Around 16 km to the south of northernmost district in Kerala, Kasaragod, lies the massive Bekal Fort. It is among the biggest forts in Kerala and has been impeccably maintained throughout the years. It rises to 130 feet above sea level and is situated on a headland spanning 35km. Much effort has been put to develop a beautiful beach here called the Bekal Fort Beach. People flock to these spots in great numbers. Situated comfortably on steep hills by the sea, the fort provides for an imposing view from the beach. Built using laterite slabs and with a polygonal shape, it is amongst the most visited sites in Kerala.
There are many factors that have added to the popularity of the site. An observation tower fitted with beautiful peepholes, the Anjaneya Temple with its famous masonry and two Theyyam sculptures built from laterite are among the primary attractions. An ancient mosque built by Tipu Sultan and various underground passageways are also important places in the area. A rock garden was built using laterite in the parking area and is an architectural marvel in itself. Trees have been planted on the beach along with the construction of a splendid walkway which makes it easier to traverse the beach and enjoy its sights. At night, the entire place is lit up with special lights that add a whole new dimension to its beauty.

1. Muzhappilangad Drive-in Beach is located in kannur, kerala. This beach is the longest Drive-In Beach in Asia and is featured among the top 6 best beaches for driving in the world in BBC article for Autos. The beach festival is celebrated in the month of April and it is one of the important tourist attractions in the district of Kannur in Kerala.
2. Fort cochin beach:. Fort Kochi beach is a beach along the Arabian Sea situated in Fort Kochi in the city of Kochi in South India, Kerala state. The main attraction of this beach is the Chinese fishing nets and Vasco da Gama Square adjacent to the beach, a lighthouse and a granite walkway which is a perfect example of the European architecture. The remains of the Fort Emmanuel can also be seen here. One must enjoy the Kochi Carnival, the very popular festival, which is celebrated every year during the New Year eve.
3. Chavakkad Beach is beach is located. Chavakkad Municipality of Thrissur District in Kerala State. It lies on the coast of Arabian Sea and attracts domestic tourists and local people. The beach is situated 5 Kilometers from Guruvayoor Temple Sri Krishna Temple and 32 km from the railway station. The river meets the sea known as estuary. Visitors can relax at the beach by engaging in flying kites.. The cleanliness of the beach is one of experiences here is one of the highlights of the visit.
4. Varkala Beach, is located in Varkala municipality of Trivandrum, the capital of Kerala, India. Varkala beach is also known as Papanasam Beach. The word Papanasham means to wash away sins. This beach is a cliff beach along the Arabian Sea, part of the Indian Ocean. Varkala beach is an ideal holiday destination in Kerala for tourists who want a peaceful
vacation. Counted as one of the top ten seasonal beaches in the world by the discovery channel. Varkala beach has adventure and leisure activities such as boat riding, parasailing, jetting, and horse-riding. There are also restaurants and cafes. Best time to enjoy is between late December and March.
5. Marari Beach (Mararikulam Beach ) is located in.Alappuzha District of Kerala, India, 11 km from Alappuzha (Alleppey) town. Marari originates from 'Mararikulum', a local fishing village on the Arabian Sea coast. Marari Beach is a perfect location for holidaying with family or friends, Adventure lovers can enjoy sea surfing, parasailing, water skiing, and deep sea
fishing. You can take a short trip all around the area that includes traditional coir-making units, Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary, Kerala backwater canals.
6. Kovalam beach is located 17 km away from the state capital Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala). Kovalam essentially means a ‘grove of coconut trees', and the little town is filled with these coconut trees. Kovalam beach got three beach Lighthouse beach, Samudra Beach and
Hawa beach/Eve's Beach form the highlight of this town. Kovalam beach attract honeymoon couples and beach lovers extremely love this beach as it offers romantic moments all along with plenty of activities for adventure and fun. Kovalam is the perfect holiday destination to hang up. One of the most special and exciting parts of this place is fairs and festivals which
captivate visitors from all across the world. So, if you wanna take pleasure of these cultural festivals, then you must visit during the festive seasons as it would be the best time for you. Overbury's Folly - Thalassery | ഓവർബറിസ് ഫോളി
Overbury's Folly is a seaside park with a watch tower. It is located less than a kilometer from Thalassery, a commercial town on the Malabar Coast in the Kannur district, Kerala, India. It is named after its builder, E.N. Overbury, who served as a local judge at Thalassery in the 1870s.
In 1879, Overbury wanted to construct a picnic area at the cliff. He couldn't complete it, but the spot later earned the name Overbury's Folly. It commands sweeping views of the Arabian Sea.
Today, Overbury's Folly has been renovated and redecorated as a tourist attraction. It is frequented by local people in the evenings as a place to relax and watch the sun set. A seaside open-air coffee shop has also been opened there.
