My name is Dennis. In 2009, I opened this channel to record or document this city. I know something is being changed in next decade(s), or I felt the change have began since 2003, no later in 2046. I want to, at least, save some kind of city life in video form instead of taken photo or written in words. I strongly believe that motion picture and sound recording are much better way to preserve and present in the future when young generation want to get know of Hong Kong.
In May of 2018, I wrote the following statement in below:
.....................................................................................
Hi everyone, thank you for supporting me in fulfilling my childhood dream of making videos.
My parents had always taken a tolerant attitude toward my “capricious”: whether my work is feasible and sustainable... and they never complained about it.
As my father just passed away in May, I am left with no choice but to give up my video making venture.
In Hong Kong where the cost of living is sky high, youtube video making is simply not sustainable by google adsense alone. The revenue produced is way too insufficient for affording a domestic helper, and I must look after my mom all by myself - this is why I must stay very close to her at all times.
Unless my revenue is closed to market rate, or my income can cover a domestic helper, otherwise I can hardly justify any video-related works.
Therefore, from now on everything video will be postponed in terms of year(s).
Thank you, and hope to see you all again in the future.
..............................................................
Because I am the only son of my mother in Hong Kong, and I have to take care of her at home. I almost give up this channel because of high consumption of time and living cost. But I found some extra time.
I live in Fanling, north part of New Territories, so it will include my showtime of traveling back and forth. Because of home care to my old mother, there will be no time other than 9:00 to 16:00 because my mother is staying at the senior daycare center, so before and after that, I will NOT able to do filming.
I understand most of you are looking for high quality of video, e.g. 4K or 8K. But hardware is so important at this post-production, that is, the higher quality video, the higher powerful computer to render video. In recently, I solved matter by paid for PowerDirector apps to make 4K on my Pocophone F1, 1 hour of 4K video = 2 hour to make, besides, the convert 4K file time is around 24 hours......
I will continue to run this channel as long as the time is fit-on-me or I don't see any kind of video job could fit me.
I hope this is clear to everyone.

A tour of Hong Kong Island and Kowloon at night via Big Bus Open-Top Tours (晚上香港及九龍遊). So we're back on the Big Bus again this time we're doing a night tour and I'm really excited about this one especially because Hong Kong really shines at night. It's an amazing city by day but there is just something spectacular about it at night time.

Airport Bus A21 Citybus Hong Kong Airport to Nathan Road (Road Journey)
We took the CityBus A21 from HK Airport to 380 Nathan Road. We were staying at a hotel called the Eaton Hotel, Hong Kong.
It was very easy and convenient to get to the bus stop at HK. Along Nathan Road, we stopped at bus stop number 10. The hotel was less than a 5 minute walk away, on the main road.
Bus fare was HK$33 per adult and half price per child. Bus driver does not have change. We paid in cash, HK$100 for the four of us (2 adults and 2 kids).
Time taken was about 45 minutes.

heading to Brightbus's garage seeing the very dated ex-Hong Kong buses
Driving FROM the supermarket nearest TO Brightbus's garage in North Anston Trading Estate, Rotherham, South Yorkshire (near Sheffield).
This school bus company has a bunch of former double deckers served by three Hong Kong companies: Kowloon Motor Bus, Citybus and China Motor Bus. Since Brightbus has announced its closure at the end of July, it is worth a visit even though it is not a school day when we can see these buses running.
How to travel between Hong Kong and the Shenzhen North Railway Station - part 1 Using the bus
It is possible and easy to travel from Hong Kong to various destinations in China by high speed trains. From Shenzhen, just over the border, it is possible to reach most key destinations in China. Bullet trains depart from the Shenzhen North Railway Station. There are multiple trains to Beijing and Shanghai but also to the Guilin / Yangshuo area in just a few hours.
In this video we cover the shuttle bus that goes from various point is Hong Kong to the Shenzhen North Railway station (and vice versa). In part 2 of this video, we will show how to do it by subway.
The travel time of the bus is about the same as the subway although the subway in not influenced by the rush hour traffic and has more frequent departures. So the subway is often quicker. The bus is also a bit more expensive but much more comfortable.
For both videos, we picked Tsim Sha Tsui as our destination or point of departure. The total travel time was less than 2 hours:
- Departure Shenzhen North .................11h15
- Arrive at border....................... .............11h50
- Immigration process completed ........12h05
- Bus /subway on HK side departs .......12h20
- Arrive in Tsim Sha Tsui........................13h05
- Total travel time .........1h50
Cost of the bus 80RMB (about US$12)
We recommend using the company called Trans-Island Chinalink. On their website you can see the various pick-up or drop-off points in Honk Kong as well as the price (including the airport):
Make sure to watch part 2 on using the subway:

城巴有限公司是香港的一家巴士公司,同時提供專利巴士和非專利巴士服務,經營多條香港島、北大嶼山、香港海洋公園、沙田第一城、香港迪士尼樂園、香港國際機場及深圳灣口岸的巴士路線,並有巴士租賃服務。該公司現為新創建集團,城巴與新巴一樣,同是上述公司成員。
Citybus Limited (Chinese: 城巴有限公司) is one of the three major bus operators in Hong Kong. It provides both franchised and non-franchised bus service. The franchised route network serves mainly Hong Kong Island, cross-harbour routes (between Hong Kong Island and Kowloon/New Territories), Ocean Park, North Lantau (Tung Chung and Hong Kong Disneyland) and Hong Kong International Airport. The non-franchised routes serve mainly City One Sha Tin. It also provides bus rental services and staff bus services for some large companies such as TVB and China Light and Power.
The company is wholly owned by NWS Holdings, who also owns the third largest operator, New World First Bus.[3]
From 1984 to 2001 the company offered a cross-border service between Hong Kong and China using mainly Leyland Olympians, but this was discontinued due to stiff competition. However, in 2007, Citybus began operating route B3, which goes to Shenzhen Bay Port.

Hong Kong Buses 2017 香港巴士2017年 – The Oldest Buses of KMB – 九巴最老的巴士
This video documents the decline of a number of older KMB bus types, with a focus on vehicles with H- and J- prefix registrations.
The first type seen here to be completely eradicated was the ADS-class of 9.9 metre Dennis Dragons. These were the last step-entrance double deckers remaining on franchised services in Hong Kong (although non-low floor buses can still be found on residential services). With them disappeared the traditional white aircon livery, leaving only champagne-coloured low-floor buses - at least until KMB unveiled its new red Heartbeat livery later in the year.
Delivered before the last Dennis Dragons were the first Dennis Tridents, and withdrawals of these continued in 2017, especially the Duple Metsec-bodied examples. Inroads have also been made into the massive 3ASV fleet of Volvo Super Olympians, and by the end of 2018 their numbers will have been substantially reduced. The ASV class of 100 short 10.6m Super Olympians was intact at the end of 2017; these are probably safe until 2019 if emissions regulations don't kill them off sooner.
Towards the end of 2017, KMB took the decision to accelerate the retirement of buses with the old-style plastic destination and route number boards, in order to standardise on electronic destination displays. The old type of display is easily distinguished because it is bold white-on-black (amd some say easier to read).
Early in 2018, we will see the first signifigant withdrawals of Neoplan Centroliners and the distinctive MAN/Berkhofs, which were a diverted order from Citybus.
The film finishes with a quick look at some members of the training fleet, mostly retired 11m and 12m Volvo Olympians, although low-floor types are now making an appearance here too. In Shatin, your chances of being run over by a learner bus driver are relatively high!
To get these shots I travelled all over Kowloon and the New Territories, including places well off the tourist trail, such as Cheung On, Lee On, Tsz Wan Shan, Wah Ming and Wong Nai Tau.
