Hotel Schloss Leopoldskron Salzburg Austria April 2018
Our 2 night stay in a palace! Hotel Schloss Leopoldskron in Salzburg was beautiful! We truly enjoyed our short 2 night stay at this palace. the grounds were amazing. We visited in Spring, so there were lots of baby ducks everywhere on the property which I loved. It was a walk to the city center. But we really enjoyed the daily walk, exploring and gazing at the mountains and the fort up on the hill. Highly recommend staying here. The rooms are modern and have everything you need.

Salzburg (UNESCO) - Old Town in 4K Austria
W obecnym filmie oglądamy dalsze ciekawe miejsca lewobrzeżnego Salzburga, ale też przechodzimy w rejon katedry, aby zobaczyć go z innej perspektywy.

Daytrip to SALZBURG, AUSTRIA in the RAIN! // 069
Slavo, Victor(two co-Workawayers), and I set of to Salzburg for the day to do some sightseeing. It's my first time in Austria!
The most prominent thing about Salzburg, aside from the castle, is its obsession with Mozart! I mean, yeah, the guy was great, but they really milk the fact that he was born there.
On our daytrip to Salzburg, we visited the major landmarks (Mozart's birthplace, the place where Mozart lived, the place where Mozart's father died, and the castle). While it would have been better without the rain, it was still a beautiful city! I'd love to get back there on a sunny day to truly appreciate it.
See what's in my backpack:

Salzburg in winter, Austria
Antiquity to the High Middle Ages
Traces of human settlements have been found in the area, dating to the Neolithic Age. The first settlements in Salzburg continuous with the present were apparently by the Celts around the 5th century BC.
Around 15 BC the Roman Empire merged the settlements into one city. At this time, the city was called Juvavum and was awarded the status of a Roman municipium in 45 AD. Juvavum developed into an important town of the Roman province of Noricum. After the Norican frontier’s collapse, Juvavum declined so sharply that by the late 7th century it nearly became a ruin.
The Life of Saint Rupert credits the 8th-century saint with the city's rebirth. When Theodo of Bavaria asked Rupert to become bishop c. 700, Rupert reconnoitered the river for the site of his basilica. Rupert chose Juvavum, ordained priests, and annexed the manor of Piding. Rupert named the city Salzburg. He travelled to evangelise among pagans.
The name Salzburg means Salt Castle . The name derives from the barges carrying salt on the River Salzach, which were subject to a toll in the 8th century as was customary for many communities and cities on European rivers. Hohensalzburg Fortress, the city's fortress, was built in 1077 by Archbishop Gebhard, who made it his residence. It was greatly expanded during the following centuries.
Independence
Independence from Bavaria was secured in the late 14th century. Salzburg was the seat of the Archbishopric of Salzburg, a prince-bishopric of the Holy Roman Empire. As the Reformation movement gained steam, riots broke out among peasants in the areas in and around Salzburg. The city was occupied during the German Peasants' War, and the Archbishop had to flee to the safety of the fortress. It was besieged for three months in 1525.
Eventually, tensions were quelled, and the city's independence led to an increase in wealth and prosperity, culminating in the late 16th to 18th centuries under the Prince Archbishops Wolf Dietrich von Raitenau, Markus Sittikus, and Paris Lodron. It was in the 17th century that Italian architects (and Austrians who had studied the Baroque style) rebuilt the city centre as it is today along with many palaces.

From Vienna to Salzburg - Austria Day 4 [4k]
From Vienna to Salzburg - Austria Day 4 [4k]
On day 4 I traveled from Vienna to Salzburg where I would stay for about 2 days. The weather and scenery was great (despite the rain making it a little hard to record). I had lost my rode mic earlier which made it harder to avoid audio peaking. Decided to visit the Hohensalzburg fortress and walk around the area for a bit. I realized later that I didn't even get to see much of the central part of town (see in a later vlog)! There were some exhibitions within the fortress that I explored but didn't record so much since my camera was very low on batteries. It was a chill traveling day, hope you enjoy it :) #VisitAustria #VisitSalzburg

ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL LIBRARIES IN THE WORLD | EUROPE TRAVEL VLOG | DAY 25
Day 25 - Salzburg, Austria
Went and saw one of the most beautiful libraries in the world (not just in Austria, but it's definitely the most beautiful in Austria!) at this little monastery in the small town of St. Florian about an hour and a half outside of Salzburg. My tour was even led by a monk, which was pretty cool! And the whole monastery was beautiful, and other then their library, they are also very famous for their St. Florian's boy choir. A very cool day, even if it was a bit hard getting out there, so worth it!
