VULGARIA movie trailer with English Subtitles (Rated MA in Australia)
A deliriously offensive & outrageous comedy about the lengths a producer will go to secure funding for a feature film!
VULTARIA is an outrageous black comedy that chronicles Hong Kong film producer To Wai-Cheung's painfully absurd quest in trying to get his new film made in today's era of Hong Kong-China co-productions. Pang Ho-cheung's show business satire pushes good taste as far as it can go, and then it keeps on going.
Selected to open the New York Asian Film Festival and selected for competition at MIFF.

David Stratton Recommends: West of Sunshine
Australia’s most famous film reviewer is back! David Stratton Recommends is an independent, weekly review series that finds Australia’s preeminent movie critic focusing his attention on quality, independent and Australian cinema releases, made for Cinema Nova.
The debut feature from Australian director Jason Raftopoulos which premiered at the Venice Film Festival, WEST OF SUNSHINE is a story akin to a Melbourne-set Bicycle Thieves, offering a convincing visualisation of an urban jungle as a working class man attempts to pay a gambling debt while looking after his young son.
WEST OF SUNSHINE screens at Nova from August 23!

As their relationship strains, they head inland to Uluru (Ayres Rock). On remote dirt roads, their GPS plays-up and they find themselves stranded and ill- prepared. With only each other to rely on, the two are driven to extremes in order to stay alive in the harsh and unforgiving Australian Outback.
In Theatre Projection
Digital projectors can be small and self contained. This gives us the ability to install projectors in ways never before possible with traditional Film projectors. In this video we have a look at an install at Cinema Nova, Carlton (Melbourne Australia) in which DCN Australia dcnaustralia.com.au add 4 additional digital screens making it a total of 15.
We have a look at how one is mounted and the advantages if in theater projection.
This type of install would be of particular interest to those converting a location not build for purpose, to a Cinema complex.
TrashFest 2019 (Australian tour trailer)
TRASHFEST 2019: Compiled and edited by Andrew Leavold, Queensland-based director of the cult documentary The Search For Weng Weng, from his thirty-plus years of excavating film oddities. Here Leavold digs deep into the Trash Video vaults (his legendary Brisbane cult movie store from 1995 to 2010) to create the ultimate two hour party mash-up for cine-generates and severely damaged pulp casualties: clips from Bollywood and Nollywood - that’s Nigerian DIY “cinema” - as well as vintage ads and trailers, brain-numbing Christian shorts, spookshow weirdies, a Filipino midget disco number, Turksploitation (ever seen the Turkish Star Wars?), the North Korean Godzilla, Indonesian flying-heads-with-guts-attached, wrestling Mexican Mummies – a glorious Trash-fried enchilada with heapings of extra cheese!
Andrew Leavold will also be present to introduce the program, and launch the Kickstarter campaign for his latest venture, FILM SAFARI – a guided tour of film locations in exotic locales, starting this October in Spain and Mexico!
