Pereyaslavl in 2 days. Cities of Russia. Things to do
Pereyaslavl in 2 days. Cities of Russia. Things to do
If you search for the best places in Russia, I recommend you to go to Pereyaslavl.
Today we make a little trip to Pereyaslavl (Переславль -Залесский)
Pereyaslavl is a beautiful, small and ancient city of Russia .
It takes 3 hours to get there by car from Moscow.
The population is less than 40 000.
It was founded by Yuri Dolgoruky in 1152.
By the way Moscow also was founded by this man in 1147.
There was another important person in Russian history his name is Peter the Great. He was a Russian tsar in the late 17th century who is best known for his extensive reforms in an attempt to establish Russia as a great nation.
Peter the great lived in Pereyaslavl for a while because at the age of 16 he decided to build boats and found the city with large lake. That’s why you may see savedThe Little Boat of Peter the Great which he built himself.
One of the popular spots of this town is Blue Stone.
During the pagan times people worshipped this stone. Now people make wishes touching this one.
There are plenty of Churches. Some of them are open and they are unremarkable on the outside and very beautiful inside.
We lived on the territory of eco-camping and drank tea from a samovar.
The nature and the Lake Pleshcheyevo are amazing. For people who live in Moscow and in big cities, this town is the best solution to make a trip and have a rest.

Fragments of the meteor fell in a thinly populated area of the Chelyabinsk region, the Emergency Ministry said in a statement.
Interior Ministry spokesman Vadim Kolesnikov said 102 people had called for medical assistance following the incident, mostly for treatment of injuries from glass broken by the explosions.
Kolsenikov also said about 600 square meters (6000 square feet) of a roof at a zinc factory had collapsed.
Reports conflicted on what exactly happened in the clear skies. A spokeswoman for the Emergency Ministry, Irina Rossius, told The Associated Press that there was a meteor shower, but another ministry spokeswoman, Elena Smirnikh, was quoted by the Interfax news agency as saying it was a single meteorite.
Amateur video broadcast on Russian television showed an object speeding across the sky about 9:20 a.m. local time (0320 GMT), leaving a thick white contrail and an intense flash.

Apophis asteroid: Large space rock flies past Earth
A 300 metre-wide asteroid is making a close pass to the Earth.
Apophis - named after the Egyptian demon of destruction and darkness - has been put on a watch list by scientists.
They have calculated that in 2036 there is a very small chance it could collide with our planet.
However, its current fly-by is at a safe distance of about 14 million km - but this is close enough for astronomers to study the space rock and assess its future risk.
Apophis will not be visible with the naked eye, but space enthusiasts can watch it online via the Slooh space camera

S-100 tractor. Damming the Miass river. Chelyabinsk, Soviet Russia. (1963).
S-100 tractors are working on the construction of the Shershnivsky reservoir near the city of Chelyabinsk, which began in 1960. The reservoir was designated to supply water to the city of Chelyabinsk and suburban areas. The water flow of Miass river was blocked by a powerful dam two kilometers long. Many villages and agricultural farms were flooded during the filling of the reservoir. A total of 2,959 hectares of agricultural land has gone under water.
Stalinets-100 (or S-100) is a Soviet tractor manufactured by the Chelyabinsk Tractor Plant from 1956 to 1964.
The S-100 was created in 1956 on the basis of the C-80 tractor, as a more powerful tractor with an uncompressed four-cylinder engine KDM-100 instead of KDM-46 (100 hp at 1050 rpm.
In total 124,416 S-100 tractors of various modifications were manufactured from 1956 to 1964.
The tractor S-100 served as the base platform for the creation of the tractor T-100M.
Based on the soviet fslm The Damming of the Miass river, 1963.
The Chelyabinsk Meteor
The Chelyabinsk meteor was a superbolide that entered Earth's atmosphere over Russia on 15 February 2013. It was caused by an approximately 20 m near-Earth asteroid with a speed of 19.16 ± 0.15 kilometres per second. It quickly became a brilliant superbolide meteor over the southern Ural region. The light from the meteor was brighter than the Sun, visible up to 100 km away. It was observed over a wide area of the region and in neighbouring republics. Some eyewitnesses also felt intense heat from the fireball.

NASA | NPP Sees Aftermath of the Chelyabinsk Meteor
A meteor weighing 10,000 metric tons exploded only 23km above the city of Chelyabinsk in Russia on February 15, 2013. Unlike previous such events, this time scientists had the highly sensitive OMPS instrument on NPP to deliver unprecedented data and help them track and study the meteor plume for months. This video shows how accurately the model prediction coincided with the satellite observations.
