00:00-00:19
- Hi, everyone, this is Maria from travelguidelisbon.com, and this video is about the hop-on hop-off bus tours in Lisbon. I'm going to talk about which one is the best option, the prices and schedules, and what the tour includes and what it covers.
00:29-00:43
- Now, there are plenty of companies offering hop-on hop-off bus services in Lisbon. The two most popular ones are the Yellow Bus Company and the City Sightseeing Company. That is the one with the big red buses.
The Yellow Bus Company 00:49-01:21
- First, I'm going to describe the Yellow Bus Company simply because that's my favorite choice. I think they offer the best value for your money.
- Now, the Yellow Bus Company, it uses big yellow double-decker open-top buses, where you can listen to the commentary in 12 different languages. The Yellow Bus Company has two main routes in winter, and three routes in summer season. (...)
The Yellow Bus Tagus Route 01:26-02:06
- So the three routes of the Yellow Bus are the Tagus route, the Olisipo route and the Belem route. Now I would start with the Tagus route, because that's the one which starts in the old historic city center of Lisbon and covering all the main attractions there and then it drives off to the Belem district and covers all the main attractions there, such as the Belém Tower and the Jerónimos Monastery.(...)
The Yellow Bus The Olisipo Tour 02:11-03:05
- The Olisipo tour is the route which also starts in the old historic city center of Lisbon but then it drives off to a different direction to a district called Parque das Nações. This is a modern area of Lisbon which was built for the '98 World Exposition which was held in Lisbon and this area is also packed with some top attractions such as the Lisbon Oceanarium or The Vasco da Gama Bridge but you will also find here, cable car, The Pavilion of Knowledge or it also stops at the Azulejos Museum on the way here (...)
The Yellow Bus Duration 03:06-03:26
- The duration of the Olisipo and the Tagus route is more or less one hour, forty minutes (...)
The Yellow Bus Belem Summer Route 03:28-04:30
- The third route of the Yellow Bus Company is called the Belem route. Well, this one runs only in summer season, and this is a complimentary tour to the Tagus route. Because this is a tour of Belém, so it's a little bit more detailed tour of Belém not only on the waterfront, but if you go all around behind the buildings and smaller streets, it will stop at the Maritime Museum or the National Museum of Coches and such places (...)
The Yellow Bus What is included 04:35-05:31
- So how much does it cost with the Yellow Bus Company? So the ticket costs 22 euros 50 for an adult (...) So the price of 22 Euros 50 cents includes 48 hours of hop-on hop-off bus services, the Santa Justa Elevator, The funiculars and trams of Lisbon, that includes the famous Tram 28, which is the sightseeing tram of Lisbon, and funiculars, as well, such as the Gloria funicular. Then the price also includes Aerobus ticket (...)
City Sightseeing Bus (Red Bus) 05:37-05:51
- The second company I'm going to talk about is the City Sightseeing Company. That's the one which are using the big red buses. They are also double-decker and up on top where you can listen to the commentary in 12 different languages.
City Sightseeing Bus The Blue and Red Lines 05:57-06:58
- They have two routes, the blue line and the red line. The red line is the one which explores the old historic city center of Lisbon, and then it drives off to Belém and explore the Belém and all the main attractions there. (...)
- The Blue Line is the one that also starts in the city center, but then it drives off to Parque das Nacoes to explore that area and its attractions. (...)
City Sightseeing Bus Price 07:03-07:30
- So how much does it costs? Well a ticket for an adult costs 22 Euros in the winter season (...). But this price is for 24 hours, so this ticket is for one day only.
City Sightseeing Bus 25% Discount Lisban Card 07:35-07:47
- If you have the Lisboa Card, you will receive 25% discount on the price of the hop-on hop-off buses of the red buses, from the City Sightseeing Company ticket.
A few last tips 07:52-08:20
- So that's about it for today. Please visit our website travelguidelisbon.com where I have also prepared a comparison table for you between the Yellow Bus and the City Sightseeing bus company, where you can compare them (...)

00:00 - 00:17
Hey guys. I'm Maria from Travel Guide Lisbon and today I'm going to talk about the Lisboa Card. What is the Lisbon Card? What is included in the Lisbon Card? Where can you buy it? For how much and if it's worth it for you?
00:18 - 00:51
So, what is the Lisbon Card? The Lisbon Card is the official visit and travel card for Lisbon. It's not only museums and attraction pass, but also a travel card, transportation card within Lisbon, which give you unlimited free public transportation within Lisbon.
Not only that, it also gives you free train rides to Sintra and Cascais. Also, 25% discount on the Aerobus, which is a bus service between the airport and the city and then 25% off on the citysightseeing hop-on hop-off passes.
00:51 - 01:05
As for the museums and attractions pass, it is a discount card, which gives you free and discounted entrances on the main attractions in Lisbon and nearby towns such as in Central.
01:05 - 01:29
So, some examples of the free attractions included in the Lisbon Card are the iconic Belem Tower in Lisbon or the most famous Jeronimos Monastery. The famous Tram 28. The Elevador de Santa Justa, which was designed by Eiffel or numerous museums such as the National Museum of Azulejos.
01:30 - 02:04
For discounted prices, discounted and trip prices. For example, the Oceanarium of Lisbon. The Gulbenkian Museum. The Fado Museum and the most known world heritage sites in Sintra such as the famous Pena Palace, the Quinta da Regaleira and the Park of Monserrate, they are all included in the Lisbon Card. I have written a longer list for you on our website, Travel Guide Lisbon at the Lisbon Card. You can read there more about that.
02:05 - 02:48
So, where can you buy your Lisbon Card? You can either buy it online on our website or on the spot in Lisbon in a ticket office. I have written you a list as well on the website in which ticket offices you can buy it. Where are the ticket offices, but for example there is one straight away at the airport that at the arrival hall or on one of the main squares of Lisbon, the Praca do Comercio in the Lisbon Welcome Center. If you choose to buy your ticket online, you will receive an email with a voucher and you will have to take this voucher with you along with your passport or ID to a ticket office where you will redeem your Lisbon Card and you will also receive a small tour guide and a city map together with it.
02:49 - 03:11
So, your options are, you can buy a 24 hours, a 48 hours or a 72 hours Lisbon Card. The 24 hours Lisbon Card cost 19 Euros for an adult. The two-day pass cost 32 Euros and the three-days pass cost 40 Euros for an adult. It's free for children under the age of four.
03:12 - 03:35
Is the Lisbon Card worth it? Absolutely yes. If you manage to visit two or three attractions at least a day, then your Lisbon Card has already paid for itself. Even in the summer when in high season when you can count with longer waiting times in queues, even then, it's doable. I would absolutely recommend the Lisbon Card.
03:36 - 03:57
For example, if you spend two days in Lisbon, you can buy the 48 hours pass, but if you want to take it easy, you can only buy the 24 hours pass, and the next day, take it easy and just walk around the streets of Lisbon, you know? You don't have to be running around museums and monuments all the time you are there. You can just choose to buy a one-day pass, and one day, take it easy.
03:58 - 04:14
But you can also buy the two-days pass, and the first day, visit all the attractions in Lisbon, and the second day, you can spend the day, for example, in Sintra. Spend your day there. The Lisbon Card is perfect for that as well because, don't forget, it includes a free train ride to Sintra and back.
04:15 - 04:23
I hope you enjoyed this video. Don't forget to subscribe to our channel. Have a nice day. Bye bye.

Lisbon (Lisboa) - capital city of Portugal
An impression of Lisbon, Portugal. More videos of Lisbon:
Lisbon (Portuguese: Lisboa) is the capital and the largest city of Portugal. It is one of the oldest cities in the world, and the oldest in Western Europe, predating other modern European capitals such as London, Paris and Rome by centuries.
The city is rich in architecture; Romanesque, Gothic, Manueline, Baroque, Modern and Postmodern constructions can be found all over Lisbon.
Its urban area extends beyond the city's administrative limits. About approximately 27% of the country's population live in the Lisbon Metropolitan Area. The municipality of Lisbon includes 24 civil parishes ('frequesias').
Lisbon has a Mediterranean climate with mild, rainy winters and warm to hot, dry summers. The typical summer season lasts about four months, from June to September.
It is continental Europe's westernmost capital city and the only one along the Atlantic coast. Lisbon lies in the western Iberian Peninsula on the Atlantic Ocean and the River Tagus.
DISTRICTS:
Alfama - the oldest district of Lisbon; it spreads down the southern slope from the Castle of São Jorge to the River Tagus.
Baixa Pombalina - downtown district; it is the heart of the city.
Chiado - a traditional shopping area that mixes old and modern commercial establishments, concentrated specially in the Rua do Carmo and the Rua Garrett.
Bairro Alto - upper district that functions as a residential, shopping, restaurant/bar/club area; it is the centre of a youth-oriented nightlife.
Belém - famous district from which many of the great Portuguese explorers set off on their voyages of discovery.
Parque das Nações - the newest district in Lisbon, having emerged from an urban renewal program leading to the World Exhibition of Lisbon 1998, also known as Expo'98.

[4K] LISBON, PORTUGAL WALKING TOUR- Restaurant and shopping area
How do we afford to travel so often? We're lucky enough to stay for almost free in every city, using
Explore Lisbon's central shopping and restaurant area as if you were there, in this 4k tour.
We start at the intersection of Largo do Chiado and R.Garrett, in the district of Baixa-Chiado by the entrance to the Chiado Metro station.
We walk past two famous statues, Escultura de Fernando Pessoa and Estátua de António Ribeiro before heading down this pretty Lisbon shopping area.
Sometimes, one of the best things to do in Lisbon is to walk it's charming streets. The Bertrand Bookshop on the corner of R. Anchieta is covered in stunning blue tiles, and it leads us down to the Armazéns do Chiado shopping centre at the end of the street.
Here we turn left down R. do Carmo to see the famous Santa Justa Lift (Elevador de Santa Justa) crossing above us.
Folowing R. de Santa Justa we cross the busy R. Áurea and head down Rua dos Correiros - where we see some great restaurants and more beautiful tiled buildings.
Turning onto R. Augusta with it's intricately tiled pavement, our eye is led towards the great arch known as Arco da Rua Augusta.

LISBON: Alfama - oldest district (1/5) Portugal
Alfama is the oldest district of Lisbon/Lisboa (Portugal), spreading on the slope between the São Jorge Castle and the Tagus/Tejo river. Its name comes from the Arabic Al-hamma, meaning hot fountains or baths. It contains many important historical attractions, as well as an abundance of Fado bars and restaurants.
Overlooking the Alfama is the medieval Castle of São Jorge, offering the best views of the city.
On the slopes of Alfama there are terraces/viewpoints ('miradouros') from which to see the city, like the Miradouro de Santa Luzia (near the church of the same name and over remnants of the Moorish city walls) and the Miradouro das Portas do Sol.
Near the Miradouro de Santa Luzia is located the Museum of Decorative Arts (Museu de Artes Decorativas), a 17th-century mansion with magnificent interiors.
Among the churches of the Alfama are Lisbon Cathedral (12th–14th century, oldest of the city), the Convento da Graça (18th century), the Monastery of São Vicente de Fora (late 16th–18th century), and the baroque Church of Santa Engrácia (17th century), now converted into the National Pantheon ('Panteão Nacional'). Here important Portuguese personalities are buried, like presidents of the republic and writers.

LISBON, PORTUGAL — Walking Travel Tour【4K】????????
A Camera Floating Among The Crowd. Walking Around PORTUGAL by Wanna Walk — Welcome to LISBON, where geography is hard on the feet but very pleasant to the eye! The city is extremely hilly, in fact, Lisbon is built on seven hills.
Lisbon is Portugal’s hilly, coastal capital city. From imposing São Jorge Castle, the view encompasses the old city’s pastel colored buildings, Tagus Estuary and Ponte 25 de Abril suspension bridge. Nearby, the National Azulejo Museum displays 5 centuries of decorative ceramic tiles. Just outside Lisbon is a string of Atlantic beaches, from Cascais to Estoril.

Portugal is a southern European country on the Iberian Peninsula, bordering Spain. Its location on the Atlantic Ocean has influenced many aspects of its culture: salt cod and grilled sardines are national dishes, the Algarve's beaches are a major destination and much of the nation’s architecture dates to the 1500 to 1800s, when Portugal had a powerful maritime empire.
This is a walking tour around Lisbon (Lisboa) the capital of Portugal. Be sure to visit the Castelo de São Jorge, Museu do Teatro Romano, Ponte 25 de Abril, Ponte Vasco da Gama, Aqueduto das Aguas Livres, Belem Tower and more. Be sure to check the Portuguese food, because it's just fantastic. Dining rituals tend to follow the Mediterranean siesta body clock.

Correction: Instead of the Golden Gate Bridge, the Oakland Bay Bridge in San Francisco was built from the same company like the Ponte 25 de Abril. But the bridge Ponte 25 de Abril really looks like the Golden Gate Bridge :)

Portugal Magnificent #2 (of 6): Segway City Tour in Lisbon
We returned to Portugal but now with more time available. We spent one full day in Lisbon when we walked the Praça do Comércio area (video 1) and we did a Segway Tour in the historic Lisbon (video 2). In following days we have also been to Sintra, Belém and Porto.
The capital of Portugal, Lisbon (Portuguese: Lisboa) has experienced a renaissance in recent years, with a contemporary culture that is alive and thriving and making its mark in today's Europe. Perched on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean, Lisbon is one of the rare Western European cities that face the ocean and uses water as an element that defines the city. Lisbon enchants travelers with its white bleached limestone buildings, intimate alleyways, and an easy going charm that makes it a popular year round destination. Praça do Comércio: this magnificent plaza, facing the river, is the beginning of Lisboa's downtown. It is also known as 'Terreiro do Paço', meaning 'Grounds of the Palace', relating to its function before the Great Earthquake of 1755.
Belém: this monument-packed neighborhood is a must-see place.
Sintra is both a town and a municipality in the Lisbon Coast/aka Estoril Coast region of Portugal. Its spectacular setting, 28km from Lisbon, houses a Royal Palace, used by generations of Portuguese royalty prior to the 1910 revolution. The surrounding hills are surmounted by the remains of the Moorish Castle and by the nineteenth-century Pena Palace. Historic Sintra is an heritage patrimony sight declared by UNESCO. The Estoril coast is often considered to be part of the Lisbon coast, which includes Cascais, Lisbon, Sintra, and other nearby municipalities. Near Estoril, the majestic Sintra Mountains cast a veil of mystery over the town nestling on its northern slopes. The hills and the surrounding area have been classified by UNESCO as a World Heritage site both for their cultural significance and for their outstanding natural beauty. It includes the Pena park with Pena Palace (Palácio da Pena).
Porto (Oporto): the northern capital, Invincible City, along the river Douro and the Atlantic Ocean

Lisbon Full City Guide - Travel in Portugal - Travel & Discover
Lisbon is one of the oldest cities in the world, and the oldest in Western Europe, predating other modern European capitals such as London, Paris and Rome by centuries. Julius Caesar made it a municipium called Felicitas Julia, adding to the name Olissipo. Ruled by a series of Germanic tribes from the 5th century, it was captured by the Moors in the 8th century. In 1147, the Crusaders under Afonso Henriques reconquered the city and since then it has been a major political, economic and cultural centre of Portugal.
