Now, a lot of my subscribers told me they really wanted to see a video on Eurostar. So that’s exactly what I went and made.

I hadn’t actually been on Eurostar since around 2012, so this was a welcome return. As a kid I remember quite vividly the opening of the Channel Tunnel and the start of Eurostar service. It seemed glamorous in a way that perhaps has faded a bit, as we’ve become used to being able to easily access Europe by train.

Our journey takes us, on a classic Class 373 train, east from St Pancras and straight down into Kent on High Speed 1, Britain’s first proper dedicated high speed railway. We stop briefly at Ebbsfleet International before continuing in a straight line directly towards the tunnel at Folkestone, blasting through Ashford International without stopping. After 31 miles of tunnel we pop out near Sangatte and Calais-Fréthun, and head, via Lille, to Paris.

Sadly, the weather was rather grey in both Britain and France for this video! But you can’t have it all.

Eurostar trains have 18 carriages with three classes of travel. 10 carriages are Standard Class, 5 are Standard Premier (what you might call a hybrid between Standard and First Class), and there’s one Business Premier carriage, where hot meals are served, and customers get flexibility and lounge access. Business Premier is really directed at the corporate traveller, and Standard Premier is probably as much as you’ll need for a good trip.

The surroundings are comfortable and the ride smooth despite the age of the train. My only complaint - a weak meal service. The portion sizes are very small and the quality hit and miss. My fruit salad was not fresh, which is very disappointing. This isn’t hard to get right when you’re loading food in the middle of London.

Anyways, sit back and watch the journey, and let me and the train take the strain... ????????????????

Paris City Tour (it was magical in winter!). No wonder it is called city of lights!

Hi! This is a compilation of our videos from our recent family holidays in Paris! We just Love Paris! It is an amazing city and we are very thankful that the weather was cooperative. we were able to see blue skies. The temperature was rather chilly but not too bad.

The first order of our trip was Champs Elysees. Then moved to Eiffel Tower and then the Louvre Museum. We also went to Galeries Lafayette to experience the magical looking dome. We did a little shopping and the tax refund process was very convenient as they can process it inside the mall on the same day.

This is the first part of our tour. our next set was in Disneyland Paris which will be coming in another video soon!

Herve: My name is Herve and I'm giving the Prestige Tour in Versailles. Today we're going to be going behind the scenes.

Here we are in the nave of the Chapel Saint Louis inside the palace and as you see, we get to go in the nave, which is not the case for most people.

I love being a tour guide and specifically on the Prestige Tour, because I get to open the doors that we're not supposed to open.

We are in the bathroom of Marie Antoinette. How come there's a bed in the bathroom? For the reason that in those days, doctors would say that taking a bath would weaken your body, so after taking a bath, you had to lie down.

Now we arrive behind Marie Antoinette's bedroom. So Marie Antoinette fled through here, going from her bedroom to the Salon of the Bull's Eyes, and to the king's bedroom when the palace was attacked.

Louis XV was very well known for having many, many mistresses, but Madame de Pompadour is the main one. She was treated like she was a queen, even though she wasn't, and that's why she was hated.

Here we are in front of the Petit Trianon. The Petit Trianon is Marie Antoinette's estate. Queen Marie Antoinette used to say that when she was at Trianon, she was not the Queen, but she was herself.

This is the hamlet. The idea was to recreate a village of Normandy. It had to look very natural.

Man: We got into the background. That was just amazing. That's what makes it VIP, very special. I would give the tour a 10 out of 5.

‘Let’s Go’ to the City of Light and love — to explore the monument-lined boulevards, world-class cuisine, and art-enriched streets of Paris.

There’s a reason the storied, romantic city of Paris is one of the world’s most visited capitals. Sit on the steps in front of the white-domed Sacré-Cœur and watch as performers juggle footballs while climbing the lampposts, all with the entire cityscape spread out behind them. Walk down to explore the rest of Montmartre — stop in at once of the classic Parisian cafes for the plat du jour and a noisette, an espresso with a hazelnut-sized dollop of cream. You could go to Pigalle to experience the traditional “Paris by night,” or hit the best punk bar in town, hidden in the backstreets and alleys of the Bastille.

Or, visit any of the other incredible places captured by the BD team: Les Deux Plateaux, the Montparnasse Tower, the Jardin Du Palais, Belleville, Saint-Germain-Des-Prés, Metiers Metro Station and the Trocadero. Whatever you do, wear your rose-tinted glasses and comfortable shoes.

Woman 1: The clients are going to love learning a little bit about the tower, seeing it from lots of different perspectives, and the best part is that they get to skip the lines, go straight up to the second level and appreciate the monuments from there.

So you guys today are going to get to go up to the summit and get a view that Parisians first saw in 1889. Who was the tower created by? Gustave Eiffel. They put something at the very, very, very top that was really valuable. What do you think it was? Radio antenna, exactly. This became the tallest radio tower in the world. From Place de la Concorde, follow your right. That obelisk is the most ancient monument in Paris. Before that obelisk was there, anyone have a guess what was there? The guillotine. Any guess what that is? There's something called the Mona Lisa there. The Louvre. At the base of this green field here, which is called the Champs du Mars, named for the god of war, is where Napoleon went to school. What do you think the Parisians thought when they came up here? They loved it, so they kept coming back.
