Phillip Island, a popular day trip from Melbourne, lies just off Australia’s southern coast.
Phillip Island forms a natural breakwater for the shallow waters of the Western Port. It is 26 km (16 mi) long and 9 km (5.6 mi) wide, with an area of about 100 km2 (40 sq mi).
At Summerland Beach, spectators gather daily at sunset to watch the Penguin Parade, when Little penguins come ashore in groups. You can take boat tours out to see whales during the migration season and visit Seal Rocks, home to a large colony of Australian fur seals.
Churchill Island is the site of the first European agricultural pursuits in Victoria, the island has been farmed since the 1850’s. This tiny island of 57 hectares is now open to the public as an historic working farm.

We visited Phillip island to celebrate our third wedding anniversary. I am sharing to you tourist spot you can visit in Phillip island aside from the usual, penguin parade and chocolate factory.
We decided not to go to penguin parade because we thinkToby will not appricate it yet at his age (14 months).
1. Wildlife Park Phillip Island- Good place for family, the entrance come with a pack of treat for the kangaroos and emu and you can buy extra if you want to for $.50. This is a nice place if you want to have close encounter with kangaroos and emu and feed them.

0-4 yrs - FREE
2. The Nobbies - Good walk for family and pram friendly, nice and relaxing view. Can be very windy/cold so check the weather. Has cafe with stunning view. No entrance fee.
3. Churchill Island - There is an island walk at the back that you can do for free. Place is good for family as well with different farm animals, plan your visit and go here at 1pm onwards as they have different activities like cow milking etc. that start in the afternoon. Has cafe and live music.

Phillip Island Apartment - location is really nice, close to Cowes beach and cafes. Clean and spacious apartment, but they do not have lift so consider this if you need lift access.

Attractions Of Phillip Island - Melbourne - Australia
Phillip Island is a popular tourist destination in Victoria, Australia, Just under two hours from Melbourne it is within easy reach for a weekend getaway or a longer holiday stay.
Cowes is the main town on the island and has plenty of accommodation options for all travelers and budgets. From caravan parks to hotel/motel style and bed & breakfast, there are options for everyone.
The main attractions on Phillip Island are the world famous Penguin Parade, the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix, The Nobbies and Panny's Chocolate Factory, to name just a few.
It features some excellent surf beaches too, with Woolamai and Smiths Beach being a couple of favourites. In Cowes, there are also nice swimming beaches facing north into Westernport Bay, for example Red Rocks beach. Great for fishing, boating and jet skis.

Churchill Island Heritage Farm - Melbourne
Churchill Island Heritage Farm is an important location in the history of the European settlement in Victoria. Named Churchill, by Lt. James Grant after the man who gave him seeds to grow, the remaining historical buildings and gardens draw thousands of guests each year.
If you're looking for a traditional cultural activity with plenty to get involved in then look no further. You can get involved in a number of customary farming activities throughout the day such as whip cracking, cow milking, even boomerang throwing, and when it all gets too much, wagon rides for tired children (and adults). And if that's not enough for you, there are a number of walking and biking trails also available for the more adventurous.
