Silverburn Shopping Centre - Glasgow
Located within the Pollock area of Glasgow, Silverburn is the biggest purpose built shopping centre in Scotland. Ocmis have recently commissioned a water feature within the Winter Garden area of the development which consists of a flowing stream feature with 'rain curtain', mini-rapids, vortex pool, jet pool, sequenced vertical jets, jumping jets and a burst jet.
Ocmis worked together with Building Design Partnership (BDP) and Crystal Fountains to produce a water feature that enhances the area around it. Providing a sense of tranquillity within the hustle and bustle of the shopping centre the feature allows shoppers to enjoy a relaxing coffee, whilst the more animated sections of the feature provide an element of entertainment, helping children and adults alike enjoy a few moments of light relief.
Representing the source of the stream, a rain curtain is installed at the start of the feature with water droplets gently falling in slow motion from a height of about 7 metres to the restaurant below. Lit with full colour change LED lights and the ambient light of the shopping centre, the feature creates a distinctive and dazzling effect.
From the rain curtain the stream flows over mini rapids, creating a cascade of water leading to a swirling vortex whirlpool effect, again lit by LED lighting, eventually disappearing around a foaming central jet.
At the west entrance to Silverburn, the more animated jet pool features a circular display of sixteen Choreoswitches™ producing jets of clear water leaping up to 10 times per second, up to a maximum height of 3000mm. With a near infinite array of possibilities, the sequencing, and associated colour change LED lighting, can create unique, peaceful and relaxing low level displays to energetic, choreographed, highly animated displays.
Within the wall of the jet pool six jumping jets are also installed. These produce 12mm diameter, glass like rods of water, arching towards the centre of the pool approximately 3000mm away, and sequenced with the remainder of the feature.
And finally within this spectacular display, a Burst Jet is located in the centre of the pool and, at predetermined times, produces an aerated burst of water rising to a maximum height of 10 metres, adding an additional wow factor to the whole display.
Cineworld IMAX SPECTRE Premiere - A CMA Video Production, Birmingham
Following on from our project with UK Central, we continued our work with some of the most exciting projects in the West Midlands as we were commissioned to film the gala launch of the new Cineworld IMAX cinema at Resorts World Birmingham at the new NEC complex.
Just days after Resorts World Birmingham opened to the public, Cineworld launched its latest cinema in the region with a star studded VIP premiere of the new James Bond film, Spectre. Our task was to capture the glitz and glamour of the evening and to talk to the guests who were there to see Daniel Craig as 007 in the latest film in the James Bond franchise.
The IMAX cinema at Resorts World Birmingham was officially opened with the cutting of a ribbon before the screening of Spectre and the Cineworld theatre was well received by the assembled guests of celebrities and public. Among the celebrities in attendance were Danielle Lloyd, Jasper Carrott and the cast of The Only Way Is Essex. Classic British iconic cars, Jaguar, Aston Martin and Land Rover, were also on show to add to the glamour of the occasion. The brand new cinema also features a Starbucks and the Sky Bar offering stunning views of the whole Resorts World Birmingham and NEC complex.

Talk It Out
Anger management, anorexia and other mental health issues are touched upon in this school drama whereby the first steps to getting any help is to talk it out.
Into film were asked by Gow at Cineworld and Lisa Pierottii at St Paul’s High School to support a filmmaking project with pupils at St Paul’s High School in Glasgow. Into Film worked with a group of 21 pupils aged 13-15 to support the production of a high quality short film that would be screened at the new Cineworld, Silverburn on 27th August 2014. Into Film also worked closely with teachers to develop their skills through CPD training to support the lasting ‘legacy’ of film making within the school.
LEGACY
This project is being delivered as a pilot project to try and test a new model in partnership with the school and cinema. The main intention is to support a lasting legacy of engagement of film in the school amongst teachers and pupils. Into Film provided a fully funded programme to support the attainment. To measure the impact of the legacy it is suggested that the school are required to create a second film following the project that would receive the continued support of the partnership with Cineworld potentially via competition opportunities. Cineworlds aim is to familiarise the local community with the new cinema and encourage families to return as customers.
Supported by the British Film Institute, Into Film is the UK's film learning programme for 5-19 year olds, encouraging and enabling watching, making and critical understanding of film.

Wind! Bubbles! Fog! 4D Cinema Comes to the UK
4D cinema has just arrived in the UK, at the Cineworld multiplex in glamorous Milton Keynes, and it's brought wind, fog, lightning and vibrations with it.
4D cinema basically means 3D cinema with added special effects. They can range from seats that move backwards and forwards with the action to bubbles floating across the audience's heads, jets of water and puffs of scented air.
Installations have since cropped up in 150 theatres across 30 countries, but this is the first time it's been fully launched in the UK.

Places to see in ( Leven - UK )
Places to see in ( Leven - UK )
Leven is a seaside town in Fife, set in the east Central Lowlands of Scotland. It lies on the coast of the Firth of Forth at the mouth of the River Leven, 8.1 miles north-east of the town of Kirkcaldy and 6.4 miles east of Glenrothes.
The origin of the name Leven comes from the Pictish word for flood. The nearby Loch Leven, being the flood lake, was the name given to both the river and town. A settlement is believed to have formed at the mouth of the River Leven very close to the area around Scoonie Brae with the discovery of the parish church of scoyne. During the mid-11th century, Bishop Tuadal of St Andrews gifted the church of scoyne to the Culdees of Loch Leven. By the end of the 11th century, the village along with the church were acquired by Bishop Robert of St Andrews following the decline of culdeen faith.
In 1854 the Leven Railway opened, linking the town with Thornton Junction on the Edinburgh - Aberdeen main line. This helped it to become a tourist resort popular with visitors from the west of Scotland, and particularly Glasgow. Later in the 19th century the Leven Railway became part of a loop line of the North British Railway linking Thornton Junction and Leuchars Junction via St Andrews. The railway between Leven and St. Andrews closed in 1965. The railway between Leven and Thornton Junction closed to freight in 1966 and passengers in 1969. A project into the reopening of the line is under consideration, dubbed the Leven rail link. Until then, the nearest station is Markinch railway station. The ecclesiastical and civil parish of Scoonie included the town of Leven.
Tourism is a major economic activity in and around Leven. There are several large caravan parks in and around the town, as well as a number of hotels and guest houses. The neighbouring villages of Lundin Links and Lower Largo have over 50 high quality self-catering properties available for visitors.
The coast and the long sandy beaches are the main visitor draw. Leven has an attractive beach promenade with playparks and other facilities including an indoor Kids Action Zone. The promenade is part of the Fife Coastal Path that stretches for over 150 miles (240 km) from the Firth of Forth to the Firth of Tay. There are also popular family facilities and walks in the large parks at Letham Glen and Silverburn. The former includes a crafts centre and woodland walks, while the latter has attractive gardens and coastal views.
Golf is also a major draw with two courses at Scoonie and Leven Links and another within easy walking distance at Lundin Links. Leven Links has been used as a qualifying course for the Open Championship when it is held at St Andrews, the home of golf only 15 miles (24 km) to the north. There are also numerous bowls clubs in and around the town.
A heritage railway has also been established near the Burnmill industrial estate, alongside the now disused Leven-Thornton branch line. With trains running along the yard for half a mile, between April and October with a Santa special in mid-December. The Fife Heritage Railway is the first of its kind in Fife since the closure of Lochty Private Railway in 1992. The railway completed its first steam engine in August 2016.
Levenmouth Leisure Centre at the start of the promenade is an all-weather attraction with a large, modern indoor swimming pool and sports facilities. The town also boasts its own popular 374-seat, community run cinema, The Regent, which has ongoing programmes of new release feature films and hosts regular events, such as concerts and wrestling. History enthusiasts can find out about the area's past at the Heritage Centre in neighbouring Methil, only a 15-minute walk from Leven town centre.
