Russia: Footage captures moment of massive blast at electrical substation in Tomsk
A blast at an electrical substation affected the city of Tomsk, Thursday, causing blackouts throughout the city.
Mobile phone footage captured the explosion and plumes of smoke following the blast which reportedly took place at 13:30 local time (06:30 GMT). No injuries have been reported following the explosion.
Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) officers were dispatched to the scene, with the cause of the explosion still unknown.

Tomsk state university became the first center of science, education and culture in the Asian part of Russia and determined the future of Tomsk as a university town.
In 28 (16) May, 1878, Emperor Alexander II approved the decision of the State Council of the Russian Empire on the establishment of the Imperial University in Tomsk, Siberia.
Over the years, the university has produced more than 120,000 professionals, and it is hard to find a university or institution in Siberia, which has not worked with the graduates of Tomsk State University: they lead institutes and departments, laboratories and innovative companies.
