Today we are in Szczecin in northwest Poland and will be travelling with PKP InterCity to Krzyż, and in part 2 (TTR164) onward to Poznań. The main railway station, Szczecin Główny, was opened by the Prussians in 1843 and rebuilt by the communists after the war. The station, that serves a population of over 400,000, is due to be rebuilt again by 2016 – rebuilding was not seen as a priority by PKP as the city played no part in the Euro 2012 football! For technical reasons we start our cab run at Stargard Szczeciński, which is the first stop, about 10km from Szczecin. Our train is TLK83516, haulage is an EP07 with six bogie coaches in tow - the time is 13.25. We have to be candid, the start of the run is not the prettiest in Poland, but it is a busy and mixed traffic route for freight. The obvious movements of materials to Szczecin port are all there – coal, oil, chemicals, but because of the train ferry to Sweden so is mixed wagonload including modern bogie sliding wall vans. PKP don’t have any of their own, they rely on their neighbours or the private hire companies such as Transwaggon. The run concludes at the industrial town of Krzyż half way to Poznań. Filmed in HD. Poland: Pride and prejudice at Plock's first ever gay pride parade

The central Polish town of Plock held its first ever gay pride parade on Saturday.

The event passed off peacefully largely due to a heavy police presence separating some 2,500 marchers from counter-protesters lining the streets.

Police made several arrests of counter-protesters, some of whom sought to block the march.

The parade in Plock, about 100km (62 miles) north-west of Warsaw, followed the first ever pride parade in Bialystok in eastern Poland, which was marred by violent clashes three weeks previously.

Poland's conservative government has been accused of encouraging homophobic prejudice.

I would like to acknowledge the help that iblis84 has given me, sending me a link which shows the house that appears at :26 as it is today, as well as other information about what is seen.
Mom standing here (52.735311, 15.226524) with photo taken towards east/northeast. The 2 homes with barn-like roofs are here (52.735576, 15.227020) and here (52.735373, 15227023). The house with the steep-angled roof between the two homes is here (52.735526, 15.227605). The steep-angled roof to the far left of the picture is here (52.735796, 15.227020). The street is named Szymanowskiego. I do not know what the street was called when my mother lived in this area from 1938 – 1944. I believe that my mother actually lived in the apartments here (52.735467, 15225914) on what today is Chopina St, and she is seen in her “backyard” in the photos at :26.

The Krakow Royal Road is the historic ceremonial route that King’s and other royalty would use as they made their way through the city when it was Poland’s capital.

Today, this royal route links most of the main tourist sites and other historical landmarks in the Krakow Old Town.

The best way to explore Krakow is to start by following the Royal Road through the center of the Old Town and making your way to Wawel Hill and the Wawel Castle.

I recommend starting your journey early in the morning, especially during the warmer summer months, to avoid the insane tourist crowds in the Krakow Old Town during the day.

WAWA Bla Bla invites you to the opening exhibition of 'FEMIFLOWER' by artist Dawid Majgat.

Both Guido and I were excited when we first saw Dawid's work during an art/design market in an old industrial factory somewhere in Praga a few years ago. Guido fell for his painting on canvas and I for his lithographic work. Since moving to Warsaw from his home town, Gorzow Wielkopolski, Dawid has also been hitting the walls of Warsaw streets with his 'Monster' themed projects, but monsters are just one of his passions. For his young years (born 1990) get ready to be stunned by the beauty and raunchiness of this exhibition.

We hope you can join us on this evening for a glass of wine and a preview of our first exhibition.

Image is my international language.
My style is based on simplicity of vector graphic mixed with organic free-hand drawing. The world I create contains elements from our everyday life, in contemporary culture of video game, cartoon and pop mixed with traditional folk/ethnic culture. All of that is expressed with a dose of sense of humour.
I’m also writing a blog and it really matters to me in constant progress, because words are always the beginning of something new.
My media's are painting, illustration, graphic design and street art.
I was born in 1990 in Gorzów Wielkopolski, finished the master printmaking and graphic design studies in Toruń in 2015. Today I live in Warsaw which is the perfect place for me to explode and explore with colours and shape.
