City Walks - Aberdeen Scotland Walking Tour - Virtual walk and Walking Treadmill Video explores the granite city.
Aberdeen is known as the Granite City which implies a bleak and grey city. We found it to be absolutely beautiful with lots of great museums, hotels, restaurants, and leafy parks. This walking treadmill video is the first of two around this port city, known for its wealth due to the oil industry. The second treadmill walk will be along the aberdeen harbor. The north sea oil fields have been crucial to the modern development of Aberdeen and it's why many of the museums have free entry.
If you want a guided tours of scotland, there are many companies that do that but this is a free walking tour of this lovely city and a great starter if you want to visit Aberdeen. Aberdeen is the city, Aberdeenshire is the large county.

In 2012, HSBC named Aberdeen as a leading business hub and one of eight 'super cities' spearheading the UK's economy, marking it as the only city in Scotland to receive this accolade.
Aberdeen Airport (ABZ), at Dyce in the north of the city, serves domestic and international destinations. The Dee Estuary, Aberdeen's harbour, has continually been improved. Starting out as a fishing port. Aberdeen is connected to the UK National Cycle Network, and has a track to the south connecting to cities such as Dundee and Edinburgh. National Express operate express coach services to London twice daily.

This is footage from my walk through Aberdeen, Scotland on my way to the airport. I was very impressed by the friendliness of the locals and in general from the city. It is indeed one of the nicest places in UK I've seen so far.
A look at Old Aberdeen, Aberdeen, Aberdeen City, Scotland, UK
Old Aberdeen is an ancient town which now lies within the newer city of Aberdeen. Situated to the north of the city, the area known as Old Aberdeen is now home to the University of Aberdeen though the campus still welcomes visitors. Old Aberdeen is an absolute gem lying within the better known city of Aberdeen. The two were once totally separate entities and still have unique identities. Aberdeen is the modern sister while Old Aberdeen, like its name suggests, has preserved its heritage and is a definite must-see for visitors to Aberdeen.
One of the oldest structures in Old Aberdeen is Brig O' Balgownie or the bridge over the River Don. An ancient monument, the bridge was constructed in the 13th century and according to legend the work was finished by Robert the Bruce. However, the structure which you'll see on your visit is largely the result of reconstruction in the mid 19th century. Heading up Don Street from the bridge brings you to Seaton Park, a beautiful green space which once surrounded Seaton House. Amongst the interesting features of the park here is Tillydrone Motte. Formerly thought to be the remains of a 12th century castle, archaeological excavation has revealed that this mound was created in the 2nd century. It has yet to be determined whether the structure was used as a defence or for burial. A short distance to the west is the late 16th century Benholm's Lodge. A turreted town house, it was moved (stone by stone) to its present position in 1965 when Netherkirk Gate was developed.

I love a good city. I mean, don't get me wrong, disappearing to a hot country to lose yourself on a beach, hiking up a mountain to conquer all or skiing down a slope for the exhilaration is great. But there is something jaw dropping about a city skyline and view that is just magical.
Whenever I visit a new city, it always makes me think about how the infrastructure was built. How the roads were formed, and how the giant slab of concrete was once a flowing meadow of grass. I always want to see what I would do to improve it.
Well, this series is just that; as I aim to replicate the Silver City with Golden Sands - Aberdeen, UK. Please feel free to keep in touch and tell me what looks good and what doesn't work, and i'll try to include comments and ideas as we go!

Cities: Skylines is a progression of development from Colossal Order's previous Cities in Motion titles that focused on designing effective transportation systems. While the developers felt they had the technical expertise to expand to a full city simulation game, their publisher Paradox held off on the idea, fearing the market dominance of SimCity. However, after the critical failure of the 2013 SimCity game, Paradox greenlit the title.

Let's Celebrate Aberdeen - The faces and places of Scotland's greatest city
It’s a big weekend here in Aberdeen as we get set to celebrate all that’s great about the City.
Celebrate Aberdeen is happening throughout the 22nd and 23rd of August and sees the return of the popular third sector parade along Union Street, which showcases the work of the amazing charities and volunteers who help make Aberdeen a better place.
Both days will see Union Terrace Gardens become a giant area of celebration with live music from local talent on the Celebrate Aberdeen stage.
Here at Northsound 1, we wanted to do our bit and help to celebrate everything that’s great about Aberdeen! So, we’ve put together a video to show off our amazing city. Thanks to everyone who got involved, from the charities and emergency services, to the people like us, working and living and breathing Aberdeen!

Hi guys Aberdeen is a very nice place to visit .very nice clean and quite city . Really enjoyed the place and the company of family and Friends. Had a amazing time enjoyed all the food there liked the mars bar it was nice and crunchy the price was £ 2.50 and the Angus Burger with fries was Just £ 3.00 that was really great .Can't wait to get back to Aberdeen
