Secure the Clarina Park Site 2
Another stolen car on fire in the Clarina Park site, Ballinacurra Weston. Limerick.
The site once had 49 perfectly good houses that were built in 1996 - the area was depopulated and the houses demolished over a 5-year period (2007 - 2012). The former estate of Clarina Park is now a proposed site and has been green-lined for private development in the long-term (8-years).
Three blocks of adjacent homes have also been red-lined for demolition and green-lined for private development in the Council's new regeneration plan without any prior agreement with the owners. The site is not secure because the Council have an open spaces policy.
In the interest of residents safety and security the site needs to be properly secured.

Summers at Clonshire
This a compilation of the photos taken when I was riding out on the cross country course at Clonshire Equestrian Centre in Adare, Ireland. The first horse is Tristan, a 16h Irish Sport Horse, a fabulous horse to go out with, a bold and but very kind horse. The second horse is Voltaire, a 17.1h Dutch Warmblood, a talented Show Jumper it was his first time out on a Cross Country course, but he took immediately to the new style of fences, and other than being a bit keen was brilliant ride. Loved them both and would have taken them home with me if I could have.

Hands Off Our Wall
In January 2013, the Community Development Project vacated its offices of 15-years in No. 49 Clarina Park, Ballinacurra Weston and relocated to Garyglass, which is in Ballinacurra Weston but outside the designated regeneration area.
The move had been arranged by Limerick City Council in November 2012 and when the new premises was ready they left without informing anyone they were going.
The Schools Completion Programme was located next door in No. 48 since 2011, they were also moved to Garyglass but were good enough to tell us they were going.
The BWRA had hoped that the houses might remain in community use, but it was obvious from the way the Council had them stripped of copper, doors, fixtures and fittings, that they had no intention of re-letting the properties. Why then were they not demolished immediately?
The biggest tragedy here is that this estate was only 17-years old and there was nothing wrong with the houses, the problems were social, not physical. By 2008 within a year of regeneration coming to town, half the estate had been depopulated, the houses boarded up, left to be looted and burnt-out. By 2011 only two houses remained.

Garden of Hope
The Ballinacurra Weston Residents' Alliance (BWRA) entered the 2011 Limerick Community Challenge.
As the recipient of an environmental grant of €1,000 from Limerick City Council the BWRA was invited to compete, and with an additional €1,000 from the Parish Matching Grant Scheme for a Memory Garden, the BWRA accepted the challenge.
This film documents the work of residents, removing graffiti in June and establishing the Garden of Hope over three rain-free days in August.
The Garden of Hope, which is dedicated to the memory of all those who died or left the area, took the first prize of €5,000 in the challange. The Limerick Community Challenge was funded by the JP McManus Charitable Foundation
