highest per capita income globally. One of the world's most prosperous countries, the Netherlands ranks among the highest in international indexes of press freedom, economic freedom, human development, and quality of life. Its strong performance is owed in large part to a generous welfare state that provides universal healthcare, public education and infrastructure, and a range of social benefits. It is also known for its polder model, the country's leading socioeconomic model based on consensus decision-making.
