The South Parade Pier is a pier in Portsmouth, England. It is one of two piers in the city, the other being Clarence Pier. The South Parade Pier once had a long hall down its centre which housed a seating area and a small restaurant.
The outside of the hall is a promenade which runs the length of the pier. Once fallen into disrepair, as of 2017, the South Parade Pier has been developed into an amusement arcade and food outlet.
The South Parade Pier, in Southsea, part of the English city of Portsmouth, is a pleasure pier offering typical seaside attractions including souvenir shops, ice creams, indoor amusements and a small children's funfair. South Parade Pier also contains a fishing deck and two function rooms which are often used for live music.

Portsmouth is a port city and naval base on England’s south coast, mostly spread across Portsea Island. It’s known for its maritime heritage and Portsmouth Historic Dockyard. The dockyard is home to the interactive National Museum of the Royal Navy, the wooden warship HMS Victory, where Nelson died in the Battle of Trafalgar, and HMS Warrior 1860. The Tudor ship Mary Rose is also conserved in a dockyard museum.
Portsmouth is a port city in Hampshire, England, mainly on Portsea Island, 70 miles (110 km) south-west of London and 19 miles (31 km) south-east of Southampton. The city of Portsmouth forms part of the South Hampshire built-up area, which also covers Southampton and the towns of Havant, Waterlooville, Eastleigh, Fareham, and Gosport.
Portsmouth is one of the world's best known ports. HMNB Portsmouth is considered to be the home of the Royal Navy and is home to two-thirds of the UK's surface fleet. The city is home to some famous ships, including HMS Warrior, the Tudor carrack Mary Rose and Horatio Nelson's flagship, HMS Victory (the world's oldest naval ship still in commission). The former HMS Vernon naval shore establishment has been redeveloped as a retail park known as Gunwharf Quays. Portsmouth is among the few British cities with two cathedrals: the Anglican Cathedral of St Thomas and the Roman Catholic Cathedral of St John the Evangelist. The waterfront and Portsmouth Harbour are dominated by the Spinnaker Tower, one of the United Kingdom's tallest structures at 560 feet (170 m). Nearby Southsea is a seaside resort with a pier amusement park and medieval castle.
Portsmouth F.C., the city's professional football club, play their home games at Fratton Park. The city has several mainline railway stations that connect to London Waterloo amongst other lines in southern England. Portsmouth International Port is a commercial cruise ship and ferry port for international destinations. The port is the second busiest in the United Kingdom after Dover, handling around three million passengers a year. The city formerly had its own airport, Portsmouth Airport, until its closure in 1973. The University of Portsmouth enrols 23,000 students and is ranked among the world's best modern universities. Portsmouth is also the birthplace of author Charles Dickens and engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel.

Gunwharf Quays To Southsea Seafront | Portsmouth Virtual Walk | December 2019 | Walk With Me UK
Join me on a walk from Gunwharf Quays to Southsea via the Millennium Walkway.
Three kilometres of promenade now links all of Portsmouth’s historic waterfront. The route starts from Spur Redoubt near Clarence Pier, Southsea and finishes on The Hard, taking in Old Portsmouth, the Camber and Gunwharf Quays. The walkway has been built of the highest quality natural stone and opened up waterfront land that had been closed to the public for centuries.
The route is indicated by a chain motif set into the surface, symbolising partnership between the communities of Portsmouth and Gosport and between past and present. Historically it also refers to the chain, which used to be tightened across the harbour entrance at times of potential attack.
Column-mounted lanterns light the promenade, designed to reflect the historic character of blue lights at night that are strung around the harbour.

CLARENCE PIER DRONE & RIDES, OCTOBER 2018
We visit Clarence Pier in Southsea, Portsmouth to view the park at the end of season.
The weather was great for us and it shows the small fun pier in such a great light. Unfortunately the park was closed and some rides were removed or being refurbished. However, I hope you'll agree that this little patch of fun still looks great!

One of the biggest amusements parks that can be found on the south coast, Clarence Pier is in Southsea, and is absolutely jam packed with awesome things for all the family to do.
The pier boasts rides, a sky trail, an indoor play area and a whole host of arcade games, which means that even the hardest to please kids are sure to find something that will keep them entertained. Thanks to the indoor nature of this particular amusement park, it is also open all year round, no matter the weather. Which means that you can pay a visit here during the winter and still have a great day out.
Everything at the pier is pay as you go, which means that you can do as little or as much as you want. You can buy ride tokens, or, if you feel that you might be heading on more than just one or two rides, you can also invest in a wristband which can offer more value for money.

Things To Do In Portsmouth On A Rainy Day | Southsea Beach Cafe And Game Over | September 2017
Join Jeeves, Wayne and myself as we find things to do in Portsmouth on a very rainy day.
It's my birthday weekend and so we decided to start the day with some food at the highly recommended, Southsea Beach Cafe, a personal favourite of mine. We have a look around at the establishment and menu before ordering food, drink and meeting with Jeeves.
We then take an Uber to Game Over in Southsea, a Gaming Cafe where we played on many old school games consoles. We started on Space Invaders and Pac-Man followed by Cars: The Game on PS2 and then finished with Mario Kart on N64 before giving our review of the place.

Places to see in ( Portsmouth - UK ) Southsea Beach
Southsea Beach is a seaside resort and geographic area, located in Portsmouth at the southern end of Portsea Island, Hampshire, England. Southsea Beach is located to the south of Portsmouth city centre and to the east of Old Portsmouth.
Southsea Beach originally developed as a Victorian seaside resort in the 19th century and grew into a dense residential suburb and large distinct commercial and entertainment area, separate from Portsmouth city centre itself. The name of the area originates from Southsea Castle; a fort, located on the seafront and constructed in 1544 to help defend the Solent and approaches to Portsmouth Harbour.
The areas surrounding Albert Road, Palmerston Road and Osborne Road comprise numerous bars, restaurants and independent shops. Palmerston Road is the main High Street of Southsea and contains two national department stores, as well as the local library. Albert Road is a distinct street containing shopping and cultural venues, which includes the Kings Theatre, a regional theatre built in 1907.
Southsea beach is mostly flint gravel, but with sand exposed at low tide. There are two piers: South Parade Pier and Clarence Pier; both house amusement arcades. South Parade Pier also contains a ballroom and a bar area. Clarence Pier is adjacent to a permanent amusement park.
