Cilgerran Castle - Built in the 1220's!
Cilgerran Castle was first built by the Normans who erected an early ‘ringwork’ style castle here and was first mentioned by name in historical documents in 1165, but the castle that is standing today was probably the built on behalf of William Marshal, the earl of Pembroke sometime after 1223.
Cilgerran Castle is unusual because it has two round towers in the centre of its grounds instead of one.

Skenfrith/Ynysgynwraidd; a small village in Monmouthshire situated in the south-east Wales. Located next to the River Monnow, and only 3700 ft from the border of Wales and England. The road through the village (B4521) was once the A40, linking Ross-on-Wye and Abergavenny.

Skenfrith Castle
Grouped with White Castle and Grosmont Castle, Skenfrith is one of the Three Castles or Trilateral Castles built in the Monnow Valley of the Southern Marches as part of the Norman conquest of South Wales.
The current stone structure dates from the 13th century, although there is clear evidence of earlier fortifications at the site.
Unusually it is also built on low lying ground next to a river - relying entirely upon the fortifications for its defence.

This short film from the 8th of April (2007), was taken in Cilgerran Village in West Wales, where Climate Change focused project ( - which struggled for last few years to shoot off with trainings preparing people for sustainable future without fossil fuels - this time (after getting knackered last year)was again straight on the way to stand up and fight for the future live without violence for others. And that is what happened during one of the tests of newly made structures...

Dinefwr Park
Newton House is a Grade II listed country house situated just to the west of the market town of Llandeilo in Carmarthenshire, Wales. It is owned and maintained by the National Trust and lies within Dinefwr Park (sometimes anglicised as Dynevor) and the grounds of Dinefwr Castle. The original house was built during the Medieval period on a site which has been occupied for at least two millennia. The current house was built by Edward Rice in the Jacobean style in 1660, though extensive changes were made in the 1850s in the Venetian Gothic style.
Newton House is cited as one of the most haunted houses in Wales, noted in particular for its ghost of Walter the Butler, a former employee whose tobacco smoke purportedly wafts through the air.
