Exploring Ukraine's Underground Rave Revolution
The 2014 revolution brought Kiev nightlife to a complete standstill. As protests turned into riots, and government security forces opened fire on protestors, the country fell into crisis. But out of the ashes of revolution has risen a new generation. Slava Lepsheev, who’d lost his job because of the financial crisis triggered by the war, had had enough, and started Cxema, a raw, hard and hypnotic techno rave that he took to whatever semi-legal venue he could set a soundsystem up in. So together with Slava, and the city’s brightest young lights, we followed young Kiev as they prepared for a night at Cxema, from building the venue to watching the sunrise break.

SCRIPT
The oldest cinema in Kiev, the Zhovten, was set on fire during the screening of LGBT-themed French film Les Nuits d'Ete (Summer Nights) on Wednesday.
No injuries have been reported after the suspected arson attack, with witnesses saying movie-goers fled the theatre after an incendiary smoke grenade was tossed into the theatre approximately 20 minutes after the film began.
The screening was part of an LGBT program of the annual Kiev International Film Festival Molodist.

Earlier this month, a number of pro-Russia checkpoints around the Donetsk region were taken by Ukrainian forces, in an attempt to encircle the city of Sloviansk, a stronghold for the pro-Russia insurgents. Here, VICE News reporter Simon Ostrovsky embeds at one of the checkpoints with the Ukrainian National Guard, a volunteer militia made up of people who were protesting at the Kiev Maidan just a few short, but eventful, months ago. Simon spent the night in the dark basement of a police station with some of the men, as heavy fire and fighting rumbled above them.
Ukraine's presidential elections are scheduled for Sunday, but with this volatile situation in the east of the country, it's starting to look a lot more like a war.

Ukraine is perfect place for entertaining. Why? Because it's very cheap to go entertaining in Ukraine. Just watch this video and I will prove you.
Bowling.
Price of bowling depends on the period of day the you come. If you play bowling from noon till 6pm, the hour costs 3USD.
If you want to play from 6pm to 11pm - you will have to pay 8,5USD per hour.
Autodrom. It costs 80 cents per 3 minutes.
Ice rink. You have to pay from 1.5$ to 2.3$ per 45 minutes.
Rollerdrom. You pay 2$ for unlimited visit.
Cinema. The ticket for cinema will cost for you 3-4$, depending from movie theatre. I am not sure that you will be interested in Ukrainian cinema, because it's i Ukrainian language.
But you can visit 7D or 9D cinema - the price is 2$ for any movie.
Tennis. You have to pay an 1,5$ per half an hour or 2$ per hour.
Zoo. There is very awesome zoo in Kyiv! The price of entrance ticket is 1,5$ and you can have a great time at least for 5 hours! Because it's very big!
Art exhibitions. If you love art and want to educate yourself, you can visit some art exhibitions. The entrance ticket into one of the most popular place - Mystetsky Arsenal costs 2.5$. And you can spend 4-5 hours watching some exhibitions with English translation everywhere! Pinchuk Art center - the entrance is free!
Billiards - from 1,5 to 3$ per hour, depending from time of day. Playing billiard in the evening is more expensive.
Festivals. There are many different festival si Ukraine, but entrance ticket to the most of them costs from 3 to 5$.
Aquapark. Priced depends from the day of a week and time of day. But in average it's from 7 to 10$ unlimited.
Night clubs. I will have another video about night life, but entrance ticket will cost from 7$.
I know I didn't mention a lot of other kind of entertainments. But if you are interested in something else, you can ask me in the comments and I will let you know about prices!

Kyiv Iconic ‘Zhovten' Cinema Reopens: Movie theater suffered significant damage in late October 2014
Ukraine's famous ‘Zhovten' cinema reopens today, almost a year after the building suffered significant damage from an arson attack. The rebuilt complex features two big and four small cinema halls and a café. Kyiv Mayor Vitaly Klitschko is among guests attending the opening.
