He planned and built the outer walls, and later additions were made by successive rulers continuing up to the 20th century. The credit for the urban layout of the city and its structures is attributed to two architects namely, Vidyadhar Bhattacharya, the chief architect in the royal court and Sir Samuel Swinton Jacob, apart from the Sawai himself who was a keen architectural enthusiast. The architects achieved a fusion of the Shilpa Shastra of Indian architecture with Rajput, and Mughal.

Every Jaipur palace including City Palace Jaipur has a great historical and heritage importance.
One of the Jaipur palace - the City Palace is situated in the heart of Jaipur City. This City palace is still a place of residence of Royal Family. It was built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II. City Palace is an excellent example of Indian architecture (Vastu).
A part of City Palace is converted into museum which is open for all. City Palace museum is divided in seven sections namely Bagghi Khana, Sabha Niwas, Sarvato Bhadra Chowk, Pritam Niwas Chowk, Mubarak Mahal, Sileh Khana and 36 Karkhanas.
City Palace Jaipur is certainly one of the best places to visit in Jaipur. So, don't forget to visit this Jaipur Palace during your Jaipur tour.

The City Palace in Jaipur is Rajasthan's largest palace. The exterior of the palace features balconies, towers, cupolas and arches, while the interior features mirrors, tiles, carvings, paintings and artefacts. Background music is Far the Days Come by Letterbox.

सिटी पैलेस का इतिहास शुरू से ही जयपुर शहर और उसके शासको के इतिहास से जुड़ा हुआ है, जिसकी शुरुवात महाराजा सवाई जय सिंह द्वितीय से होती है, जिन्होंने 1699 से 1744 तक शहर पर राज किया था। महल के निर्माण का श्रेय सबसे पहले उन्ही को दिया जाता है, क्योकि उन्होंने ही महल में काफी एकरो तक फैलने वाली दीवार के निर्माण की शुरुवात यहाँ की थी।
शुरू में महाराजा अपने शहर अम्बेर से जयपुर पर शासन करते थे, जो जयपुर से 11 किलोमीटर की दुरी पर स्थित है। लेकिन 1727 में अम्बेर में जनसँख्या की समस्या और पानी की कमी होने के कारण उन्होंने जयपुर को अपनी राजधानी बनाया। उन्होंने वास्तुशास्त्र के अनुसार इस शहर को 6 अलग-अलग भागो में बाटने की योजना बना रखी थी।
यह सब उन्होंने अपने सलाहकार विद्याधर भट्टाचार्य के कहने पर किया था, जो नैनीताल में रहने वाले एक बंगाली आर्किटेक्ट थे। शुरू में वे अम्बेर के खजाने के अकाउंट-क्लर्क थे और बाद में राजा ने उन्हें दरबार का मुख्य आर्किटेक्ट बनाया था।

City palace Jaipur is one of the most popular tourist destinations in India, known for its fusion architecture and history. However, what still remains a little less explored is this building called Chandra Mahal or Chandra Niwas inside the City palace where Royal family of Jaipur still resides.

The Old City of Jaipur by night is ...well....very interesting, bustling and noisy. Commerce goes late into the night so that is the evening entertainment - walk the commercial streets and take in the fascinating scene. Being January the days are short and it gets dark early. This is a definite disadvantage of going to India at this time of year. On the other hand it is the only time to go to India because the summer heat would be unbearable. This way we spent four weeks in India without experiencing heat.

Jaipur in Rajasthan, India is an amazing city with so much to offer. This video explores some of the best tourist places to visit in Jaipur as well as some of the top places to stay and eat inside the pink city. Jaipur was truly one of our favourite places to visit in India!
Our tips for Jaipur:
1. Try to stay in a Palace! There are so many to choose from but we highly recommend Pearl Palace Heratige as it is world famous and has uniquely themed rooms!
2. You MUST try the Soil flower pot from Nibs chocolateria and cafe! It is no joke the best dessert we have ever had!
3. Peacock rooftop restaurant has amazing food and reasonable prices! At night time there is live music and a must try dish is their thali.
4. Amer (Amber) fort is the number 1 tourist place in Jaipur for a very good reason! You must visit it when coming to Jaipur!
