Halle is a city in central Germany. Opposite its 16th-century church Marktkirche Unser Lieben Frauen is the Roter Turm, a landmark Gothic bell tower. The Händel-Haus is the former home of the famed baroque composer, with exhibits on his life and music. Modern and classical art is on display at the Kunstmuseum Moritzburg, in a restored Renaissance castle. The Zoological Garden includes a section on mountain animals.
Saxony-Anhalt's largest city, Halle has a handful of impressive museums spanning themes as diverse as art, archaeology and the Beatles. It's most famous for being the birthplace of Georg Friedrich Händel. Halle was once a hotbed for the GDR’s chemical industry. When the GDR collapsed, the chemical factories gradually disappeared and the smoke began to clear. Change was slow, but some intelligent planning and major projects leading up to Halle’s 1200th birthday in 2006, combined with the presence of some 25,000 students attending the Martin Luther University, injected some life into this very old town. Once more, though, Halle has seen better days: its beautiful bits are beautiful indeed, but if you look closely into its darker corners, you might make out the hairline cracks that are beginning to appear on the facade of the unified Germany.
Halle is the largest city in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany with a population of 233,700. Located on the river Saale, it is often referred to as Halle an der Saale, or Halle (Saale) for short, to distinguish it from other municipalities in Germany sharing the same name. Halle has always been an important industrial centre - its industrial heritage spans salt mining, chemical industries and chocolate confectionery. Internationally, Halle is perhaps best known as the birthplace of the Baroque composer Georg Friedrich Händel, who later went on to a successful career in London.

Cuxhaven is an independent town and seat of the Cuxhaven district, in Lower Saxony, Germany. The town includes the northernmost point of Lower Saxony. It is situated on the shore of the North Sea at the mouth of the Elbe River.
Tourism is one of the traditional businesses of Cuxhaven. The other two are the fish industry, and the harbour. The city is trying to expand the latter and has invested a lot of money in the modernization and expansion of the port facility. Still, the economic situation isn't all too good and tourism remains the major industry of the city. Many people have left Cuxhaven in the past decades to settle elsewhere. Many of those who remain are retired, contributing to the small, quiet town ambiance.

Alte Liebe (Old Love) is a former quai turned viewing platform at the entrance to the Cuxhaven harbour. Good view of passing ships. Loudspeakers announce their names and origin.
Schloß Ritzebüttel Small castle-like building near the Nordersteinstraße shopping area.
The Kugelbake marks the geographic point where the Elbe river ends. Originally intended as a navigation aid, it is one of the more notable constructions in the region. It was incorporated in the Cuxhaven coat of arms when the city was incorporated and remains one of its primary landmarks.

This Wadden Sea is the area of the sea where the water recedes during low tide. It's one of the main reasons why people visit Cuxhaven. You can take walks, look at crabs, build castles from the sand and the mud, and so on. Be warned that the rising water can be tricky!

Halle (Saale) ist eine kreisfreie Großstadt im Süden von Sachsen-Anhalt in Deutschland und liegt an der Saale.
Mit ca. 240.000 Einwohnern ,ist Halle die größte Stadt und eines der drei Oberzentren des Landes sowie Sitz des Landesverwaltungsamtes. Sie ist die fünftgrößte Stadt der neuen Bundesländer und steht auf 31. Platz der deutschen Großstädte.
Die Stadt bildet gemeinsam mit der benachbarten Metropole #Leipzig den Ballungsraum #LeipzigHalle, in dem mehr als eine Million Menschen leben, sowie mit Leipzig und fünf weiteren Städten in Sachsen-Anhalt, Sachsen und Thüringen die Metropolregion Mitteldeutschland.
Halle ist ein bedeutender Verkehrsknotenpunkt und ein wichtiges Wirtschaftszentrum in den neuen Ländern.
Die Einwohnerzahl der Stadt überschritt 1890 die Grenze von 100.000, wodurch Halle zur Großstadt wurde. Als einzige deutsche Großstadt mit mehr als 200.000 Einwohnern im Jahr 1945 hat Halle den Zweiten Weltkrieg fast ohne Schäden überstanden, sodass ihr städtebaulicher Charakter unter den deutschen Großstädten als einzigartig gilt.

Una Storia was a cycle of five talks that rethink the classical artist talk format by internationally renowned artists from different generations. Una Storia is a project curated by Luca Lo Pinto.
Una Storia seeked to identify unusual interpretations and alternative routes to discussing widely recognized and established classics of the history of Italian and international art. To this effect five protagonists of the contemporary art scene have been invited and their narratives offered not only contemplations on the history of art, but more importantly interests and points of reference for the protagonists of art today.
Using words, images, sound and video these fascinating and surprising narrations were conveyed by each artist as five quick trips through history and time; five histories of art, balancing between an intimate and personal dimension and a more collective and familiar one.

Rabeninsel in Halle/Saale, Sachsen-Anhalt, Germany
Viele Erholungssuchende nutzen die Rabeninsel im südlichen Halle zwischen Saale und Wilder Saale zu ausgiebigen Spaziergängen, Walking-, Jogging- oder Fahrradrunden. Die Insel ist über zwei Brücken erreichbar. Bis zur Wende brachte eine Fähre Gäste auf die Insel.
Auch die Gastwirtschaften existieren schon lange nicht mehr.
Der ca. 41 ha große Auenwald auf der Insel bietet vielen Pflanzen und Tieren Heimat. Er gehört zum Naturschutzgebiet „Rabeninsel und Saaleaue bei Böllberg“.
Der Wald ist weitestgehend naturbelassen. Zur Pflege der Rabeninsel durften in den letzten Jahren nur die Kopfweiden auf der Märchenweise verschnitten werden und eine jährliche Mahd der Reh- und der Märchenwiese erfolgen.

CITY Beach Cup Halle in der Saalestadt Halle, Sachsen-Anhalt.
Beachvolleyball in Sachsen-Anhalt, dem Marktplatz mitten im Zentrum von Halle. Qualifiziert sind die Damenteams aus Sachsen-Anchalt und anderen Bundesländern. Das hochkarätige Beachvolleyball-Turnier gibt es seit 2009. City Beach 2015 mit Sparkassen-Masters. Der Marktplatz in Halle (Saale) hat sich wieder in eine riesige Sandkiste. Immer wieder kommt es zu Überraschungen durch Mannschaften von den hinteren Sitzplätzen.
