Umpqua Scenic Corridor: Clearwater Falls Oregon 2019
High up in the Umpqua River drainage, the springfed Clearwater River bubbles out of the ground and starts flowing through placid pools and never ending logjams. The first real interuption in the course of the Clearwater is this exceptionally scenic but not terribly impressive 29 foot cascade. The ground around the falls is permeated with soft soil and thousands of intertwined roots, allowing the river to seap in and out of the ground at will. The result is a waterfall that appears to be springing from the ground. While there is only about 10 feet of legitimate vertical waterfall here, this is one of the few cases where we bend the rules to allow the mossy cascades below the falls to be included as part of the falls, largely because the river is dead calm both above and below, and it is easy to identify where the falls begin and end. As mentioned, the Clearwater River is springfed, and is one of the most consistent streams in the northwest in terms of flow, so visiting any time of the year will yield more or less the same results.

Watson Falls Waterfall Dive with Race Drone
I had been itching to dive Watson Falls, and Nate (WREKZit FPV) and I finally had a Monday when we could get up there and give it a go.
At 293', Watson is the 2nd largest single drop waterfall in the state of Oregon, and only about 45 minutes from where I live.
It was WAY wetter than I thought it would be at the spot I had planned on taking off from, but I wasn't about to not fly after hiking my butt all the way up there!
One battery, one flight, and the raw flight footage included ....
Only issue: My drones had ZERO waterproofing at this time!
But, like I say in the video, It is what we came for.

Watson Falls Oregon 2019
The Watson Falls trail leaves from a parking lot, and climbs up a short, somewhat steep but well-tended path, and crosses a series of bridges at the base of the falls. Pause here for an attractive view of the falls, and then proceed along a path to your left for a closer view of the basin several hundred feet farther along the path. Return back down the side trail to the juncture and complete the loop back to the parking lot for a total hike of approximately 0.8 miles.
Watson Falls, Oregon - Highest Waterfall in Southwest Oregon

Amazing Blue River | Waterfall Adventure in Pacific Northwest | Fall Creek Falls in Oregon
We set out on a mission to see some waterfalls. We wanted to see Toketee Falls, but the trail was extremely icy and dangerous. Luckily we found a backup: Fall Creek Falls.
I think the best view of the day was the extremely blue water in the Umpqua River! Oregon is so beautiful!

My Adventure Life: Toketee Falls with Keely
Music Credit: Jai Wolf - Indian Summer
Oregon has so many natural wonders that date back thousands of years. Some formed by old lava flows, like Toketee Falls. This area is amazing, and majestic. The easy hike to the platform makes it accessible by all ages. The climb down to the base of the falls. (NOT FOR EVERYONE) Keely was amazing, when I told her we were going on an adventure this day. I meant it. After breaking a sweat on the rope climb down, it was time to jump in the 30° water. The moment you jump in, your heart starts to race and you lose all your breath. You must focus and breathe. . . I just yelled OH MY GOD lol. But, it was one of the most refreshing and amazing experiences to jump in the freezing water at the base of Toketee Falls. Definitely a memory I will never forget.
Explore Oregon Recreation: Wolf Creek Falls Trail
Pack a lunch in your backpack and head out for an attractive hike through an old growth forest! This 1.2 mile forest trail leads to a cascading two-tier waterfall that plummets 75 and 50 feet into plunge pools.
During the rainy seasons of winter and early spring, the massive upper Wolf Creek Falls puts on a display of strength and power. Spring brings on lush vegetation and vibrant colors for photographers. The reduced water flows in the summer months reveal the complex channels and pathways the water has carved into the bedrock cliffs underneath Wolf Creek Falls.
Know Before You Go:
• The trailhead provides ample parking, a vault toilet, and a picnic table across the road from the trailhead.
• A single picnic site is located approximately one-half mile up the trail.
• Please stay on the trail to avoid starting new trails.
• Open year round.
Directions:
The trailhead is located 10.7 miles up Little River Road (County Road 17), which starts from Highway 138 in Glide. Glide is approximately 17 miles east of Roseburg.
