A trio of teenage girls form a punk band in Swedish auteur Lukas Moodysson's exhilarating celebration of outsider adolescence.
It's 1982 and Stockholm 13-year-olds Klara (Mira Grosin) and Bobo (Mira Barkhammar) are school misfits. Everyone tells them that punk is dead, but they're determined to keep the flame alive. So they decide to form their own band. This doesn't go down well with the boys, who think it's just not right that girls should play punk rock. More importantly, they're hampered by their lack of musical ability until they hook up with shy accomplished guitarist Hedvig (Liv LeMoyne). She's just as much an outcast as Klara and Bobo, because her mum is a devout Christian. Lukas Moodysson, Swedish director of 'Together' and 'Lilya 4-Ever', adapts his wife Coco's graphic novel, 'Never Goodnight', for the screen. It's an acutely observed tale of girl power, friendship and rebellion, with excellent performances from its young ensemble cast.

Timothy Spall gives an award-winning performance in Mike Leigh's luminous drama about the great British painter.
In the mid 1820s, J.M.W. Turner (Timothy Spall) shares a studio with his elderly father William (Paul Jesson) and housekeeper and occasional lover Hannah Danby (Dorothy Atkinson). The brilliant, if eccentric landscape artist avoids his aggrieved former mistress, Sarah Danby (Ruth Sheen) - Hannah's aunt. He also barely acknowledges the existence of their two daughters. Travelling to Margate incognito in search of artistic inspiration, he meets and forms a great passion for widowed landlady Sophia Booth (Marion Bailey). Mike Leigh's first period drama since 'Topsy-Turvy' captures perfectly Turner's complex personality and the politics of the artistic milieu in which he worked. Leigh's frequent collaborator Timothy Spall won the Best Actor Award at Cannes for his mesmerising central performance. Also rewarded was veteran Dick Pope, who won a Special Jury Prize for his breathtaking cinematography.

International Emmy Award nominee, Sheridan Smith, plays Down-on-her-luck Sam, who leads us on a comedic and voyeuristic journey into the lives of a multitude of women at all stages of love and life over the course of one crazy night out. Amidst the shambles of a night on the town, she realises her life is an empty mess, coloured only by her dysfunctional, but devoted ensemble of close friends, Chanel (Jaime Winstone), Saskia (Sarah Hoare) and Paige (Riann Steele). She wants to grow up, but is finding it difficult. In an attempt to broaden her horizons, Sam meets up with her old college friend Michelle (Kate Nash), who she hasn't seen for years, and Michelle has subsequently gone to Paris, has a glamorous job, earns a lot of money, has got engaged, and is living the life that Sam aspires to and enviously follows on Facebook. Michelle has brought her friend Jess (Oona Chaplin), who is even more intimidatingly glamorous. Sam feels inadequate and inhibited in their company, so starts telling little white lies. It all spirals out of control until she's created an entirely fictional existence. Sam spends her whole evening trying to stop this house of cards from falling down. Faced with some very harsh realities, can Sam remain true to herself and find a way back from rock bottom?

Premiere of four new sports films from great British directors, specially commissioned for London 2012.

In 'The Odyssey', Hackney-born Asif Kapadia, BAFTA-winning director of 'Senna', uses aerial photography and interviews with locals to chart his home city's journey from winning the bit to staging the games. 'We Need to Talk About Kevin' director Lynne Ramsey's poetic 'Swimmer' follows a lone swimmer through Britain's waterways. THE JAMESON DUBLIN INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL
Web Site; jdiff.com Info;
Established in 2003, The Jameson Dublin International Film Festival (JDIFF) has fast become Ireland's premier feature film festival and takes place in Ireland's capital city over the course of eleven days and nights each Spring. The next edition of the festival will take place 19 - 29 March 2015.
JDIFF continues its commitment to celebrating film as an art form by presenting over 120 films from the four corners of the globe to the Irish Audience. The festival is a citywide event that takes place in all of the Dublin City Centre Cinemas including Cineworld, The Savoy, Screen, Irish Film Institute and Light House Cinema in Smithfield. The majority of films shown at the film festival are Irish premieres, and for some of the films shown, the festival represents the only public screening that will take place in Ireland.
Since its inauguration the festival has prided itself on creating a unique forum of exchange between the public and the filmmaking community through hosting a whole range of events that allow the public to interact with filmmakers in the form of public interviews, panel discussions and Q&A sessions. Jameson Dublin International Film Festival continues to lead the way in the presentation of outstanding Irish and International film.
Over the past thirteen years the Festival has hosted over 500 major guests along the way ranging from Irish mega stars Colin Farrell, Brendan Gleeson, Cillian Murphy, Daniel Day Lewis, U2 to Hollywood A-listers Al Pacino, Mark Wahlberg, Glenn Close, Joss Whedon, Danny DeVito and Richard Dreyfuss. The Festival has screened world cinema from 52 different countries, a total of almost 1,500 films, of which 300 were Irish features including world premieres of Once, Ondine, In Bruges, Calvary, The Stag, The Secret of Kells.
In addition there has been a vibrant, ongoing programming of International out of Festival events with huge talents Ben Affleck, Quentin Tarantino, Bryan Cranston and Ennio Morricone. Audiences and industry members have been delighted to meet a widely diverse range of luminaries and gain insights into every area of the film world including perspectives from directors, producers, screenwriters and critics such as Mike Leigh, John Sayles, Quentin Tarantino, Martin Mc Donagh, Jeremy Thomas, Wim Wenders, Neil Gaiman, Jan Troell, Sarah Polley, Frederic Raphael and Todd McCarthy among many others.
Irish Film Talent is celebrated as an integral part of the JDIFF programme each year by presenting Irish film in all its guises from archival, to documentary, to the very latest Irish feature films from first time film directors. In 2008 the festival inaugurated The Irish Talent Spotlight in order to profile exceptional new and established talent working in all areas of the Irish Film Industry. Ken Wardrop (Writer/Director), Margo Harkin (Producer), Tim Fleming (Director of Photography), Cartoon Saloon (Irish Animation Company) and Margeret Corkery (Writer/Director) have all been honoured as part of this initiative.
Each year the Jameson Dublin International Film Festival presents The Volta Awards to outstanding individuals who have made significant contributions to the world of film. Named for Ireland's first dedicated cinema, the Volta Picture Theatre on Mary Street in Dublin, recipients of The Volta have included Gabriel Byrne, Daniel Day Lewis, Consolata Boyle, George Morrison, Paolo Sorrentino and Thierry Fremaux.

My Week With Marilyn Trailer

An incredible cast star in the amazing true story of Marilyn Monroe's week with a young Englishman.
It's 1956, and youthful Oxford graduate Colin Clark (Eddie Redmayne) lands a lowly job on the British set of 'The Prince and the Showgirl'. It's directed by the legendary Sir Laurence Olivier (Kenneth Branagh), who also stars opposite Marilyn Monroe (Michelle Williams), who is then at the height of her fame. Marilyn's new husband, playwright Arthur Miller (Dougray Scott), has to make a brief trip to Paris. So Clark gets the chance to spend a week introducing one of the world's greatest film stars to the joys of ordinary British life. Freed from the pressures of work and celebrity, Marilyn begins to open up about her own life and experiences. Judi Dench, Julia Ormond and Derek Jacobi round out the top-notch British supporting cast. Watch out too for the cameo by Emma Watson in her first post-Potter role
