Bilbo and the dwarves' epic and eventful dragon slaying quest continues in part two of Peter Jackson's stunning new trilogy. Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman), Gandalf (Ian McKellen) and the thirteen dwarves led by Thorin Oakenshield (Richard Armitage) are on a dangerous journey. Their goal is to reclaim the lost dwarf kingdom of Erebor from fearsome Smaug the dragon (Benedict Cumberbatch). But to reach Erebor, they must pass through many weird and wonderful lands. These include giant spider-infested Mirkwood, homeland of Legolas (Orlando Bloom), and the watery, sinister Lake-town. Gandalf, meanwhile, has business of his own in forbidding Dol Goldur. The second part of Peter Jackson's awesome trilogy expanded from the much-loved Tolkien classic takes us deeper into Middle-earth. New characters include the Silvan elf Tauriel (Evangeline Lilly), the shape-shifting Beorn (Mikael Persbrandt) and woodland elf leader Thranduil (Lee Pace). And, yes, we do finally get to see the dragon Smaug in all his malevolent glory!
